    I hate when adults say bullying is just “kids being kids”. I was severely bullied every single day from first grade until I left public school in ninth grade. I’ll tell you now, that shit STICKS. It contributed to my PTSD. So if you have kids and they tell you they’re being bullied, do NOT brush it off. It can be devastating.

      I suffered a lot of bullying, I stopped studying in the fifth grade because of that. To this day I have a phobia of places with people, even with family I feel uncomfortable and any smile I think is to make fun of me. I tried to go back to studying but I couldn't. Bullying is no joke and can, certainly, lead to tragedies.
      ----------

    I'm in my 40's now, so things were a lot different when I was in school. I was a senior, doing day school and night school to catch up on credits. There was one girl who I didn't even who had a problem with me. Her and 3 of her friends tried to goat me into a fight between night classes. I told her I wasn't dumb enough to bring a knife to a gun fight. While they were trying to figure out what just happened, I went to class. Got called into the office because she told the principal I said I had a knife. The principal knew I didn't, but still had to check. He told me he couldn't bring her in unless I said she had a weapon. I told him picking random fights screams more issues at home, and a expulsion from school would just make matters worse for her. The principal called her in, and explained that I want to throw her a charge for a hopefully temporary lapse in judgment. Her and her friends actually found me the next night, apologized 9the night before, and thanked me for not being petty. We were actually pretty good friends after tbat.

    An update on the 12-yo. She's in treatment right now. They're saying that she had a "manic episode of some kind" due to her getting off of her ADHD meds for the second time. She started self harming after stopping the meds as well. Unfortunately, she allegedly told her friends that she had thoughts of stabbing her brother but nobody ever said anything to the parents until after it happened.
    There's no charges filed yet from what I can find.
    Drug induced psychosis is very real especially when getting off of Adderall (or any amphetamine) abruptly. So, I can see that happening but there just isn't enough information released to know for sure. I'm also inferring that it was Adderall. The name of the medication wasn't released.
    I know 2 people personally that went through drug induced psychosis after getting off of Adderall abruptly. It is really sad to watch. Thankfully they weren't homicidal but they were VERY paranoid and VERY confused. Hope that little girl gets the help she desperately needs.

She does need txment but if I was the parent - it'd be hard to trust her back in the house. Just my opinion. And as far as the girl with the gun..she kept harping on that she didn't harm anybody. So it would be OK if she actually hurt or kill someone? Then she could understand understand why the police were involved? Oh btw, great voice narrative.

I have to say as a father we probably didn't do our job because our children are raising their kids any goddamn better. Call the social media and it's all the time outs and it's all the kids threatening to call CPS on their parents because they're getting in trouble. My son actually told me that when he was 10 he was going to call the police on me because I was grounding him for something him and his friends did and he was mad at me and I was being a bad dad. I work in customs, and there are many people bringing illegal contraband into the country. Most of them react like, "Okay, you caught me, sorry." and the cooperate to get a low sentence. But there's always that one man or woman who just blatantly refuses to accept the circumstances. It typically goes: 1. I have nothing. 2. That's just medicine. 3. But my uncle needs this. 4. I didn't know it was there, somebody must have put it there secretly. 5. It's a gift for family, so it can't be illegal/ so I don't have to show an invoice and I don't have to pay taxes. 6. But I have brought this with me many times already, never a problem! 7. Okay, so it's illegal because you caught me now. When I was 20 feet away from you, you hadn't caught me yet. Can we get back to that point, and you simply don't catch me? 8. Okay, so can you just throw it away and let me go?

