God, I miss the 80s and shows like Miami Vice. I'm rewatching my favorite episodes and EVAN was one of my most favorite; the music the acting the intensity of this episode was like a hurricaine. It also was one of the first shows to bring out the taboo subject at that time of homosexuality. That was a huge risk at the time but the way it was written into the script was done very well. Every show from the first season was extraordinary beyond words and I would welcome a show like MV today. But it was a one time shot, it worked and we'll never see television like this ever again.
