Grixis Slavedriver actually works pretty well in my Illuminor Szeras deck. You can put him into the graveyard, unearth him for 4, attack for 4 and then use Szeras' ability to gain 6 mana and a 2/2 blocker. Jank but fun.
i like Doctor Who a fair amount myself, and i am genuinely glad for people who get to have Danny Pink as a Magic card i'd still really rather WotC give me the Universes Within version. Fathom Mage as an anthom but capped is something i was expecting and waiting on to be printed for years, and i like both Human and Soldier shenanigans; i just don't want to play exactly one copy/playset of a UB card in my deck, and i have no plans to play with more Doctor Who cards. i'll play a bit of casual LotR stuff, in ways that seem organic enough. i make an exception to have Aragorn bodyguard Elspeth (Resplendent). and while it's a bit of a different aesthetic, the Warhammer cards seem to fit in a deck or at a table alright enough. Dr Who cards just don't quite mesh for me, at least the characters.
