Though I prefer modern aircraft with highly advanced cockpits, I still like to marvel at the old classic aircraft with their anolog cockpits filled with all the dials and knobs etc.
I also love the look of the Flight Engineers Panel, decpite it looking super complicated like.

@@ilikeleaking There are three. You can see each one of the 'bat handles' on the flight guidance panel (the autopilot panel). Also if you see the Flight Engineer electrical panel you will see there is a Split System Breaker between the #2 and #3 Generators. The SP does not have this either. There are a few other differences that I see also.

They are paid for what they are able to do, when necessary: landing in difficult weather conditions, with crosswinds; rejecting a takeoff safely in the event of an engine failure below V1; dealing with various in-flight emergencies; etc. Many of these things are practiced in simulators, where the pilots work quite hard to maintain their proficiency.

Its all about the money my friend, you pay once for that shitty computer so after a while when it is earned back it starts making profit, while a flight engineer has to be paid every single month. The biggest issue is that it is allowed by law so we cant do anything about it. But yes you are right we have seen a lot crashes lately with those shitty computerized deadtraps. There cant fail that much when it is all analog.. just one bad sensor and you got a huge problem.
