- Hi Guys.. In this video, I am comparing 2 most popular Hard Disk Drive. ie Seagate Barracuda 1TB vs WD Blue 1TB. both are 3.5 inch SATA hard disk drives... both Have 64MB DDR2 Cache memory..

Great information. IMO, the useful information is only reliability. Apparently, No one reads and writes SATA HDD vigorously. SATA HDD is 5+ times slower than SSD. It's use is mainly as a long-life cheap storage.

It's very true.. even HDDs of the same model and time of manufacturing have noticeably different speeds.. and also even new HDDs can fail due to manufacturing errors.. so it's all about the Data of Old HDDs.. that which brands have more or less failing Drives.. 👍..

In the year 2014 many article published that Seagate has more sudden breakdown chance than hitachi,wd etc..since then 7 years passed,it would be great to know what is the exact condition now,as seagate was very reliable at past.
Im glad my 2010 seagate still running..
I own both wd blue and seagate barracuda hdd. I will suggest to go with wd because it is more reliable. My seagate hdd died after after 2 years but I am using wd blue for more than 5 years and it is still in very good working condition.
But mine Seagate hard drives are running from last 15 years 💀

WD has a DDR3 SDram which is much better than the EDO Dram in the seagate .
Our 8 year old Seagate backup drive is working good
Seagate 160Gb still working from January 2008 ( 14 years old ) 😂, but not detect sometimes last 2-3 months

I will play story games mostly and Seagate 1TB price is 3200rs and WD 1TB price is 3000rs I am going with Seagate as u told in the video Seagate is good for story games

Not really related to this video maybe? But I have 1 SSD and 3 HDDs, 1 Samsung HD322J 320 GB, 1 WD Blue 500 GB (WD5000AAKX) and 1 WD 160 GB HDD for storage (both used units). Last week 2 WD HDD were on their way to fail, got warning from Crystal Disk and HWInfo. 1 of them always loses drive letter so I have to reassign drive letter upon reboot to use it.
One thing i noticed, WD temp is always hot if compared to another brand even when not in used, 46c on idle and 55c under full load LOL. Samsung ones idles at only 31c and 44 under full load.
The best thing is, Samsung has the most power on time (32130 hours) and still going strong while the WD ones only has 7753 and 1267 hours on them and already failing.
BTW i ordered 2 used 500GB Seagate Barracuda to replace the faulty WD. Used to use Seagate HDDs previously, never failed on me except they run a tad bit hotter than Samsung HDD.
Bhai mechanical parts rehte hai, so physical damage nahi hona chahiye Seagate barracuda 23 years tak use ki hui, office me , Seagate drive , external me kabhi Seagate mt lena.
It's all about failure rate

I think isme zada koi problem nahi hai. Do 2 things.. buy new SATA cable.. 2 clean Sata ports and PC .

im looking for 1 tb hdd for my asus tuf laptop for mid-high spec games , what do u recommend? and do i have to pay for the installation, if yes how much? (im not confident in myself so i wont be doing it)
I dont recommend to get a laptop HDD since they are more prone to fail.. although WD Blues have Low failure rate you can try them.. . but personally I recommend to get a SSD.. installed in your PC.. They do not fails easily.. and now are cheap.. too. Or Simply get an External SSD and Use it anywhere and anyway you want.. that's what I use too. i use Crucial BX500 + USB 3.0 Enclosure and I easily get full 450MBPS on USB 3 port.. i use it to play games.. I use it to edit my videos etc etc...

Try to clean it from CMD.. if it doesn't work... Try Drill Disk Software, Is that doesn't work... It's Dead... Throw that Drive in Bin....

Dono use karta hu.. and WD ko winner uske service and customer support ke lea diya in consumer segment HDDs ke lea.. I know Seagate rocks in workstation segment.. but WD blue and barracuda are not NAS or workstation drives..
and may be past year seagate ne apni service achchi kar de ho.. so i am not damn sure about this right now... also check the failure rate of Seagate and WD hdds...
