The Pound Coin wasn't introduced until 1983 and the Pound Note ceased to be legal tender in 1988.
The Two Pound Coin was introduced in 1998.
I loved this show when i was a kid. Yes it does contain racist language and innuendo but Eddie was always being shown up for his racist attitudes and was usually the butt of the joke in the end.
Personally I don't think it's as bad as some would have you believe.
That's the point people miss, these 70s shows werent advocating racism they were taking the piss out of racists showing them for being the morons they were amidst the increase of immigration happening in that decade, the same went for til death us do part. Alf was a moronic bigot who didn't know anything and was shown up for being a fool every episode. The problem arose because actual racists and bigots who related to these morons then saw them as mascots for their own views and ofcourse that's when liberals decided the programs themselves must be racist, everyone unfortunately missed the point of the show.
You are such a great guy, that you can see humour in the series and not be offended,

Frank Williams(shop manager) was the vicar in Dad's Army! He died in2022 aged 90.
He did well to make it to the 2020s. I'm guessing Ian Lavender is the last cast member still alive now.

Didn’t like Joan and Barbie falling out shame they did that but glad Eddie got what he deserved as always. Still fun to watch.
And what do you think of today’s society?? Do we still deserve what’s happened with our kindness to the rest of the world 🌍?? . This was a great show at the time people still had a sense of humour. Not no more though good old days gone forever fella. 🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧👍🏼
@@section5760 Today’s society is just how God said it would be in the end times, things will get worse and worse and good will be called bad and bad will be called good. I believe we are in those days. God’s word said that also in the end days there would be many offences. He should know as people were greatly offended by Him back than and especially today.
We may not be able to control what others say or do but we can control what we say and do before God.
This show is understandably going to cause great offence but I can appreciate the British humour as it’s our sense of humour and the things Eddie says make me cringe, but his comments about being black are so ridiculous that it becomes hilarious for some people but others are quick to be offended about everything and anything. The funny thing is Eddie is always made a fool but who is offended by that?
As a Christian I am limited to what I watch and generally safer with older sitcoms as no bad language and I love the humour back then.
If we followed the first two greatest commandment..”Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength.” “Love your neighbour as yourself.” The world world look a lot better than it does today.✨
