John Sands (Rod Cameron), a reformed gunman, now a storekeeper in a Mexican border town, again straps on gun belt and six-shooters to find the killer of his brother. Fists and bullets fly when he finds that he must contend not only with badmen, but with lawmen who remember his outlaw past. Shot amidst rugged Lone Pine, California scenery in glowing Sepiatone.

While Sands was telling about his meeting with Billy the Kid, the background piano was playing a song that my mother called Over the Waves 🌊. When she would sit down at the piano that was always the first song that she would play. She didn’t read a word of music 🎼, yet she played both the piano and guitar 🎸. I’m 78 years old now and she’s been gone for many years now, but, oh my, how I wish that I could hear her play and sing 🎶. just one more time. 😢😢😢😢
That's awesome! I wish more folks would miss and respect our elders . I feel most of the new generation doesn't see the value of parents and grandparents .
Thanks for sharing your story with us
Sorry for your loss, I'm 65 and so blessed to still have my 82 yr. old Mom. We talk everyday and she can still drive to visit whenever she wants.
@@karlamandrell3954 You have good genes in your family. You are indeed blessed.
Some know that little tune as "Down Yonder." Willy Nelson's sister plays it on his album, "Redheaded Stranger."
1948, year I was born. These were the kind of folks that brought me into this world, pard.
Rod Cameron is an under appreciated western star! If you want to see another really good one starting Rod Cameron watch “Ride the Man Down”!
Love and thanks from Germany.
A great Western.
Thank YOU FOR a Great BEAUTIFUL Movie!
I watched his movie in the 1950s when a kid. Cowboys have always been my heroes.
Thank you for watching it again
there's only one tv/movie first - Westerns! l watch many on yt.
Back in the early days cowboys and Indians was the run of the mill!....popular choice, because sometimes cliffhangers are offered to keep the viewers on edge to see what is going to happen in the next chapter!......
How old are you ?

Finally a western with a great story line that didn't make you feel rushed. Great movie glad I watched it.
There with you 100 percent.
in my opinion this film is a masterpiece , I loved it from start to end . Thank you so much for sharing .
Wow. Glad I watched, turned out to be a pretty badass movie. And china-doll Cathy Downs!! What a gem.
As a lover of old westerns, this was a gem, always liked Rod Cameron.
Yeah, he was hard to dislike!
I agree with both of you !
Good Western, great role by Rod Cameron as John Sands, a trader and former gunman out to avenge his brother's demise. Catchy throughout, pleasant soundtrack, beautiful females too. Sole negative: constant advert interruptions. Thanks for sharing
Not a bad horse opera. Years later, it would be remade as "The Texican", starring Audie Murphy.💀
Wonderful western - the cowboy/hero has a great presence - big, strong, confident, and fast with the gun; and the two ladies in the mix are both really beautiful, bringing some romance to add another layer of interest to the story - really enjoyed watching this movie -thank you so much!
That big, strong, laconic man is Rod Cameron.
Out of many westerns i have watched this is pretty good story and screenplay. i like the Sands dialogues delivery.
Rod🌟 Cameron wonderful cowboy star🌟 this movie had it all great acting🌟 excellent Script 🌟for its time amazing ⭐
This is classic five star 🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟movie 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥 a must see 👀👀👀👀👀
I liked how Rod CAMERON could thumb the hammers and fire both guns at once. Have to have pretty big hands. One of my favorite westerns that many don't even know about.
I always stop for a Rod Cameron movie whenever I find one. As well as great movies, Rod had a couple of great TV series too. "Coronado 9" and "State Trooper"
"Some things a man's got no right buttin' into." Thanks for the reminder, Doc.
Very good movie, keeps your attention the entire time...I recommend highly.
Stupendous to watch a good old black & white western after ages with a good storyline, music & some fine acting.
PERFECT👏👏👏👏👏
Very gud movie great actor ❤ it
A very good western movie,well acted.Thank you,for showing,sharing it.
Good one liners too.
Man, I sure had to kiss a lot of frogs to find this Prince of a Western ! Highly recommended.
Very good movie.
Really enjoyed it.
Another great western with everybody in it.
Really great. A hidden treasure to me. First viewing at 72.
Glad you enjoyed it!
6 ft 5 ROD CAMERON
Great actor!
Great actor I love he's movies
Some actors are naturally perfect to act the part because they have the voice and truly everything that make the movie genuine to believe it really happened!......
Western movies like they should be
Lovely gunfighter movie!!
An enjoyable nice and well done movie.
It's rare these days I come across a western I have not seen so thank you to the poster.
That parasol is the smallest damn thing I have ever seen.
Thanks for watching
Rod Cameron, excellent for westerns.
Great movie .. plenty of action .. thoroughly enjoyed it.
😍😍😍
Oh this one I realy love to the maximum. Even those romantc scenes. Its all in there to show how a good man could act and take care for his own business in harmony with the universe.
A good old movie, good actors, good story. Rod Cameron was a famous actor in the era, he was really good. *Recommend "Ride the Man Down", an Excellent Movie starring Cameron.*
BEST WESTERN EVER
Whoever did the script writing was damn good.
The writer was Blake Edwards! I take off my hat!
...and the villain getting shot through the door! Brilliant way to make it real and memorable without having to critique the actor on his “death”. How did I miss this growing up?
Thanks very much, I've not seen that one before !
Glad you liked it!
I was 8 years old in 1948 but I still miss the silver screen.
Great post. Excellent movie and story.
The music was my favorite part of this movie. However, I had forgotten how tall and good looking Randolph Scott was. 😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Uh oh, no wonder I hadn't remembered how good looking Randolph Scott was or how tall. That was Rod Cameron. And he was also taller than Randolph Scott. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
An old movie. But a great movie.
Good movie. Rod Cameron was seemingly an affable type guy. Easy to like his easy going nature. 🎥
Lots of good movies were made in that era. Most better than some of them now. Good morals and ideals. Not just killing for the sake of killing or even sometimes just for the fun of it!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

