The lead-up to Eurovision 2022 has begun! The countries that are representing in this year's contest have already started to select who they want to send to Turin.
Italy has decided who they will send to the contest and that is Mahmood and BIanco with their song "Brividi".

There’s no Logic in comparing Mahmood’s elegant and poetic pen to Maneskin’s, they’re just a completely different genre, even being both absolutely amazing. And that is the key, showing Europe all the aspects of italian music.
Hi Noosh, I am Italian and it is always interesting to listen international opinions about our songs. For us Sanremo Festival it's so important, like Christmas! and I am really glad about your interest about it. I know that is not such a surprise about Mahmood winning it, it was the same for us also because both, Mahmood and Blanco, they already have a huge fan base especially among young people, and with televote it was natural for them getting the first place. My favorite thing about their song is that in Italy, is really common to hear them in urban context, especially Blanco; however this song presents them in a really classy elegant way. Even if in Turin they will not do great like Maneskin did, I will be still proud of them representing my country. And I am sure that they will end in the top 3.
I feel that this year was a little bit weak , elisa was the only outsider ❤️ , but I can understand it cause best artists take time to write masterpieces , (Lila ermal and Francesca michielin , Mahmood ,)

More than a half, expecially the songs of the "youngsters". The top 3, anyway, was good, and Morandi & Jovanotti was a real fun to see 😁

Brividi is an extremely beautiful song and I love the fact that even if it's a ballad it doesn't sound "dated". It's emotional but fresh at the same time. I'm happy that Italy continues its series of high quality entries. I don't see them winning but I see them doing really good, I think top 5 would be quite easy to reach.

in realtà è la Rai che sceglie chi mandare o non mandare perché Eurovision è gestito dalle televisioni nazionali europee, in teoria potrebbero anche organizzare un altro festival specificamente per scegliere chi partecipa a Eurovision, per adesso per fortuna ci va chi vince Sanremo (che può rinunciare come fecero gli Stadio)

Also Eurovision doesn’t allow instruments on stage, it would take too long to test all of them, etc. Like Måneskin, they were playing their instruments but they weren’t plugged in to produce any sound in the audio. They can’t have an orchestra because live instruments are banned in pretty sure. In san remo the orchestra is part of all the acts, Eurovision used to have an orchestra too but not anymore
You don't have to test all of them, yous just need to provide to the singers or groups an orchestra, that's it.
The orchestra can be the musical track they use though

Raga ve lo dico io, Mahmood e Blanco stanno cantando insieme per i propri amati, Blanco alla sua amata e Mahmood al suo amato.
Sul palco la performance è si tra due ragazzi che si cantano a vicenda (che è anche bello vederlo a Sanremo finalmente) ma se ci fate caso Blanco dice sei una vipera, sei stata ecc.. e Mahmood le dice al maschile. La canzone è cantata da due punti di vista ""differenti"" di amore che poi tanto differenti non sono, anzi è un bellissimo messaggio perché anche se Blanco canta per una donna e Mahmood per un uomo fa capire che "vedi? il sentimento è uguale non c'è niente di diverso". Ti emoziona uguale perché è una canzone d'amore, anche se un po' struggente, ma sempre amore.
È anche molto più bella perché lancia veramente il messaggio del "l'amore non ha genere", e quando arriva è bellissimo non importa il genere della persona. Io almeno l'ho vista così poi se voi ci vedete altro non lo so.
Poi sta cosa che gli stranieri non vedono l'amicizia in modo platonico me la dovete spiegare per favore 😂.

