    The Nsima/Nzema is also a name of a tribe in Ghana of which Dr. Kwame Nkrumah belongs to. Is there a tribe called Nzema in Malawi?

      @@sandrapeachymw For the vegetables :
      Medium size onion copped ,Sweet Yellow pepper cut into strips ,Sweet Red pepper cut into strips
      Large carrots cut into thin sticks, 2 medium zucchini cut into sticks, 2 cups frozen green beans
      For seasoning
      4 tablespoons soy sauce, a tablespoon of honey , black pepper .

      Heat using a wide pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and fry the onion for about a minute.
      Add the sweet peppers, carrots and zucchini and cook over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes
      Add the green beans and cook for another 5-10 minutes, until the vegetables soften slightly but not too soft . Season with soy sauce, honey , and black pepper and mix for about a minute to absorb the flavors.
      For the fish
      Use butter to fry ,
      A handful of chopped parsley
      1 chopped scallions
      Bread crumbs for icing
      Dip the fish on both sides in bread crumbs and fry them in a pan from all directions until you get a golden color
      Place the fried fishes on a bed of parsley and scallions.

    • @sandrapeachymw
      @sandrapeachymw  Před 3 lety +1

      Well yes kinda. In west Africa they make future from cassava. And the tonga tribe in malawi make Klondike which is nsima from cassava

  • @sawnewwenberg3043
    @sawnewwenberg3043 Před 3 lety +2

    Some of the foods are similar to what we call "Soul Food" . The fish is kinda like fried Sardines. The vegetables you said in native language and also kale, is like collard or mustard greens. The soup reminds me of Mexican Salsa, the white stuff reminds me of what we call " Grits". But Grits is a little more watery and some people put sugar in it but i put butter and salt. Not too much different.

    • @sandrapeachymw