" well worth the watch 👍👍🇺🇸 "
A good Movie! I enjoyed it😊
😍😍
In the story, I hope they get marry and live happily ever after!
This movie was a double attraction with "Short Grass" when I was a boy in the 1950's. Could only pass the cinema and stare at the bill board.
Wahooow such a long time ago, thanks for watching😍😍

Clementine Carter from "My darling Clementine" 1946. Beautiful Cathy downs, durn near the prettiest girl a fella ever laid eyes on, I reckon.
Good movie!
If my dad was still alive he'd love this.
Good guys always gets the pretty girls in the old days of western movies😊
Excelente película con muy buen guión. Gracias por compartir saludos a la distancia. 🙏
32:14 “The Old Ranger” from Death Valley Days. I’d recognize that voice anywhere. What a voice.
Muy buena tenaa tv
One of my fav scenes ! The Girl can,t find her Saddle
you know from the start that this is going to be excellent entertainment
"Your Stetson's overcrowded!"
"It's a Resistol, ma'am" [wit added]
Hero Sands enjoys doing things the most difficult bull-headed way (vs a more intelligent method).
But that's Classic Western isn't it ? ☺
Strange how I have never noticed the mountains anywhere near the panhandle of Texas.
@@jesusgonzalez84 ?Alabama Hills?
Does texas have mountains?
now I've been on here lookin for westerns for a while and there lots but lots not that good and few like this one here , a real good western film
I’m from Brasil. O primeiro filme que vi de Rod Cameron foi a Adaga de Salomão,um seriado, que , no final ,sempre terminava em cena de extremo perigo para o herói .
"Washington usually takes care of it's friends." Sad to see nothing has changed since the 1880s!
I can't comment about the USA. But rest assured it's just the same, here in the UK and our political/ business system, in London; the only difference, is that it was probably said, in 1066, when William The Conqueror, fought his way into control.
@@johnbunyan5834 Haha~ BTW, I read that that chap died ugly!
Way too many ads, the last 20 minutes had 7 ads alone
Why does a gunfighter of justice always leave for somewhere in western movie ?
This film shows us that one should not have arrogant attitude that he doesn't make a mistake .
not too shabby👍🏼
Best There Is !!!! ❤
Good one...
Thank you
This was actually a pretty good movie.
Blooper, the .30-.30 wasn't on the market till 1895 though it would have been familiar to many in 1948.
'This county's just full of gentlemen'.. lol
During what years was this movie supposed to have taken place? If earlier than 1894 or 5, it made a booboo. Re: the 3030 cartridge was new in 1895, used in the new 1894 Winchester rifle.
Reed Hadley was pretty good himself.
ROD CANERON WAS A PRETTY GOOD ACTOR, THOUGH HE WASN'T ONE OF MY FAVORITES.
Gun fire in a bar and everyone just looks around . Nowadays they'd all be hiding under the table with their phone out recording rather than call police 😂
Nice ❤❤
Many many thanks
Interesting plot, apparently 2 good women.
It never gets old he killed me ha ha ha ha
My dad and Rod Cameron were pertnear twins .
Good movie but way too many commercials
She could have apologised!
Thru the years Rod Cameron has sort of grown on me - his laconic - you can trust me - iam asimple good guy
Demeanor - sort of grows on you -he tried but lacked so called charisma ! Thats ok prefer him over
some of the hot shots like Flynn- Ty Power -& even tthe Duke who fought WW2 on the back lots of hollywood
studios , unlike Fonda -Stewart - Robert Taylor & Montgomery evn 40 yr old Clark Gable - they all enlisted !
Ótimo filme.
Boa Noite!!!!
Sabe o nome em português (BR)
I think in Portugese the title is Expiação
❤
That fella looks like he is too tired to walk, appears to be dead tired
Our hero Sand sudenly developed severe stupidity at around 1:19:00 , two-fold sitting with his back to an open window. Inconsistent behavior, out of character. 👇

Blake Edwards -- as an actor.
Isn’t he married to Julie Andrews ?
@@carolcole570Yes.
1:16:06 where's Garson, upstairs last door to your left. Oops, your other left.
They list Blake Edwards in the credits. Does anyone know if it's the same Blake Edwards that was married to Julie andrews? And directed films like Victor Victoria, The Pink Panther and S.O.B. ?
Assuming so.
Yes,he is.
Hahha it’s called the panhandle after the one in Texas but the panhandle of Texas doesn’t look one bit like this ! Great big mountains hahahahah
Maybe not great big mountains 🏔 but we do have the beautiful Pali Duro Canyon in our area. 😊
Those mountains are The Alabama Hills, on the eastern slope of The Sierra Nevadas, & 'elevate' any western filmed there....
You noticed too, however there are several canyons there and while in them the horizon may at times appear to be mountains. Hollywood almost always never gets it right but real Texans know the difference.
Seems like texas has joshua trees ....seen it in another film
LoL
Duck Duck
You wasn't much of a lady, miss. And you didn't apologize after proven wrong!! Sounds one-sided to me!
The way John handles women, he’ll be visiting a lot of “valleys”...
Visual is no good w/this one.
Consider fastest gun, act like a coward.
No apologies just bs.
good movie but there are so many on screen ads it will drive you fucking nuts
Why does it seem to be all the rage 😡 now days to use the F word? Isn’t anyone intelligent enough to use their own words?🤔🤔🤔
@@winonamassingill7895 》 Its Media "grooming" . 😸
