You see, at the end of the game Miles absorbs the giant blast meant to destroy his city and released it high above the skyline in order to keep people from being hurt. Well Miles, there is a slight problem with your solution. Miles, I am sorry to tell you that you did NOT save the city. Why? Watch to find out!

To take devil’s advocate: Miles likely absorbed enough energy so the reactor stopped going super critical which means the core still exists but is still dangerous just buying enough time for safe containment
that and the fuel source wouldn't be converting all of its fuel into electricity all at once. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they remove it in a previous shot? May need to watch the cutscene myself but he wouldn't need to absorb the entirety of the electrical energy at once
Plus Miles would only need to release enough to not be overcharged. He probably still would have had electrical charge in him afterwards
I was thinking the exact same
But again you cant take into account what you haven't been told, or there would be way too many variables clogging it up. It's never clear how much miles absorbs and how much he electrically discharges. So we have to take the absolute we have in this instance and assume he took all of it
this may be a bit of a stretch... but maybe, just maybe... they were lying about their product.

I mean, he didn’t really “destroy” it. He just wasn’t able to *stop* it from being destroyed.
Exactly, he failed to stop the Tinkerers plan, not intentionally destroy the city.
Or he just didn’t destroy anything. He did say he is a human capacitor. Not a battery. Batteries when fail can explode capacitors when fail just neutralise.
I feel like Miles acts less like a capacitor, and more like an energy converter. Sure, he stores up massive amounts of energy at once. But whenever he absorbs Nuform, he's not letting out Nuform immediately afterward. It's just straight bio-electricity. My belief is that Miles is capable of transforming energy sources inside of him into his own bio-electric currents, allowing him to semi-harmlessly release the energy in bursts. That would explain why Harlem remains unaffected from the distance they're at. While yes, he did release a giant amount of energy, the most equivalent thing to compare it to wouldn't be a nuclear warhead, but an electromagnetic pulse. At most, a good chunk of the east coast would have lost its power until the electricity fully dispersed.

Miles still had a substantial amount of energy within him after the "discharge", and so did the reactor. He only absorbed enough energy to prevent it from going critical. Therefore your calculations are way off since you don't seem to take any of this into account.
Also if the website is taking the nuclear fallout into consideration wouldn't the damage be way less significant? unless the blast still had the same properties as a nuclear bomb
@@thenotsogoatedanimator777 Yeah, it probably wouldn't have the same properties. Electricity is not the same as an explosion

True
Miles deserves better
Wouldn't Miles have an electrical discharge and knock out the grid, etc. as opposed to an energy discharge? What would cause the concussive wave in his case?
that discharge was DEFINITELY energy, lightning doesn't go horizontally
@@Ty-yt3lj Lightning is generated by clouds
@@ProfAzimov lightning is just electrostatic discharge. If you hooked it up the right way, you could probably generate it with a steam locomotive
@@Ty-yt3lj lightning does, in fact, go horizontally sometimes. (it sometimes sparks between clouds). Given the ridiculous energies involved, lighting going sideways is not the most ridiculous thing here. This is still energy, just less dangerous than a nuclear bomb(though it would definitely produce an explosion because it would heat up the air around miles to a ridiculous extent as the electricity passed through it. Also, every citizen of new york not in an extremely well insulated space would be struck by lightning like 37 times and would be super dead)
Amazing theory, but one important note about the method: Miles Morales' bioelectricity allows him to store energy in the form of chemical, not nuclear energy. This means that an electric discharge of this energy wouldn't exactly have the same consequences as a nuclear fission explosion. This small difference could potentially lead to a widely different conclusion about what would realistically happen in such circumstances, couldn't it? :) Perhaps Harlem wasn't instantly vaporised
Exactly! Thankyou someone said it, harlem would probably have a long last black out threw new york city, but not explode or be vaporized
As ridiculous as some things in this game, the explosion didn't look like a nuclear blast, but like an electrical explosion, a discharge.
Now I want a theory where Matpat sees if turning nuclear energy into electrical that way is possible, and what the effect would be
Well, I'm not electrian, but from my knowledge, that much electricity is basically a glorified EMP bomb, and since almost all of us use tech to survive and make our lives decent, there'd still be a lot of dead people, you just wouldn't have any of the building collapsing.
And yes, Eva. Nuclear energy can be turned into electrical. That's the point of nuclear power plants. Split a few atoms, use the discharged energy and coolant to make more atoms split, use profit energy to power batteries on a massive scale, use wires to spread that power to power grids, profit.
@@deadersurvival4716 In a nuclear power plant the controlled reaction does release energy, but it is thermal energy used to heat water either directly or indirectly and create steam, which will rise and spin turbines thereby generating electricity.
@@iamtfred Correct, so the conversion is nuclear energy>thermal>kinetic>electrical.

