This is the absolute truth. Every organisation either spiritual or not have their rules and standards. Its your choice to either comply or go somewhere else. The annoying ones are they people who bring their displeasure to the social media contributing to bad mouthing christianity as a whole.

I love the idea of intro after PC. Beyond parents knowing, some other crucial family members need to be aware so they are not seeing themselves on the engagement day.
We really had to do it because we couldn’t even settle with the idea of our parents just meeting and knowing themselves at our engagement 😒😒🤦♀️😂

I remember going with 2 pairs of shoes too, the one rejected for being high and the accepted one.
I had plans to change for the reception but the lower one was very convenient for dancing that I didn’t bother again.
Approaching issues peacefully keeps troubles away.
In all, we had a good ride with the MC in my state of residence where the process began and in Lagos where the wedding held.

As people of God, we shall be praying that God helps those men and women in such MCs to do the will of God, instead putting yokes of bondage on people. It carnality and unrighteous to impose what is not needful on children of in the name of the Lord. May God help us all to embrace the life of Christ and do away with 'religion'. God used our MC then to save me from the hand of a brother who came with a lie. They told us after the interview that God said there was a hidden thing and we should go ask ourselves questions. That's how the process of discovery began. So, I know the important of MCs when the members submit to the Holy Spirit and not just man-made rules.

Honestly, no time to say no time, MC didn't even bother asking us to propose again, they assumed we had proposed because my husband was not from deeper life. Funny enough they just approved our PC without proposal and I was like my fiance must propose to me oooo, so in my own case we had a nice proposal.
When my Dad saw the video of my wedding dress when I went for sizing, he was like you already know deeper life oooo, after how many years now. My dress didn't have one single adjustment and it was so beautiful, thanks to sewdelightful too. She understood me perfectly.

My POV; I feel like it's wrong the way they go about it. You can't possibly want to spend the rest of your life with me and the first person you tell is a committee . For goodness sake you're getting married to the lady. I think the ideal thing to do is to formally ask the lady then when there's an agreement with both parties then the committee comes in of course. Just imagine the lady says no ? I know the Church has their own rules but some things should be realistic .
Hmnmm…well, you may have a point, but you see, with institutions, organizations and denominations, they have systems and structures. This is what obtains in DL even before some of us were born 😃😃 and they haven’t seen a need to amend it, it’s not us that will tell the leadership what to do. I believe some of these guidelines were put in place to curb some excesses so if anyone chooses to follow it, then fine.
You know in this video, I stated it really, that if a brother goes to MC without telling me, I would really say No, because personally, I do not think I would have married a stranger 😬 who just says I prayed and that is it; and this is my preference.
Another person would say if you come and tell me, without going through the church first, I would turn you down; I have heard this very well. So, make everybody choose their choice, so long it is not a sin.

@@TheJoyedTribeyou are right dear sister. The church is doing all it takes to preserve purity in the body of Christ but our generation of youth this days dont understand. Some of them can bring worldliness into the church to tarnish the body of Christ. I gave my life to Jesus in Deeper life and my husband and I are Deeper life members. We were on the campus during our nursing education. Attend the campus fellowship, we have never talk and joke with each other or laugh not to talk of closeness. When he took my name to committee and was given the go ahead to see and approached me was on Friday Revival Hour during closing time. He just came to me that he wants to see me, and then we were just behind some brethren. Then he proposed that God is leading him to me for marriage. I was surprised then I asked him again not because I didn't hard him, and he repeated himself that God is leading him to me for marriage. I said ok I have heard what you said, but give me sometime to pray and find out from God. To sum up, I gave him yes and these marriage committee that so many young one are complaining about, we have had a wonderful time with them. Today we are happy couple with two blessed children. The principle put in place is good. People should also examine themselves and their motives please. I come in peace.
You are the wrong one, they do that to protect you from confusion, what if different persons come to propose to you without the consent of the MC,do you know how confused it will be?
It's not a perfect rule but it's actually to protect sisters from being proposed to by different brothers at once, or a brother proposing to multiple sisters at once.

We had a good ride with the MC.
They also talked about my gown that it was too long as it mustn't cover my shoe. I asked my tailor to fold and tsck it and in my mind I said I would loose it at the reception but I didn't eventually, i just realized that the folding helped me sef.
That shoe of yours that was rejected was exactly what I wore o only that mine is silver, when I showed it to the MC, they said "it's okay, it's exactly 2 inches" 😂😂😂😂
When we went for our final interview, the MC asked us (my husband and I) what areas do we need think they need to improve and we told them to upgrade on the topics for discussion as what's in that pamphlet isnt really sufficient, in fact, we gave them suggestion.
My husband and I made use of a pre-marital book for discussion from bro. Moses Ogianyo of Peace House, mehn, that book is loaded.
We also went through Sunday Anani's courtship class.
Long and short of my gist is that we had a good ride with the MC.
My husband propsed to me at an eatery, Chicken Republic specifically.

Every state MC in DLBC has her own traditional pattern apart from National format or patterns . Also it depends on the people's exposure or understanding. Some MC are holier than thou and still want to introduce their old lifestyles.
They can accept the shoes they rejected from you in other DLBC because it is not too high. In every thing let's do all to the glory of God. Your happiness and blissful home should be of almost desire as newly couple because wedding is just a day.

Infact, I still got to use it on the day because wen I wore the second blocked heel shoe, my dress was touching the floor and they didn’t want it to be sweeping the floor🤦♀️😂 so i eventually used it and changed later.
