I have that green musical biscuit jar thingy!! It plays the theme from “Love Story”. My grandma kept candy in it and there was no way to sneak candy without her hearing it!! I inherited it! 💚💚💚
The cradle is purr-fect for a cat bed. They hop in and out with no problem. A great piece to store blankets and throw pillows. Perfect for a doll collector to corral all thier favorites.
Growing up, the amber Georgian glasses were on our table each and every night for dinner in the early 60's and beyond. My mother also had the candlestick pattern pieces. This video hit all the nostalgic buttons including the 'brown wood' that my grown kids now have from my parents home. I'm so glad my kids appreciate good quality furniture from years gone by - and they didn't paint it!!
Thanks for taking us along. You have wonderful finds in your stores, and your knowledge is so impressive. Love your personality as well. You make me giggle.
Why, our school field trips always yielded such treasure. A Rainbow Bread pencil from the commercial bakery. A ruler from the Coca-Cola bottling plant. A wax paper cup of ice cream and a flat wooden spoon to eat it with from the train ride to the dairy farm. Now, what are you gonna give us Scott? I even changed my underwear and put on a clean striped cotton t-shirt for this trip. That ought to be worth something. Oh, the childhood memories are priceless.
Aw! The Georgian pattern in the amber of my youth and I can all of a sudden remember drinking out of those and feel the thumbprints. That hit me in the gut.
First of all, thanks for the memories-the-can soda in foil and egg salad sandwich! I loved the wardrobe and the cradle. I could see using the cradle for a cat bed!
I have a wardrobe just like that in my bathroom. I keep extra toiletries in the drawers. My husband built some shelving and we just set in in there to hold our towels. My mom thrifted it probably in the 1970s and my dad kept his clothes in it. I hung an old mirror above it. It’s a treasure 🥰
Coke and egg salad sandwich 😂All that furniture had me drooling. That book case could be used to store things in to sell. Lots of great stuff on display today. Love the big cut crystal bowl.
I love those coat racks. I never see them anymore. I scoop up anything prairie style when I see it. All the stores here, near Chicago, grab them and mark them up.
You saw some beautiful things today. I have my grandmother's set of Candlewick candlesticks and vase; seems as if she matched them with Boopie glasses and sherbets. That wardrobe is stunning!
I really hope that you purchased the chiffarobe. I loved all the old pcs of furniture. You could also use that cradle for storing winter blankets, quilts. Also, if you chose to get another feline, I bet they would make it their bed, especially if you had blankets, pillows and such in it. 😊
Dear Scott…. Looking for a cure? There is NO cure. I’ve been a collector for 50+ years and the addiction gets worse. 😂. Oh that antique furniture! Fabulous. Those cradles were popular in the 1970s and I had one for my daughter in 1970. Not sure it was any safer than the old one you found, but we used them! Looking forward to your haul.
Love coming along on your forays. Sweet cradle, ideal for that spare afghan at the foot of the bed and great aunt trudys bye lo baby doll. Best item the willow platter, score!🥰👍
Wowie Zowie, that chifferobe!!! I was as excited as you were when I saw it, because I know you've been looking for one for quite awhile! That particular one ticks off all of the boxes very nicely! It's perfect, I love it, and it was reasonably priced! Awesome score, Scott! Nice! 😍(Gah! The stuff you find is incredible!)
That scrolled, oak dining room piece is lovely. And, even with many walk-in closets, I pick up wardrobes and dressers all the time. I have 6 in my bedroom.
We sure did have a wonderful time shopping today! My favourite was the flow blue platter for only $1.59!! ( if memory serves…very cheap anyway, well done! ) 🇨🇦👏
That baby dall crib would make a nice towel and/or blanket holder. Maybe use it to keep some extra pillows. There were some great furniture pieces today!
I love the old cradle, if I had the room, and I don't, I would get one to put my dolls in. I have my great grandmother's composition toddler doll and she would look nice in that.
Awesome video! You have the greatest stores there on the East coast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and making the whole video so much fun. I learn a lot every time I see your videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The Victorian cradle was “to die for.”❤❤❤❤
I do hope you got the chiffarobe, it suits you to a Tee 😊. And i would absolutely put a baby in that cradle, albeit a very tiny one. Pad it out with a proper mattress and bumper guards and it would be just fine, we had an old family cradle that was used while all of us were very tiny, it was perfect for putting the newborn in when all those inquisitive family and friends make those first calls and want to take pictures. You were in a spendy mood today! But you know, it's probably wise to get your inventory up while prices are down. Always so fun to see those shops in your area. I never find anything but pooh-pooh particle board and plastic junk around me.
