This is actually a relatively old combo I'm kinda confused how he made it good I've played this deck before
I play the tcg with one friend of mine irl once in a very long while. I have a deck with the Exodia cards and he somehow would get exodia cards so easily. As if his luck was too good😢
Dude has the most wholesome back story but plays the most toxic decks
Jeff is the only person legally allowed to play degenerate stun decks.

Now we realize Mystic Mine was just merely contained his true power.
If I remember one of the MBT tournaments he won he did so with a Barrier Statue Stun which he had determined would be better because the meta decks had too much spell and trap destruction for Mine.

He controlled more braincells than mystic mine, so they were all negated. It wasnt until mystic mine was banned that they were freed and his true potential was know.
This is why I fucking love this game. No other game could you get a bunch of grown men chanting ONE MORE PIECE as an old man shuffles cards. It was so much fun
Almost as good as having to chant for the winged dragon of Ra every time you summon it.

It was mainly because learning every card would take too long. Stun simplified the game, don’t need to learn your opponents cards if they can’t play the game. Same with this ftk, Exodia is solitaire with extra steps.

For most decks, you have to learn the matchups for all of the meta decks of the time, your win con vs those decks going 1st or 2nd, proper non-engine and sideboarding to optimize the matchups, etc. With stun or solitaire decks like the ones Jeff plays, your deck is doing the same thing every time. You don't have different combo lines or endboards, and non-engine exists solely to ensure your game plan can be executed.
At most, he just needs to be aware of what kind of tools the current meta decks have, and what kind of solitaire bullshit deck he believes circumvents those tools the best, like when he played Barrier Statue because of all of the Mystic Mine hate people were playing in late 2022.

I played against Jeff during a tournament once. Somehow, still one of my favorite and most memorable matches despite playing against Mystic Mine, my loss ending my rogue deck win streak, and (combined with another loss the next round) the eventual putting me at 5-2 and knocking me from Top Cut.
12/10 worth it to play against Jeff. Guy is super nice.

That's crazy! I remember this guy use to go to our locals and support his son while he was playing in tournaments. He ended up helping me get a set of Super rare Black metal dragons through trades. That was back in like 2018!
