daedelus looks all chill haha. and that drummer is pretty sick too
OH MY SWEET GOODNESS. this is like the best and coolest thing ever.
this song is called Fallen Love, from Daedelus' album Exquisite Corpse (2005). i don't believe a studio version exists.
the drummer is out of this world!
That drummer is so good
I demand a Kneebody/Daedelus global tour!
+Olivia Sophie your wish has been granted.
@@jamesjohnson2321 seeing them to this day is still one of the most memorable things i've ever experienced
saw them in philly like 7 or 8 years ago at this point. still one of the most unique exciting sets ever
Awesome rhythmic and epic musical experience!
Never really listened to that much jazz or whatever this classified as, but this was so enjoyable
this great stuff!
DAT DRUMMER! AMAZING.
Hermoso!!! Maravilloso.......felicitaciones desde Valle Nevado, Chile.
heat
@ns81 do a google search for monome,...it would appear that is what Daedelus and I think it's a hand built midi interface.
I figured it was only a matter of time before you guys got together! L.A. is getting smaller all the time. Really, really great stuff. My favorite progressive jazz group + Daedelus = Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu
If you know Kneebody it wouldn't be a surprise.
let me just have another listen ... :D
Oh man such a groovy band. :-)
WTF DRUMMER PWNED MY EARS
from playing drums for the calling to leader of russia to this....damm!!!
OMG
excelent!
how would you not like this?
the drummer really loves that hi-hat
Anyone know if this is available for download and/or purchase?
@Eliarra Are you saying the Rhodes is a synth? :)
The Rhodes closer to a guitar in that it uses electromagnetic pickups to pickup the vibrations of metal tines that a hammer attached to the keys hits, where as an anolog synth uses LFOs and VCOs to generate and control waveforms. A keyboardist would probably have a better explanation than I,..but I love the Rhodes sound.
shit is DOPE
Çok Güzel
@divehater Lol no I just was too lazy to explain all of it =D
They killed it!!! what is the song they are covering??
Fallen love
@Bruno: yea, not sure what my issue was with this, on further reflection. it's pretty decent. Must've been having a bad day or something...
this band looks expensive!
@divehater yeah thats what I thought too
Can someone explain in greater detail how Deadalus' keypad works? It looks halfway between a piano keyboard and a computer kkekyboard. And the keys are all blank. DJ tools are weird...
This thing is just blowing my mind. That drum. it's like... beat after beat. (Yeah, I know that's how drums tend to work) Half those lines would make for awesome tunes just on their own. That sax just kills it & are those guitar effects pedals plugged into a keyboard? & Not just one, like, two of them! Hahaa! I love rhodes. Love those chords. It's a great amalgamation of funk, traditional sax riffs, synth effects. a couple great gospel chords, big nod to classical genre & that's not to mention the drum & bass/techno connotations that overlay the whole thing. Truly a revelation. White people are awesome. (teehee).
@Eliarra :)
What exact song is covered and by who?
does anyone know what that controller gadget is the dj dude is using @0:16...lots of keys.....
+FALCOY monome
Oh the Rhodes? Its basically a synth.
oh -i see its a Monome........never mind.
+FALCOY oh, nevermind
Does this track have a name?
+The Elektrik Cave Fallen Love by Daedalus
Thanks
Man, you're kidding, right?
band sounds better with bass player..
I dig the drummer here, but I don't think he exemplifies anything great concerning dynamics. I love his grooves and off-beat rhythms but he just seems to be flat-lining at a single energy level and volume the whole 9 and a half minutes.
Straight hatin'.
***** Not trying to be too critical. Just saying, it's a 9 minute song. Some more subdued grooves in some sections of the song would really be appreciated (at least by me).
+Blake Parker Nate Wood is a ridiculous monster. He does demonstrate dynamics, but orchestration is usually more present in beat oriented music, that said... he probably played with more dynamics than this recording is letting on. It doesn't look like an intricate mic scenario, plus this mix is a bit weird (of course, this comes from this being a live show).
That's actually a totally fair point.
This is the worst thing I've ever heard. The wrong side of jazz...
Anyone know if this is available for download and/or purchase?