Fair point. Spider-Man doesn't have a cape. Looks like the kind of thing she would make.
Lol
@Aaron Wells and Hulk's Incredible pants
To address your clothes being invisible gripe, I believe Miles's invisibility functions by bending light around him. Comic Peter Parker clings to walls by manipulating bioelectricity as well, and that passes through clothing. Miles's electrical shocks and invisibility are just an extension of that power.
If the field passes through, you must call it true.
How does he see if light goes around him? Video game logic...
8:37 are you feeling it now mr.krabs?
I wouldn’t be surprised if his suit works just like Violet’s suit in the Incredibles tbh. Camouflages when he does!
Yeah, but neither Peter nor Miles knew he could do it until the bridge attack, which was after he was gifted Whatever suit Peter gave him, and when he made the Classic suit
Only problem with that is that camo works with the sportswear and great responsibility suits. Sportswear literally has a store-bought parka on it and Peter made the great responsibility BEFORE Miles learned that he can cloak. I don’t think Peter would think to design a suit to cloak “just in case” (yes I’m ignoring the big time suit, thats because that thing is a specialized suit, not a general one). What I doubt even more is that any store would sell a parka that could cloak.
Maybe he isn't wearing a suit and camouflage his skin to look like one?
Technically though, it depends on his powers work. If his skin lets the photons just pass through him we got a problem but if he instead generates some kind of field around him that bends the light then it could cloak his clothes and anything really close to him.
Sure, he could wear a suit with similar properties, there are scientists trying to make camouflage suits like that even if they haven't succeeded so far but considering what Tony Stark and Mr Fantastic can make it should be pretty easy for either of them.
In any case, I don't think this is a major problem unlike his little blast.
Yes, but his camo worked with the starter suit peter made, before he even knew miles had camo.
I think a good answer is that when he’s touching something or when something is touching him he can turn it invisible, it’s probably limited because remember the web he used in the vault was invisible and so can all of his suits
Can we just appreciate that Miles can actually hold that much energy in his body without dying?

Also: NO CAPES!!
Your assuming:
1. The energy he absorbs is still in the form of nuclear energy.
2. he absorbs all the energy.
Nether of these assumptions are necessarily true.
1. Nuform is defiantly radioactive, however Spiderman's energy is stored biochemically, and released as burst of electricity.
He absorbs the nuclear energy, transferring it to biochemical energy, then releasing it as a burst of lightning. (i.e. no concussive blast damage)
2. He also doesn't need to absorb all the energy, only enough to stop the nuclear reaction. He managed to absorb the energy before the reactor exploded, hence most of the energy in the nuform was not released.

