I also own this bag in the taupe color. Iâm 5â2â. I adore this bag! It does sit lower on me of course, overall looks bigger on my small frame. The strap sits and stays on my more narrow shoulders. But I agree with all of your points. For me this is such a functional everyday bag that is very easy to carry. I highly recommend!
If I were a handbag designer these reviews would be my first go-to source when planning a new one. Thanks for a review that is detailed and practical..

Iâm 5â1 and own this bag, I find no issues with the length, as it also sits perfect on me surprisingly! I do agree I easily overfill and make this bag super heavy (and then start to worry it gets overstretches from the weight), but also a pro that itâs so deep. Definitely my fave!
I bought this bag for my mom a few years ago and she would overfill it so she gave it to me (yay). And itâs one of my all time faves!
I was just at Desert Hills Outlets aka Cabazon this last weekend and my husband bought me the Seau Sangle in Taupe, itâs beautiful! Itâs my new everyday bag and we got it for 20% off! My husband was happy too, because he almost bought it for me when we were in NYC. The people at the store were super helpful too. Totally worth the trip!

I love this bag Emma! I've wanted it for a while now but even second-hand can't justify the cost. However, I have two Marc Jacobs bags from about 12 years ago which are a similar shape and I'm about to get them both renovated. Hoping they will stop the longing for your Celine Seau Sangle! đ
Thanks for the thorough review, my baby arrived today (sheâs smaller than I thought)! FYI for those considering the Sangle, the black grained calfskin is being discontinued. Not sure if it will come in another black leather or is being completely phased out - I quickly snapped one up in my local boutique as soon as customer service confirmed they wouldnât be restocking online. One came up on VC a couple of days ago and sold in less than 10 minutes.
I have this exact bag and LOVE it! I carry this to work because it fits my laptop without being wide. I can go straight from work to dinner and still feel chic and not bulky while having to bring my laptop in my purse into dinner.
I have a similar shaped non branded bag and it came with a zipper closure and its been my work horse bag for 2 years!

Emma, please extend the size range of your blazers!!! I wanted to get one from the preorder and when I saw that it went up to a size 12US only, I was so disappointed. I'm between a size 14US and 16US, which makes it pretty difficult for me to find statement pieces that work for my wardrobe! If you could extend the sizes, lots of us in the plus community can have that ability to rock your piece! xx

I am 1,50m and owned this bag. It was definitely too large and wide for me. I think anyone below 1,60m should go for a smaller size. My husband used to joke that I could store baguettes in it đ Btw, for a petite person in need of a larger CĂ©line bag, I would personally suggest a Luggage or Belt bag in size micro.

Love this style bag. The Tory Burch McGraw Hobo is similar and at a less expensive price point. Great leather, practical and understated branding. Magnetic snap closure at top but I do wish it was able to fully close. Still I love mines. Maybe I should give it a name.
Iâve been wanting this bag for almost two years and plan to buy it (đ€đ»itâs still available) in October when I travel to Europe. If Iâm being honest, the only person I find on the internet who pulls this bag off is you! I am 5â7âŠso hoping I am tall enough to make it work. This was on my wishlist for such a long time until I saw my friendâs Sangle after just a year of occasionally wearing it....it **sags**, loses shape and wears a bit crappy after a whileđ Iâd definitely be careful! She got the black one too second hand and uses it about once a week and stores it well stuffed!

I just bought a leather bag that looks almost identical on Amazon. It's by Bostanten and it comes with a second strap. I love it for all the same reasons you mentioned but it does have a snap on the outer pocket which I prefer.

My favorite feature is the hard-to-find exterior pockets, which I love. I would use them for small items that I use a lot, like lip balm, phone and keys, but that does eventually mark the leather with press-marks of their shapes. I agree the bag is maybe not secure enough for London, but it would be fine for my suburban location; I rarely zip my bags anyway. Iâm not sure about the wool strap; in my climate half of the year bags are worn over bare skin, and every time Iâve tried a non-leather strap, it wouldnât stay on my shoulder. So, I ended up having to add one of those clunky rubber strap pads, but they pull out my hair. I could never afford a bag like this anyway, my absolute maximum budget is about $200 US, but itâs fun to think about! Thanks, Em,

At the beginning of summer I bought the Celine Gourmette Suede Bag second hand. It has all the features I love, suede, chain, shape and closure. If only Celine were to make it again next season I would buy it full price or more. Unfortunately donât think they ever will, and my bag leather interior is peeling đą
Thanks for the thorough review! I'm going to dissent from the love of this bag. While I love the simple shape and undoubtedly top notch material used, the lack of organization, security and adjustable strap are deal breakers. Reminds me of my previous obsession with the Longchamp totes (in my 20s and 30s I collected multiple colours), which always turn into an unorganized jumble of my things whenever i toss my everyday carry items in them. Nevertheless, the bag looks awesome on you, and I"m sure you'll get lots of wear out of it; therefore, it's a great score for you!

I think for the very hefty price tag,I would definitely want a more secure top fastening . The design of the outer pockets are fairly useless as by putting anything in them it would basically ruin the overall shape. I would personally prefer an adjustable strap though I do like the width of the webbing. I think this bag, is nice but itâs easily duped and for me,just not special enough for the money.

I lust after this bag every day on Vestaillaire (sp?) collective. I would never be able to tell my husband how much it costs even second hand but I may go for it because I know it is really the price devided by the use for the real price cost per wear and I think I would use it a lot! Thinking about one in burgandy. Glad you said how much you paid so at least I have a guideline to go by. Thanks:)
PS, Forgot to say: I think the minimal use of hardware is what keeps the weight down. I recently bought a âbig nameâ bag on sale online, and the weight of all that hardware is unbelievable, it weighs something like 8 lbs. empty! Stupid me, should have returned it, but I didnât really notice until I wore it on a quick errand, just with a few things in it, and got a shoulder-blister. Itâs become my car bag, then I pull out of it the small bag I really use.

Hi! Your great review of the Celine Sangle is making me seriously consider getting one! I wanted to ask how your bag has held up over the years. My main concern is whether or not the leather that rubs against the ring where the strap clasp connects can get damaged over time?
A thin decorative magnetic strip would have been nice for the outside pocket(s) or a zipper.

Hello Emma, I love your style and that bag is awesome. It's completely out of by budget but I found one from Coach that I believe to me the same style and size, and am tented to by it. If you could be so kind to look at and tell if you think the sasme way I appreciated so very much. The Coach bag is the Town bucket bag, the bigger size, there is a small one. If you have the time to look at it... Thank you so much, even if you don't find the time to do it.

Great review of a very lovely bag. It hurts a wee bit that Judith has slipped a bit in rotation (I have one of my own on the strength of your recommendation; her name is Emma, and I love her) but needs must and we are always moving forward. One question. Like all totes or buckets I am always rummaging blindly, usually when driving with my bag on the passenger seat, and I wondered if you found the vertical depth difficult to reach into and find items? Because you are so tall Iâm guessing your arms are much longer than my stumpy 5â4â allows, so it might not be an issue for you. Curious as to your thoughts.
