  • Lisa Gade reviews the 2016 Razer Blade, a 14” gaming laptop with the power of a much larger machine. It's clad in a stealthy aluminum matte black that you could take into a meeting, and weighs just 4.3 lbs. (1.95 kg). For 2016 Razer lowers the price, updates the CPU to 6th gen Intel Skylake, improves cooling, tweaks the Chroma keyboard, uses a more legible keyboard font.
    ** Read our full written review here: www.mobiletechreview.com/noteb...
    The 0.7” thick laptop is great for pro apps and gaming. It runs Windows 10 on the Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad core, 45 watt CPU with Intel HD 530 graphics switchable with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 6GB DDR5 graphics via NVIDIA Optimus. It has 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM and your choice of a 256 or 512 gig PCIe NVMe SSD. It has what might be described as the world’s most entertaining notebook keyboard thanks to Chroma backlighting and many available effects with infinite color choice. Excellent Killer Wireless AC WiFi with Bluetooth, a 2MP webcam and a very compact charger are standard. It starts at $1,999.

    I used to hate razer laptops but this is an exception. $2,000 is really not that bad, considering the specs and the aesthetics of it.

      I think it's priced all right. Of course we always want to pay less for more, and this is a lot of overkill for just browsing the web and editing documents: but for mobile gaming, it's great!

      I have an Acer Aspire V Nitro 15in, I thought i would regret it (since it is acer) but I love it. I can play every game with 60+ fps. (some very intensive games run slower but never under 30fps). Its an intel i7 turbo boost to 4.2ghz and a nvidia 980m

    Everyone always thinks every manufacturer copies Apple product design. So apparently Apple has copyrights on any and every design of all electronics. SMH

    • @larsmehlhop-lange8884
      @larsmehlhop-lange8884 Před 8 lety

      Well, no, they cannot simply copyright any and all innovative designs. But this particular laptop design does, in fact, get copied a lot. And Apple did invent it. Apple, on their part, were inspired by designs of the German "Braun" brand (manufactrurer of household appliances and electronics). Look it up. It's a fascinating part of product design history.

    • @ladyvee7110
      @ladyvee7110 Před 8 lety +2

      They say the Dell, HP, Acer, etc have also stolen from Apple. Apple is really good at stealing or being "inspired" by other people's concepts and quickly running to the patent office before people get wind of it and saying they invented something that had already been in existence. They're good at possibly perfecting an idea and that's about it. I'm getting really sick and tired of all the Apple comparisons to my non-Apple products, from laptops to smart phones. Enough already. People want Apple products to be the only electronics people should own.

      ***** but he was speaking truth about how Apple is quick to steal designs and patent something another manufacturer created and throw their own little logo on it and call it their own but yeah apple innovated once in history and yes other manufacturers have been inspired by apple but dont act like apple does the same shit + more

    great review Lisa. with thin laptops using Quad-core CPUs, I always get skeptical the manufacturer might downpower the CPU TDP to keep heat low. did you get any evidence that the i7-6700 might power throttle or temp throttle earlier (more frequently) than say, the Asus ZenBook Pro, the XPS 15 or the Macbook Pro 15?

    Hi Lisa. Thanks for a great review! Question: for basic full HD video editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects, do you thin the Stealth+Core can handle those tasks, or would stepping up to the Blade 14 be more prudent?
    I like that the stealth is smaller, quieter, and cooler for having in the office, but I need to be able to do some creative work at home in Adobe CC apps.
