Hello, Peter has also played phantom of the opera for several years at Broadway. I suggessed you hear at a song by Peter and a lady from Norway called Sissel Kirkjebø. Norways treasure. She is for instance the wistle voice in the themesong in Titanic. The song are in swedish and It's called "gå inte forbi" by the way I'm swedish but I have lived in Norway in over 30 years....
Sweden is the number one country on music in the world. 20% of US Billboard 100s are written by Swedes. They're so many composers, producers and sing/song writers from Sweden that you don't even know are Swedish. Since autumn 2021 it's a Swede that holds the record of most nr 1 hits on Billboard 100s. He went past Michael Jackson, Lennon and McCartney. His artist name is Max Martin. Who has written "Hit me baby one more time", "Show me the feeling of being lonely"? And Madonna, Cher and Celine Dio often use Swedes. Many modern Megastars also... The music in Pretty Woman "It should have been love" is Swedish, the baby in Ally McBeal is dancing to "Hooked on a feeling" sung by Björn Skiffs. Swedish House Maffia and Aviici has written a lot of music for other people. There are about 80 more producers/composers from Sweden that people thinks are American or English.
Helen was born and raised in Sundsvall in the very middle of Sweden, where I also live. I´m many years older than her but I know two people who were classmates with her in school. She is a great singer and I´m a big fan of hers. She has also starred in musicals by Björn and Benny from ABBA and works a lot with Benny Anderssons band. Peter is from the Stockholm area and also a great singer. Ha has also starred in several musicals
Speaking of disney, both Peter and Helen have worked in voice acting as well. Peter Jöback for example is the Swedish voice of Aladdin while Helen have played the role of Anya in Anastasia.
This is the Swedish Crown princess wedding concert. I am from Sweden, from a city called Umeå, in northern Sweden. My favourite artists are ABBA, Helen Sjöholm and Anna Stadling. :)

At one time in the video, Celine´s eyes get wide open when Tommy put some effort into the song. That´s because she was surprised by his power since during previous rehersals he had kind of saved his voice not to over strain it.
Great voices together and a funny reaction from Celine.
I'm from Stockholm, Sweden :) Helen is my favourite singer but apart from her I really like a singer called Laleh. Her song Goliat is great.
I also love the band Kent, and a song I would recommend from them is Sverige or Mannen i Den Vita Hatten (16 år senare)

Hi, About our language skills. I can only speak to Sweden where I grew up and still lives, but I think we have the same thing going through all of the Nordic countries. I started learning English in second or third grade when I was about 7 or 8 years old and up though all my schooling before university (we don't have college here) we had at least three to five hours per week of English the same as we did have Swedish lessons. We also had to have a third language from 7th grade. In my days we had to choose between French or German, but these days you have a plethora of languages to choose from. I know my two God Daughters could also choose Spanish, Russian, Arabic and more. Both did Spanish I think.
Something that have also played a big part of why we are good at English and most of us have a more or less Americanized English is that we never have had anything except maybe for the smallest toddler viewers, any dubbing. Most of the TV we get is American and British and, if we keep to the English variants here, Aussie English. This means that the vast majority of film and TV we consumes from being babies are in some kind of English. It's in our ears daily and many hours too.
This incidentally is why my youngest sister learned to read when she was three was that the rest of the family got tired of reading the subtitles to her and she was left to figure i out by herself.
Most readers in our country from my generation or younger read English just as well as we read Swedish, so that's how we get a fair vocabulary. In the same way from my generation and younger that have gone to University have had large segments done solely in English. Except for the law students in my generation, as we hadn't really had exposure to international commercial law yet at that time. I did a masters degree in the US for that reason, and lo and behold the next generation have had to do sections of their degree in both commercial law and in English.
By the way my generation is the one that started school in the 1970s. That said, even my mother's generation know a decent amount of English (my mom is 84) and most likely would understand if you don't rush your speech. They might prefer not to speak a lot though, because they are aware of how Swedish their accent.
I apologize for the wordy comment. It seems to be the only ones I'm capable to give. If you have any questions about Sweden and Norden (the region of the Nordic countries) the language and especially the interaction between our language and singing (there is a reason why we are over representative in the vocal professions) don't hesitate to get in touch. I love that stuff as the former classical vocal student that I am. I'm impressed at your pronunciation of Swedish. Not a lot of Americans can and will put in the effort, so thank you. Yours, Ann

Heyo I'm from a tiny city named Eslöv in Scania, Sweden. Everyone hates my city for it being small and boring but I love it :) Well, loved it, now we've apparently got shootouts happening, not too fond of hearing that nearby, but guess that is the new reality.
I haven't seen anyone react to Laleh - someone else mentioned her - and I also haven't seen anyone react to The Ark. The Ark are just so iconic for being special, how can they not hit the reaction channels! Oh man please, any the ark song would be great to see a reaction of!