Couldn't have Miles just grabbed a grounding rod and just ground all the electricity? It's not like it's anything radioactive its just electricity.
Yes and no.
Yes, that would have filtered some energy, but 1) that energy still needs somewhere to go; 2) it wouldn't have been enough energy removed to prevent him from overloading, meaning the explosion would still happen.
@@deadersurvival4716 so... like he can't get rid of it fast enough or something?
He could, but discharging into the ground results in a radiating difference of potential. I.e. The voltage between the left and right leg of everyone touching the ground would be very different resulting in the discharge also going through them. It would kill everyone standing up that didn't have both feet perfectly together perpendicular to the circumference of the outgoing wave of voltage.
This happens if a powerline falls on the ground and is enough to kill if you are close enough. Discharging the amount of energy that it can be compared to a nuke would travel out for miles and murder millions.
@@kaiburrus3190 I mean, no. On top of what Chris said, he'd be vaporized instantly. Hell, him being alive long enough to talk is stretching it. The problem that he would have to prevent himself from overloading to even have a choice in anything, and that would entail that he'd have the ability to put one arm on the generator, put one arm on something that could actually handle that much voltage, then use himself as a glorified transfer wire. If he lost connection to either of them, for a split second (or more realistically to the game's setting/plot) if he can't/doesn't find something capable of taking that much electricity, he goes boom as soon as his body goes over it's limit, and with nothing limiting the generator, it wouldn't be far behind in it's explosion; assuming, of course, that his explosion doesn't set it's off.
It is a million lightning bolts at once. No grounding rod is conductive enough to avoid waste heat melting the rod before even a fraction of that energy is run through it.
“Maybe I should be an accountant for an evil company, does Amazon have any openings?”
lol
The canister was unstable, due to miles' encounter on the bridge, and Simon was cutting corners to make the reactor work in time for opening day. These weren't really thought of in this video. While the Explosion still would've been bad, the Nuform was in a very hindered condition. Not to mention Miles probably just absorbed enough energy to stop the reactor from blowing up, the reactor itself probably still has a lot of energy flowing through it.
Objection: Miles isn't releasing an explosion, he's releasing an electrical discharge.
I'm pretty sure he'd still knock out every piece of electronics in the city but other than pacemaker users or people on life support there shouldn't be that much damage
i was also thinking that. I know it's an insane amount of energy, but it's not nuclear. Like how if the energy was released as sound waves, the damage would be vastly different.
Simply say, he created an emp charge, and not a nuclear explosion.
There was no mushroom cloud so there wasn't super heating of the air
If that's the case then wouldn't it be safer for him to be on the ground?
At those power levels, there's honestly little difference. It still results in a giant, rapidly expanding ball of superheated plasma. If anything, it might be worse than a nuke, because none of the damage is converted into ionising radiation, making the blast much more efficient at destroying infrastructure.
“If you’re wondering why the underground are one of the bad guy factions here, well they send their message out by blowing up reactors.”
Cloud, Barret and Tifa: 😶😶😶😶
Mattpat when are you going to do a theory on ghasts. There’s an achievement in minecraft where you bring a ghast to the overworld and kill it “and the achievement description says :*rescue a ghast and bring it home, then kill it* and has mechanical parts in the bestiary. Suggesting it originates from the overworld and perhaps is made by the old builders. It also drops a tear when it dies which also suggests this. And theres also an unused ghast sound called: ghast’s affection. Likely supposed to be used when you rescue one.
MatPat, you keep equating explosive yield with nuclear detonation, and then equating both of those with electrical discharge. If the reactor were to go critical, that would certainly be a scenario to analyze as an explosion or nuclear event. But once Miles siphons off the power, he converts it to (bio-)electrical energy. The "explosion" in the sky isn't a detonation, it's a discharge.
Plus, at that point, the electrical resistance properties of air come into play, along with the lightning protection measures used on modern buildings. Comparing the discharge event to lightning strikes is far more accurate than comparing to nuclear bombs.
Obviously Edna Mode has a hand in creating any piece of clothing that turns invisible with the character. Duh! 😅😅

Lllooolllll.lmfao ur right
Hey, I remembered this theory and I wanted to see if you could do another one like this.
Recently, in a new episode of Fire Force, Charron took an entire blast of nuclear firepower which would have left a 500 km wide crater, absorbed it, and fired it up into the sky, hitting the moon. This got me thinking of how much energy Charron had to take into his body and if the crater left in the moon was an accurate representation of how much damage the blast would do.
What if like his bio-electricity is like a muscle, and more he uses it, the better it is. So, when he absorbs that much energy, some of it is absorbed, and with spider-man regeneration his ability to store increases in the amount and in the time of explosion, he managed to absorb a large amount of energy, the rest leaving his body in the explosion. That way it is possible that the explosion was smaller that what you would have expected compared to the entire amount energy he absorbed.
Thor, the virgin "god of thunder": faints when getting tazed
Miles, the chad sparky spiderman: Can absorb 1'180'000 lightning bolts at a time and walks away just fine
Well MatPat himself said that the amount Miles absorbed was nowhere near what Thor absorbed from the star.

czcams.com/video/mVBtKl888vE/video.html
hang on I think there's some efficiency calculations, i.e. how much energy is wasted in the transfer (all those flashy spark effects that look cool require energy), how much was already used (this thing was running for at least some time, right?), and by what means is the energy converted back from Miles's capacitance? It kinda looks both like he can vary the efficiency with which he expends energy, and it may also be that his energy storage capabilities are like a muscle, in that the bigger it gets the more energy it can contain/expend, but it requires more to operate, so potentially after such an inflation, much more energy than seen before would be required to be held in reserve, presumably also giving him the power to survive such an event
Matpat. You forgot a key thing: the explosion wasn’t an actually an explosion: it was an electrical explosion. So the blast radius would have been the same but the effects would have not been sure, a few buildings would have been damaged or destroyed but it would have been far, faaaar less casualties than what you said
I would like to see a theory on the game “At dead of night”. Maybe diagnose Jimmy, or maybe on its cryptic ending..... lots of potential.
Escreveu não leu, o pau comeu
Maybe do a theory on “markiplier isn’t real” thing going on his channel?
yeah lmao
lol
hes probably gonna do it after his new fnaf theory on the new book
@Aaditya Sharma Guys, let's face it, Mark is probably dead and his friends are simply milking his channel and made a joke about it XD
Edit: Ignore what i said, apparently it was just a way for Markiplier to take a break