Wow! Were all these treasures in one thrift store? That is like no thrift store I've ever shopped at! You really hit the thrifting jackpot with this one!
You could put a baby in the cradle these days. It's to sit beside you in the evenings while you knit and you push it with your foot. Definitely couldn't leave the baby alone in it tho. Loving your video. 😊
Great video. We all need a cure! I love how sometimes we say “I don’t need it” like we’re showing some huge restraint, but then leave with 50 things we definitely DO NEED. 😂 Life is good.
That little Ruby Red flashed compote holder was nice,so was that Green crystal jam holder with the music box lid from Japan.....nice finds....if not keepers.......
That flow blue would be $20 bucks, easy where I live. The fantastic prices for multiples would all be individually priced and high for each piece. Scott, you could store linens, blankets, and quilts in that cradle. Between my eyes popping and my jaw falling, I'm a mess. So jealous and very, very happy for you, what treasures you discover. My favorite would be that syrup jar, the flow blue and can't wait to see the lamp. Oh, so happy you found that wardrobe for yourself. When I see items I like but can't justify buying, I'm always happy to see someone else buy them, knowing that someone will enjoy them again. Oh, and your lament about brown furniture is so on point. There is such great quality available for a steal, unlike the shoddy modern furniture. I keep waiting for you to get a store or sell pieces out of your basement. Happy thrifting.
I do hope that you got the rest of that Candlewick, the prices were fantastic and the value is in the serving and decorative pieces. That was a great shopping spree, thanks for the trip.
The whole shopping trip was terrific, although I thought you should have picked up the Pin the Tail on the Donkey games! The glass syrup and underpants was my favorite.
I hope you bought that beautiful wardrobe! I'd be going back to the thrift store where you bought the flow blue platter for $1.49!! Their prices were great!
That antique cradle would make a great plant holder. Make it so that it doesn't rock and stick some plastic at the bottom to protect it and fill it with plants. It would be beautiful on a vintage enclosed porch! And that Second Empire bookshelf would be fantastic in an old bathroom that doesn't have a closet, stuffed with fluffy towels and vintage toiletries.
That cradle would look good with my 19th century dolls. However it takes up alot of room. But that high back colonial wood chair,in my area that would be in a thrift store, maybe 10 minutes if that. You never ever see them. Thanks for the tour. Have a great dinner.
You sure have good thrift stores. It’s fun shopping with you! Such a shame that people prefer to buy cheaply made furniture when such nice treasures are available for great prices.
I have, by way of my ex-husband's family...left to me...a beautiful American Brilliant cut-glass double-handed vase....yes, you can pick it up with both hands ...it IS heavy and it IS a beauty. It has a traditional vase shape of a wide-bottom narrowing as it goes up to its "waist" and where the handles are on each side, then flaring back out at the top! I fell in love with it many years ago. Right now, I enjoy looking at it behind glass in my dining room cabinet. About 20 years ago it was valued at around $300, so I figure it's at least that or likely higher value now. When I'm gone, I'll be giving it back to the family. You got a great deal on your bowl..,that's for sure!
It's always fun when you not only find items for resale, and yourself but see things that you just want to touch and talk about ❤. By the by red glass is westmoreland wakefield and the last piece you sold i think you did well.
Best show ever! All my favorite period antiques. Did you ever read the book Blue Willow about a Depression Era family and the Blue Willow plate was their best plate. This story struck home for me because my Mom grew up on a farm in Sanpete County, Utah and they had plate with apples on it in a transfer that they let company eat off during the great depression on the 1930's. Great show!
I'm diggin' your channel! I'm learning a lot! Oh Yeah; I too was fortunate to have a bedroom set that my mom antiqued a mustard-gold color. It was really popular back in the 60s and 70s.
I have that green musical biscuit jar thingy!! It plays the theme from “Love Story”. My grandma kept candy in it and there was no way to sneak candy without her hearing it!! I inherited it! 💚💚💚
The Blue Willow platter is a steal of a deal!! A great find!!
The syrup jug with a plate is my favorite. All the best, Scott. 😊
The cradle is purr-fect for a cat bed. They hop in and out with no problem. A great piece to store blankets and throw pillows. Perfect for a doll collector to corral all thier favorites.
I would get it to give my cats rides in it!
I would get the cradle
❤hi Scott 😊

