After over 30 years I listen to Saga again. So many memories. I am filled with emotion listening to their magical music, amazing guitar solos and that voice.....
Everytime I hear this song, I'm 13 again... along with all the fun and awkward feelings and pain of adolescence. I'm also reminded of all the people that have come and gone from my life between then and now. And how life on this world has changed forever.
I was new to Toronto back in the early 80's , my then girlfriend 14 yrs my senior took me to cabage town where we had a weekly baseball game with her friend Marty Morin ( Goddo ) . I didn't know anything about the band , it was a Sunday and after we went back to Marty's close by when who dropped by but Jim Crichton from Saga with his wife or girlfriend . We smoked a joint and drank beer . I didn;t know who these poeple were then, but i do now and its a great memory to have .
Perhaps being mostly a kid in the 80's is the reason I didn't know about Saga until 10 years ago when I went through youtube's Canadian bands of the 80's. Missed a few others.

This should have been a huge hit, and launching pad for Saga globally, but Wildest Dreams followed this and wasn't as strong of album, the band's sound missed Steve Negus and Jim Gilmour, and Atlantic's plans for a big promotion of Wildest Dreams never really came through.
Unique Band. So underrated and so much higher above the rest. Unfortunately even young Canadians never heard about SAGA. For ever in my heart....Thanks guys!
@Xenial Hipster Berp ,I remember hearing this after midnight and after they played Snakes 🐍 and Ladders 🪜 by Men at Work and Let's Talk 👄 by DEVO in November 1985 On 99 Rock WPLR New Haven Ct when the Station had Freedom of Choice !
Ky Saga fan here. Not a massive band overall in the states, but I do find their albums from time to time here on vinyl. This really should have been a hit, even thought it is one of the more ‘proggy’ sounding tracks on the album. Also, I wonder if the band was an influence of country-and-tour-mates Rush’s sound (they are thanked in the liner notes of ‘Moving Pictures’) considering they went in a similar direction of sound from ‘Signals’ to ‘Roll the Bones’.

Might have heard this song before, but it really hit home after a friend committed suicide. It's ok, his cancer had returned and it was only a matter of time anyway. He rests in peace. This song helped me through.
Sorry to hear that of your friend. I retreated into CFNY 102.1 FM and music as my life was fraught of dysfunctionality and violence! I know what pain feels like...
At the local discotheque,- close friended by the english DJ Brian Estcourt,- and he knew my childhood friend and my admiration for SAGA,- so he played it especially for us (Y) :-)

I first heard this song on my way back home from a date last on some Saturday night back in early 1986 in a snow storm lol! I knew of Sag but I didn`t know it was them since there was a female voice singing lead as well! I found out it was them about 2 weeks later when my buddy bought the album! Great song from a great Canadian band!
la perfection du mélange entre pop, rock et prog !! avec cet album Saga aurait du avoir la popularité de Toto IV ou Foreigner 4 !! le 4e de Saga était "World Apart" , il avait le niveau d'un disque majeur de l'histoire du rock !!
Saga, for me this is the 80's.
After over 30 years I listen to Saga again.
So many memories.
I am filled with emotion listening to their magical music, amazing guitar solos and that voice.....

Fab night - and a better time.

LOVE this song. It's technically prog rock but sounds much more like a new wave ballad. I'm surprised it wasn't a huge crossover hit

The drum like Genesis- Second Home By the Sea instrumental track. Cool!
Great song!
Saga ROCKS
Heard this on the radio in Syracuse, NY in the fall of 1985 and was SURE it was going to be a major hit. Sure should've been.
I think it did well in Canada, at least I liked it playin' on the radio.
And i thought you were going to end that statement with. But, What Do I know... lol
Didn't even make the HOT 100. Also from Syracuse here.
SAGA was not rock, prog, or glam, but in between . The band was very popular in germany .

love the lead guitar solo in this
That's Ian Crichton
He's an amazing guitarist. The part when he and Michael match "screams" gives me goosebumps.
This has to be one of the best sounding songs I've heard so far from a Canadian band. Great job Saga!
👀Rush 👀 Triumph 👀
I'd recommend listening to Devin Townsend - Stormbending, a little heavier but insanely good

Heute kommen sie endlich nach Dillingen/Saarland und ich freue mich mega auf euch ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You were once my vice
Now you're just like ice
So cold and too cool
You know how to hypnotize
You wear a great disguise
I've learned to see through
What do I know
What do I know
I'm confused by things that you do
What do I know
What do I know
I can't stop thinking about you
I don't see wrong from right
But I could see the light
Stopped shining in you
And on a distant night
You went and lost the fight
That made me look up to you
What do I know
What do I know
I'm confused by things that you do
What do I know
What do I know
I can't stop thinking about you
What do I know
What do I know
I'm confused by things that you do
What do I know
What do I know
I can't stop thinking about you
What did you change for
What do I know
What do I know
I'm confused by things that you do
What do I know
What do I know
I can't stop thinking about you
What did you change for
No one could give you more
What did you change for
No one could give you more
What do I know
What do I know
I'm confused by things that you do
What do I know
What do I know
I can't stop thinking about you
