Even though Osman was not her real child but she loved him like her own child it was very sad when Osman killed her own son mehmed...though...she loved him..

The real story kosem never liked her step son Othman she despised him, she did everything she could to bring him down from his crown 👑 with Alim sultan the mother of Mustapha, story said they even killed his newly born child by a deviated arrow in a ceremony and it s labelled as accident, all in all she cared more about her real son Murad and its ascension about her power as mother sultan and regency of the empire on behalf of Murad until his coming legal age but karma did not forget her..God is almighty, the very dear sons of her, Murad and Ibrahim did everything to send her away time and again and Murad did kill her other son the innocent Kasim...then her favorite sultan turhan did bring reign to an end..
The parallels between Kosem and Hurrem is fascinating. Hurrem's biggest mistake was that she could not love another woman's son enough to trust him and that ended badly. Kosem loved another woman's son too much, more than her own, gave him everything and he betrayed her.
I think you did not understand the situation which Hurrem and Kosem faced. Mustafa had a mother already alive to guide him and incase if he ascended the throne he had to kill the remaining heirs of the throne according to the Ottoman law, which belive me however much you say he loved his brothers etc. and would not do it, but he would have done so. Power is inevitable. If real brothers can not get over it, a step brother wouldn't definitely be over it. Secondly Osman didn't have a mother that means Kosem was her mother as he called her Valide. If time permits, go back to the series and watch carefully when Mahfiruze was alive, Kosem did not pay such importance or love to Osman, she still considered him as one of Ahmed's son but no such affection but after Mahfiruze's death, things changed and she started seeing Osman as her son. Therefore, if Osman ascended the throne, she assumed he would not do anything to her sons as she would be the Valida and she could guide him but we saw how things turned out with Osman killing Mehmet. Also, talking about Mustafa, Hurrem could never trust him, big reason being Mahidevran and how easily he was manipulated by her. I don't know if you remember or not, one of Hurrem and Mustafa's scene in the garden where they walked together. There Mustafa said to be careful of him as he knows she has children of her own. Before this, Hurrem was never against Mustafa, she never tried to do anything to him but this statement of him warned her that if time comes Mustafa however a great brother he seems to be upfront, will not be there for her children. Remember after this particular scene only did she try to poison him.
The difference between Hurrem and Kosem is that Mustafa's mother was still alive; meanwhile, with Osman his mother was dead. Kosem saw that Osman was weak without a mother and took him in. Mustafa was being raised by his own mother who was already guiding him to ascend the throne and top kill his brothers.

This is further proven because in history when osman became sultan, he made his wet nurse the valide sultan rather than kosem, who he banished to the old Palace. She perhaps even had a part in his dethronement.

She did not predict the future...this is one of Ottoman's laws.. as soon as a Sultan rises to the throne he has to kill all the remaining heirs of the throne...Ahmed was an exception coz he was a minor around 12 when he ascended the throne that's why Mustafa's life was spared in case something happened to Ahmed so that the Ottoman bloodline would not be jeopardized.
I think i love the bond of Osman and kosem more than kosem and Murat because in end osam loved his mother and he was really guilty what he did but in end he also die
Murad and osman were very different. Osman was completely wrong and kösem was right, but not everything murad did was wrong. Murad loved his mother very much until his death. Osman soon became suspicious of kösem, but if you look at the beginning of the second season, Murad did not even suspect that his mother had done anything against him. I think Murad and kösem's love was more beautiful, but I can not say which one was more, because we can not say which child the mother loves the most !!
Well obviously Kosem loved him as her own, after-all he was the child of Ahmed.
anastasia and this kosem is my favorite character literally ever written in any type of capacity bc she's the epitome of a strong-minded, caring, empathetic, sympathetic person. she took in a little baby when she could've schemed to have him killed. and in return, he kills her first born biological child and sends her away. but, bc her love for him was so strong she still chose to forgive him and see past it so she didn't lose two sons at once. this kosem would've never done any of the things the older kosem did. but kosem as a character is sooo well written. the writers outdid themselves. they didn't disappoint, even until the very end. also, this edit is so gorgeous and heartbreaking. very terrific job!
