I do it instinctively when I feel like I'm not centering the thermal well. Or when I feel that what I have is not enough to close the turn without losing height. I go hands up hoping to gain some speed and bite the thermal better and open up the turn a bit to find something more powerful than a fuzzy and narrow 0.4. At the same time I pump the brake to not leave the turn completely. Obviously, without much success. More efficient weight shifting would probably help. I'll try it next time.
@@hypnoises okay, I personally think less is more in that case. When the wing goes all over the place it's necessary, yes, but other than that a smooth circle is more effective in the lift. Keeping a consistent airspeed and bank angle with regular circles, making corrections by smoothly moving the circle towards the core. If it beeps stronger open up the inside brake s bit, if it's weakening pull a bit more in until the beeping stays constant. Only pull that hard if the wing shoots forward. Nice Wing BTW, had a great TestFlight with it.