Sanremo is not a selection for Eurovision, Sanremo was born 5 years before Eurovision ... the winner of Sanremo can also decide not to participate in Eurovision as in 2016 when they won the band GLI STADIO but Francesca Michelin participated in Eurovision who finished second

2:05 It's actually BLANCO, like "white" in Spanish 😊 You've mentioned the stage and I have to say I was really impressed this year, it was truly beautiful. The Orchestra? Always the best thing of Sanremo. Unfortunately there's not gonna be any live thing in ESC (except for the voices, of course) but the base can have strings and they can call some musicians to join on stage with them if they want recreate this atmosphere. It won't be the same but it would only be for staging purpose. The song is quite simple and it's not intended to be a disrespectful comment, sometimes less is more, but it works. Their voices harmonize perfectly, Mahmood has his own style that makes the song really come alive and Blanco get in very well. A nice bonus is going to be the majority of Italian audience in the arena that can sing along here and there, if that's allowed, I don't know. Let's see what happens. For now we (Italians) have new Sanremo winners, there's time for ESC 😉 ps: can't wait to see Måneskin coming back in May 🤘🎸
I think its a great piece of song writing. i have loved 2 of italy's ballads, fai rumore and essentiale, often the opposite of the year before wins so this song has every chance of doing well. i love the classic old fashioned instrumentation in parts and then the totally modern elements and....the studio cut is gorge, the instrumentation on it is divine and I have no worry that the orchestra would not be there, although i hoped italy would bring it back (lose the LED) bring back the orchestra.! bravo Italy (I hope Il Volo perform in the final show too!)

The fact is nobody could predict Maneskin would win last year- i clearly remember they weren't the favourite until the reharsals come out- predictions in fact are useless until the performace at eurovision- Without a doubt thos the song will do great, it is already doing great.
It WILL qualify because Italy is big 5 and also the host, so they are automatically in the final. 🙂
As for the song, Sanremo is its own thing, it’s not the National Selection for Eurovision, that’s why the most authentic songs win, and not the most Eurovision ready. They chose the best song, perhaps a bit risky for Eurovision, but Italy does this pretty much every year and never fails to be honest. I know they’re gonna do well. 5:52 Italy is one of the Big 5 countries so they go straight to the final without having to pass the semi-final. And even when they weren't in the Big five, they would be automatic qualifiers anyway this year cause they're this year's host country. So we're gonna see Mahmood and Blanco in the final for sure 😉

You may want to check the mv for a performance more similar to the one at Esc, by the way you are right, they were performing a kind of debate on stage since the song is portraying the typical dynamic in a relashionship where 2 ppl have feelings for eachother but one is not able to express them and ends up involuntarily or sometimes voluntarily hurting the other while the other gets tired to be on the receiving end of mean things... Brividi means goosebumps, chills, shivers and all the lyrics are really poetic...
Are we going to win Esc? Probably not but honestly, does it matter? We already won last year what does matter is to send a beautiful song well performed and this gives goosebumps...

The issue for Italy in ESC is that they send there Sanremo winners... and Sanremo has a completely different style than ESC. So... this song was perfect for Sanremo, but it clearly not the best for ESC. Maneskin zitti e buoni and Mahmood Soldi were two clear exceptions for Sanremo... and did very good in ESC. Anyway, this is pure quality and style.. so I hope they can do well also in ESC... maybe not winning... but let's say top 5 or so

As you said, the real peculiarity of this song is that it is very special and unique. It is not a simple traditional ballad, but it is very modern, innovative and this creates an aura of magic in it. It wasn't my favorite but it deserved the victory anyway: both Mahmood and Blanco are really famous in Italy, especially among young people. Blanco had a huge success in 2021, and so this song represents modern Italian music well. We probably won't win, but if this song has tickled both foreign and Italian people from the start, I think it will still end quite well (especially for being the host entry).

Hey, Noosh, just came here to say that I love your content, and for a little correction... it's BLANCO, not Bianco (bianco means "white", though, so it's absolutely normal that you mixed up!)
Well, now it's easy to say that about maneskin but in the first reactions last year not everybody was convinced it would have won lol anyway it won't win but it will do well for sure. And the strings are also in the studio version (contrary to maneskin) so I guess there will be even in eurovision.

You should definitely react to "Notti in Bianco" by Blanco, it was his most famous song before Sanremo and just prepare yourself to be shocked! It's completely different and so energetic, you can see why he is considered so iconic. If you liked Maneskin, you will love it!
