I wish people would leave these folks alone to do things their way, and not try to foist western ideals on them. That is Tajma's sixth child. All her children looked well and beautiful to me. Maybe in their culture, babies are bathed with just hands for a few weeks, who knows?
Also, picking baby up by the arms is actually something done to newborns in African Yoruba culture. Watch the CZcamsr SisiYemmie, when baby's great-grandma came to bathe her new baby. Baby was bathed in herb-infused water. Watch @13 mins, how GG picked baby up by one hand and then the other. Then did a series of other stuff, that may make you cringe. This is their tradition. This CZcamsr SisiYemmie, got her Master's Degree from a University in the UK. Her hubby is a Doctor of Medicine. So these are not wretched poor people. These are well read and educated people who believes in their Yoruba tradition.
