    Original comment:
    I just bought a 2008 Jetta SE and whoever set up the aftermarket radio just jammed their red wire under one of the relays. I think it might be affecting my power locks. Do you think rewiring it with one of those "Add-a-circuit Fuse TAP Adapters" would allow my locks to work more reliably?

  • @hectorjcm800

    Thank you for the video!! I also had the problem of the "immobilizer active" message. It should be noted that in the video the red wire coming from the add a circuit is also connected to the red wire (non switched power supply) of the OEM harness. My car went nuts, then I noticed the radio remained on regardless of the ignition switch. I just cut the red wire coming from the OEM harness, leaving a clean supply of 12v coming only from the fuse panel, and voila, problem solved. Now it works as it should, the only drawback being the fact that I cannot listen to the radio with the ignition switch off. Also please correct me if I´m wrong but I think that the position of the add a circuit in the video is reversed since the 12v come from the upper terminal of the fuse slot. Cheers!

      2. In this case, how do I connect the power antenna wire(red thin wire in the video)? Should I also connect it to the fuse panel?

    One thing to keep in mind is the Power cable must not be strightly wired in or else it will constantly pul power 24/7 without an alternative to turn it off (no shutting down the radio manually wont do the trick) this is why he puts the fuse into the ignition so the radios power sourse is tied to the cars ignition power. Hopefully this helps someone!

      Also there is a difference between the red accessory wire on the radio and the yellow power 12v constant wire on the radio. Yellow wire is on constantly, powers the radio, and keeps saved data in the radio. Red wire is the accessory or ignition wire to trigger the radio to turn on when the key is on. Because this specific video didn’t use a smart harness, there is no accessory wire behind the radio (vehicle runs in a canbus data system) so this is why we ran a red wire to the fuse box for accessory power to trigger the radio to turn on with the key.

      In our updated video (link in description), we show you the smart harness used that provides that wire for you. Other instances you can just ground it (except for Alpine's and Pioneers)

      I apologize if I didn’t see it but I rewatched both videos. I’m using the Crux adapter and I think you just said connect wire for wire I have a really long green wire from the pioneer DMH 1770 which says connect to the parking brake. Is there actually a wire In The Crux I attach to or must I figure out how to get the handbrake assembly apart? I’ve read elsewhere the little bypass devices don’t work on this model. Thanks for your help! I’m so close to getting this completely set up.

      See the updated version of this video linked in the description. The right way to do this would be using the correct smart harness which provides the accessory red wire which turns the radio on when the key is on.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio Před 2 lety

      Sounds like you still have a wiring issue as it's losing memory / constant 12v each time you turn off your vehicle. Get yourself a multi meter, and check to make sure the yellow wire is constant 12v (on all the time), and red wire of the radio is only getting power when you turn the key on.

  • @dennik8374
    @dennik8374 Před 11 měsíci

    If your memory does not work then you will need to have a second add a cercit from the fuse box to have the 12V constant(instead of having a 12V constant from the wiring you by pass that and get the 12V from the fuse box and if you have the other switch power add a circuit NEED 2/BOTH then you will have memory and turn off when you turn the car off)