That 1920s wardrobe was so gorgeous! Definitely a handy item when you are closet deprived.
Thanks for taking us along. You have wonderful finds in your stores, and your knowledge is so impressive. Love your personality as well. You make me giggle.

Ooh! Ooh! I can see the cradle put to practical use filled with throw pillows and lap blankets. Ooh! Ooh!
Good evening Scott ❤

Hello from down under. Had so much fun shopping with you Scott. Love the brown furniture.
Well, that was a particularly (= delightfully) bonkers intro 😆 Good morning from sunny, early-autumnal, south-east of England.
Very fun and informative trip. I really liked the syrup jar with it's lid AND underpants. All the furniture was amazing and I love brown furniture.😊
Glad to see you back in the thrifts. 😃
Nice crandle.....good bed for a cat. ESPECIALLY a black one!

Hope you had a wonderful meal. I liked the HA child's set.😊
Always fun going along with you Scott! The Victorian cradle would make a very fancy pet bed!
My favorite item was the syrup pitcher. Great video!
I'd buy that donkey game. I doubt my nephew nor his kids would know what that is at Christmas.
Wow! Were all these treasures in one thrift store? That is like no thrift store I've ever shopped at! You really hit the thrifting jackpot with this one!
😍 old furniture
Time to open an antique mall space again, you have to pass on so many good items.
You could put a baby in the cradle these days. It's to sit beside you in the evenings while you knit and you push it with your foot. Definitely couldn't leave the baby alone in it tho. Loving your video. 😊

That was a great shopping spree, thanks for the trip.
You nearly gave an old woman a heart attack with that ABP glass bowl when you said $8. That's a good one Scott. You should keep that one for yourself.
The wardrobe made me so excited😂
Yes scott, I turned my nose up at that on blue willow and said, yes to the other.
I love brown furniture
The whole shopping trip was terrific, although I thought you should have picked up the Pin the Tail on the Donkey games! The glass syrup and underpants was my favorite.
I hope you bought that beautiful wardrobe! I'd be going back to the thrift store where you bought the flow blue platter for $1.49!! Their prices were great!
I LOVED that syrup holder on the Christmas table. Wowser for sure. Donna xoxo
Love the Bookcase and Cradle 🐈⬛😀❤️
Did anyone else spot that woven basket in the shape of a cottage longingly?
My Dream vacation would be to go to OCS’s favorite thrift stores.
That antique cradle would make a great plant holder. Make it so that it doesn't rock and stick some plastic at the bottom to protect it and fill it with plants. You sure have good thrift stores. It’s fun shopping with you! Such a shame that people prefer to buy cheaply made furniture when such nice treasures are available for great prices.
My fave item: the American Brilliant cut-glass bowl! Yes, so many of these treasures, never to be made again...in this country! Thanks!
I just love how you enjoy old things❤

Actually "brown furniture" is back in style Scott! Thankfully, farmhouse is out. Fun trip, I appreciate you.
The second Empire Bookcase would be nice for a lawyer with old or new Law books.....
It's always fun when you not only find items for resale, and yourself but see things that you just want to touch and talk about ❤. By the by red glass is westmoreland wakefield and the last piece you sold i think you did well.
I’m loving the wardrobe, the bookcase, syrup set and lamp. Shake a leg 🙂
I hope you bought that beautiful wardrobe cabinet for yourself. 💚
I thought the lamp was a 1980's nightmare. That was a good lesson
Love the furniture finds in your thrift stores.
Every piece is😊😊

Oh, I wish you were my shopper. Lol, or I wish I had those shops near me.
I love "brown" furniture! My 1911 house is furnished with it. I could never paint it! That bookcase....swoon.
I'm diggin' your channel! I'm learning a lot! Oh Yeah; I too was fortunate to have a bedroom set that my mom antiqued a mustard-gold color. It was really popular back in the 60s and 70s.
Probably controversial, but my thought when I saw the cradle was to remove the front side of it and convert it into a swinging bench
