- April 26 marks the launch of the all-new, all-electric F-150® Lightning™ pickup, a milestone moment in America's shift to electric vehicles.
Ford and UAW leaders will host F-150 Lightning customers and Ford employees at the new Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan to celebrate "Job 1" and the start of production for the first-ever full-size all-electric pickup to go on sale.
The Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is Ford's ultra-modern new facility within Ford’s historic Rouge Complex where Henry Ford perfected the moving assembly line and scaled the Model T.

imagine how much money Ford would have saved if they put the drivetrain and other parts makers in the same factory they are building the truck in... More vertical integration is needed if they want to get down costs to compete with the best in EV's.
Lightening is an amazing truck and I salute Ford for making this!
I hope they can focus on software, vertical integration, and making their own batteries one day to reduce the costs and complexity.

Late, but I’m glad it’s finally here. Now if Ford can quickly get the Maverick and/or Ranger electrified, then Ford will be around for many more years to come. If not, their debt load and declining sales will bankrupt them.

My reservation was cancelled back in December 2021, I was looking forward to becoming a member of the Ford Family but I guess they’ve reached the 200k already. Well I guess I’ll stay with the MOPAR Family can’t wait for the Ram!

Good Looking trucks, I would totally get one except I'm not paying $60K+ for it. If I was going to do that, I'd buy a new Raptor or a Tesla. If y'all keep saying $40K you're going to have to work on that price to get it down.

Most of the claims pertain to the XLT and Lariat models with extended range battery. First production will be Pro model "targeting" 230 miles of range.
The revised 2025 f150 will be extremely exciting. I have a reservation for this truck and can't wait to see what the future has for Fold!
I am a die hard blue oval fan, but with all this innovation, I still can’t get an accurate timeline / date of production for the superduty I ordered in December 🤨🧐😅 (December 17, 2021, Woody Anderson Ford in Huntsville, AL, a 2022 F350 Lariat DRW to be exact, I’ve gotten 2 emails, 1 confirming the order, one saying it’s delayed and no timeline of delivery or even an estimated timeline….) Maybe dedicate some of this effort to fulling repeat customers orders. This will be the 4th ford I’ve purchased new…
Yet another great vehicle by Ford, yet another vehicle that will not be available to anyone for a couple years unless you were the lucky few who got orders in. I placed an order within minutes of them opening this vehicle up for orders and I didn't make the window of those who got chosen to get on the production list. I see this going the route of the Bronco.....some people who ordered one of those the same day ordering was opened up STILL don't have their vehicle. Dealerships still can't get them on the lot to sell, the ones you see them selling are from people who ordered one and pulled out of the purchase. You will see dealerships adding thousands of dollars onto the MSRP and taking advantage of their customers, just like you are seeing right now with any Broncos that they acquire. Ford needs to get a handle on this problem and do the right thing!
I'm excited to see this NEW TRUCK!! Being an F150 owner I'm a bit jealous of this new electric truck. Maybe I'll upgrade later on. WAY TO GOOD FORD!!

Ford, I have been a big big fan of Mustang and F-150 for a long long time. I and many people know what Ford has done for automotive industry. And I do wholeheartedly want you to succeed in this EV segment. There was a lot said during your launch event including the statement that Lightning will be cheaper than competition. I really hope you stay true to your word and I really really hope we don’t have to deal with dealer markups and the reason I moved away from vehicles completely. Some of my and my friends’ worst experience buying vehicles happened at Ford dealerships. I hope that changes. If not, I will taunt Ford for years on all social media platforms and I will poach your tech guys. That’s right. That said, get me my Lightning soon. Please!
