  • We got into it and talked all about wallpaper! In this Meet the Miniaturist episode, I share best practices for using wallpaper in a dollhouse, roombox or miniature scene and reveal a few tips and tricks for proper paper application, glue options and implementation techniques in this event sponsored by www.miniatures.com!
We were also joined by Nhu Nizza from Itzy Bitzy Minis itsybitsymini.com/ who just introduced a new line of super fab wallpapers. We had a chat with Nhu and she provided some of her signature style and design tips along with recommendations on how to bring your new mini project or existing dollhouse to life using wallpaper. She also shared a whole bunch of innovation she's bringing to the miniatures world.
This broadcast was sponsored by HBS/Miniatures.com, a family-owned company since 1975 and the largest supplies of building materials and tiny treasures to bring all your miniature projects to life!

I’m so happy to see you have continued to do videos since this one 2 years ago as of this time. Very informative.😊

Really good information, thank you. One thing I've seen from people teaching how to apply wallpaper is to make a template with regular paper first to cut the right size of paper. And if there are windows or other openings don't cut them out first. Paper over them, and then cut out the openings to make sure to get the right fit. I guess that would need to be done before windows are installed then. So don't do that if there is a window you need to go around. I have also heard that you can use one piece of paper to go all the way around the room covering any gaps in the corner, or to cover the back wall first leaving overlap at the corners, and then add side wallpaper and that would hide the seams better because the edge of the paper is away from your eye, not facing the opening of the house.
I think using old maps as wallpaper might be fun too, especially for a themed room for Paris or something like that

I bought some what I thought was wall paper for a doll house but it was so glossy I hated I wanted something that looked and felt like real wall paper so I will be going to have a look at the website for sure.
It’s very hard to find many things worth while here in Australia and when you don’t live in the coastal towns/cities it’s even harder as you can only rely on what you can see on the screen.
Thanks it was a fun video just sad I missed the live fed but pretty good as I only just found you on CZcams 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Very informative. I have had a go designing wall paper for a specific project that required only black and white. Colour is a whole new skill set. Thank you from Australia