The cloaking ability makes more sense with the suits because he probably engineered it to have a cloaking ability like the Prowler's suit but the clothes is where it draws the line. Even in Spider-Verse where Miles hides from the Prowler through his cloaking ability his clothese are also invisible.
Doesn't even make sense with his final suit at the end of the movie, since it's just Peter's old suit spray-painted black.
one issue, is all the energy absorbed is converted into bio electrical so you'd need to treat it as an electromagnetic explosion rather than a nuclear since the nuke part was taken out of the equation
Theory: his suit is made from fabrics infused with his hair and that's why it can go invisible
like bayonetta?
Like Mirio from BNHA?
@@KilosFoxo lol that's what I was thinking 😂
I...
only part of his costume would be then unless it's tightly packed but that would offer no protection
I think it more likely that the fuel is somewhat self-sustaining, and thus “500 years of power for Harlem” is more literal, in that it can supply power to Harlem for 500 years before it runs out.
Common misconception. Watt is energy per second (for home appliances it is energy per hour). Here Matpat is assuming all that energy releasing for 500 years is released simotaniously .
@@AaronShenghao Well yea but what is happening is that miles is taking out ALL the power and then releases it all at once
@@dylan2.066 the amount of available power at a given second isn't necessarily the same as the total amount of power it could produce over its life time
@@matteo-ciaramitaro fair point
I wonder if matpat would ever touch "Omori" since that game has a lot of stuff for him to offer. More then undertale perhaps.
I dont think so that game has more fanbase than undertale but look at what happen when he did an undertale theory
Mat pat's probably not gonna see this, but to those who do. Miles' cloaking ability is actually an extension of his electric powers. He's not camoflauging himself, he's using the bio electricity to refract light around himself. So it makes perfect sense for his clothes to disappear too. His cloaking isn't a mutation of his skin.
What if matpat became a lawyer and at the end of explaining why his client is innocent he says “but that’s just a theory”
You missed 1 calculation:
Each hexagon contains 1 nuform cannister
0.O AAWWWWW, HELL NO!!
Alright yeah we can safely say all of the US, Canada, Mexico, possibly even reaching south america is gone.
Me, sitting at home in Europe: Haha, nuform goes boom
Me sitting In Asia poor people
This is not true. It's stated in the presentation that one canister is enough to power harlem, and only one slot in front of the reactor where the nuform is inserted is shown (where the canister stays)
Hey Matpat!
Can you make a theory about "Little Nightmares" and "Little Nightmares 2"?
I have my own theory on the game too, but I want to see what do you think about it.
Grab a sponge. Make it absorb as much water as it can hold. Now squeeze as much out in a single press (don't let go and squeeze again, only once.) How much water is poured back and how much remains in the sponge?
Me hearing 100 million gigaojoules : JESUS CHRIST they are some nice engineers Eh?
would like to see Game Theory tackle the skeleton remains in Minecraft's caves and the nether
Yes
Yeah they do a lot better with those types of games but the rest they are terrible at.
My guess it's the remains of whatever made ancient builders escape to the end.
I feel like before the wither had to be way bigger, how far 1 wither can go, that every desert temple in the world has a picture of it. Also the wither had to be so strong that it had to cause tsunami which drowned ocean temples.
However, it is possible that those bones r dinosaurs, but it doesn't make sense when it comes to the nether.
I thought about giant mobs (since we know that it's possible to summon a zombie giant) but zombies have never been found in the nether.
I also thought about the end dragon, but there isn't any mentioning on ancient buildings like the wither.
It really would make the most sense if withers were way bigger and there were multiple of em.
@@daffodildaffodil9884 cool theory!
1:57 You said through the game wow
You should make a Game Theory for Sea of Thieves because there is a lot of unanswered questions in that such as the kraken? and the megalodon? how did those get there?