  • @Razhali
    @Razhali Před 3 měsíci +2

    Disclaimer: I'm not saying that the kids or the drunk girl who I mention below were right in there actions. I am just pointing out how police need better training in such situations.
    33:45 I think the officers handler this case really poorly. The girl wasnt even being that rebellious. She was irritated and annoyed at the police officers for good reasons. She was being a good friend, trying to stay with the guy as he was being arrested. The fact that so many public citizens have trust issues with authority figures for good reasons makes it an obvious understanding of why the girl didnt want to leave her friend. Her phone was in the car and the officers wouldnt even get it out for her. They could have let her use their phone to call her parents or let her come with them like she wanted. They could have just let her there, ignoring her rants but decided to stay and provoke her. Her friend just got jumped, they are both shook and just want to go home. The officers dont even take the boy to the hospital to make sure hes not concussed. The boy has a lot of perspirations on his chest and the officer says "I can smell the booze on you." What if the attacker dumped alcohol on the boy? The were sobriety tests but no breathalyzer test. The girl rightfully wants to know whats going on and why. I my opinion, shes actually being surprising calm despite the situation and how the officers handled it. The amount of officers that were there were ridiculous and the fact they hand cuffed her for tossing cans at the after all of it was like "You kept provoking her on purpose until she did something that you can cuff and charge her for." Officers themselves can act like toddlers and think they are about the law. Judges, Doctors, Police, Attorneys/lawyers all think they can play God when they are just as monsterous as the people they put in jail or prison. The justice system fails us time and time again by releasing monsters to recommit crimes that they had been convicted of and focus there time on teenage or young adult rants that could have been subdued by just walking away. Officers have proven that they are extemely violent and trigger happy and those who are scared for there life or ignore the law - should never have been given a badge. I understand that spitting at or throwing something at an individual can be seen as an assault but why do officers get more priority of those who they swore to protect. "Assaulting a Police officer" or "Cop Killer." What makes actions towards police any different then actions towards an ordinary citizen. Why are these actions more severe if they are done on a 'a brother of the badge' the a citizen that they were supposed to protect? Why does the justice system take a cop killer more seriously then a serial killer with or without a preference? A cop killer is no more deadly then a serial killer, no more important to be caught then a homocidal maniac. Why is any crime that was dealt to an authority figure so much more severe then the same crime done to random person on the street. When cops are the killers, it gets covered up but when the cop is a target, it becomes a manhunt for the suspect.
    37:33 This is also a good example of officers going overboard. First off, these kids are only 12 and are so far - only guilty of grand theft auto/theft of a motorized vehicle. Most of the kids can be seen laying face down on the cement with their hands behind there backs and being compliant. There are 5 officers seen walking towards 2 of the boys and one officer (a woman) has already unholstered her gun even though the kids were being compliant. In the time stamp, you can see at least 5 cop cars at the scene. These kids are being treated the same way as a bank robber or mass shooter would be treated.

You have manic episodes and do things that you normally wouldn't with no rhyme or reason. I've seen someone who was misdiagnosed and put on bipolar meds they didn't belong on. This caused them to start hallucinating and hearing voices, and they turned to self harm to try and get the voices to stop. Meds that alter brain chemistry need to be monitored with extreme closeness in adolescents because their brains are still developing and are less chemically stable than a fully grown adult.

    Well, as I type, they are talking about the victim being taken to the hospital...maybe he doesn't die? Hopefully?? I just thought I heard "the stabbing death" at the beginning of the video. Oh I hope he survives. That poor mother, my God.

    The first case was disturbing enough, but what disturbed me the most was the fact that she was more concerned about what would happen to her. I know it was only a short clip, but she didn't show much concern for her brother or mother

      I've seen the entire video (what was posted anyway). She was incredibly concerned for her brother. I think she was only like 12 too so she wouldn't have much ability to understand consequences. But she was absolutely broken over what she did. She begged them to help her brother. The whole thing was really sad. It sounds like her mom had tried to get her help, she had serious emotional issues.

    You know, back in the day when a kid was being bullied and they finally stood up for themselves The situation was considered handled and most of the time the bully would stop. Nowadays the bullied children aren't allowed to defend themselves because then they'll get in trouble too. And this is what it leads to. Stupid kids bringing weapons to school.

    If I remember correctly the first girl who stabbed her brother asked to not be left alone with her little brother cause she couldn't handle it. Yet the parents still left her alone with him.
    She also grew up around drugs and violence.
    Yes, she has issues but at her age I think this is more on the parents than anything, ignoring her pleas and using her as free babysit..

    • @MaidenLoaf
      @MaidenLoaf Před 2 měsíci

      Most of the time, from my experience (including one case where I was incredibly tired and almost failed to stop when he was trying to flag me down), police are just following procedure and are as reasonable as they can be if you don't give them crap.
      Most of the time they're just people with a job to do. And in this case if he's following procedure, then he's correct: he doesn't make the rules.
      Thing is, bodycam footage doesn't get uploaded on CZcams when nothing untoward has happened. I've known a police officer from my uni days and he basically said 99% of the time the job is pretty boring.
      Are there bad eggs? Sure. That's just humanity.
