    I want to try an anatomical toe on socks.That sounds great! I have recently tried the shadow wrap short row heel and it’s awesome! Easy, and no holes, no counting. My favorite, for sure.

    You can knit in your cast-on ends as well! I only ever have the toe end to weave in.

    My favorite heels are short row. I switch between either the Fish Lips Kiss heel or the Shadow Wrap heel. They are similar in that they both use twin stitches.

      How did those socks work out? Did you manage to get them done?

    I tried the anatomical toe once, but the angle was too severe/angled for my toes in the pattern I used. I re-designed it, but haven’t tried it yet. I totally forgot about it until you mentioned it. I like to try different heels and just bought a pattern that starts with the heel with a provisional cast on. I may save that for your sock week!

    Hello there! Do you have any pattern or receipe for the ergonomic toe for socks please ? I would like to try but I can’t figure out how to do. Thank you.
    Love your numerous tutorials. Brilliant! I learn a lot even if I know how to knit from my youngest age.

    6. Lanolize their socks (and other knitwork) 😜 Nothing that takes care of your wool better than a lanolin bath.

      What is Lanolize?

    • @DesmitskesUnplugged
      @DesmitskesUnplugged Před 2 lety +3

      @@619to253 Putting it in a lanolin bath. :) Lanolin is natural wool fat. Wool naturally contains lanolin, but in yarns, this is washed away. By lanolizing your wool, you give it that natural protection back. Wool needs lanolin to be healthy, but lanolin is a fat and our society has this crazy anti-fat thing going on. Real wool lovers lanolize their wool to protect it and keep it healthy.

    Any tips for a good heel technique for high instep folks? I have tried several heels and all of them feel very tight getting my foot in and out of that “turn.”

    • @Blaize24
      @Blaize24 Před 2 lety +4

      Measure from your outside ankle bone to the floor. Knit a top down heel flap and gusset sock. Make your heel flap the same length as what you measured. This means more gusset decreases, but gives you the room for your instep.
      My measurement is three inches which works out to 48 rows at my gauge. Yours will be different depending on your measurement and gauge.
      Short row, afterthought, etc. heels don't fit my instep at all.

    • @sarahschira9105
      @sarahschira9105 Před 2 lety +2

      Heel flap and gusset. I add extra rows to the flap to create even more room.

    Always learn something when I watch you. Never heard of the assymetrical toe you talked about. I just did the shadow wrap heel and liked it even better than the FLK. Someday I’ll get up my nerve to try an afterthought. 🧶💕🧶
