Didn't even know that a MIG 15 could fly so slowly to be shot down by an F 82. A B36 is already very slow when cruising at 200 mph and was rightly retired in 1959.

@@Steven197106 А МИГ-15 в той войне ухайдокали около 4000 различных амеровских, английских, австралийских, канадских самолётов. Из них около 110 самолётов сбили корейские ПВОшники. Собственные потери составили 335 самолётов МИГ-15. У Си-Фьюри была хорошая тактика. При появлении МИГ-15, они пикировали до земли и пытались, прячась в складках местности, удрать в залив, куда МИГам было запрещено залетать. Нечего сказать, геройская тактика.

Его прицел с подвижной сеткой позволял вести эффективный огонь с дистанции в 2000-3000 метров. А бомбардировщики были вооружены пулемётами с пристрелкой на 400 метров. Поэтому, МИГи сбивали противника издалека. И только пролетая над сбитым самолётом изредка могли попасть под огонь выживших стрелков. Но это редко бывало, так как снаряды, взрываясь в теле самолёта, вызывали чудовищные поражения экипажа от осколков и стрелять было уже просто некому. Все были либо убиты, либо ранены. Именно поэтому, Трумэн был вынужден перенести дату нападения на СССР под названием "Дропшот" на 01.01.1957 года. Это потому, что на вооружение должен был прийти реактивный бомбардировщик Б-47.

The key to survival of a B-36 was that at it's time, no jet fighter was capable of effectively intercept her at 43K+ ft. This includes the MiG-15. While the MiG's service ceiling was above that altitude, the only thing she could do up there was to hang in there, attempting to stay level. At this altitude, the B-36's maneuverability was better than the one of any enemy fighter, whether you believe it or not. It wasn't until the MiG-17F with it's reheated VK-1F engine went into service, that the russians were able to effectively intercept (R)B-36 and (R)B-47 aircraft.
