George was 25, Paul was 26, and John & Ringo were both 28 when this was filmed. The Beatles would be no more by the end of the year. Just phenomenal what they accomplished in such a short time at such a young age.
This composition wasn’t just 6 years after I Wanna Hold Your Hand. It was light years beyond. The evolution of the songwriting in such a short time blows my mind.
George always played fantastic short solos that melted into the song like fire melting the wax in a pool
Nobody harmonized like John & Paul.
Imagine being that intern holding the notebook with the lyrics for John
Even though George did not want to be on that roof, you see his smiles as he hears the song coming together so wonderfully.
Lennon was the hippest of the hip, the coolest of the cool.
Mr Billy Preston on Keyboard On Of The Greatest Keyboardest Ever
George's playing on these roof tops songs is just so essential;. He really was a great guitar player
I love the way John looks at paul when he dose the high parts he's got a big smile it's like this is like when they first started out and the memories are still there.
What really impressed me with the roof top concert was how John really came alive in his performances - during the rehearsals he kidded around a lot but then put it into overdrive, put the peddle to the metal so to speak when it came game time
Still so exciting and moving after all these years... That's my favorite band ever.
"I roll a stony, well you can imitate everyone you know" (A dig at The Rolling Stones)
Vocal, bass line, guitar solo, everything is brilliant. Real masterpiece.
Great fills and solo by George. He was so demeaning of his ability, especially when comparing himself to Clapton, but he was great! We all miss him. 🥰
This band was tight. every note and drum beat was in perfect place all the time. The creativity was amazing. This is as good as it gets
The greatest rock band in history
If ever there was an example of "going out on top," this is it.
John's voice always gets me, literally one of the best rock voices we've had
Love George's guitar work on this! ❤
