It cannot be said that nowadays she sings flamenco on her records, it 's more like a flamenco-pop. Nevertheless, she started singing the purest flamenco, what we call "cante jondo" (deep singing). What you feel so deep when you listen to these artists who have grown up in flamenco, is what in Spanish is called "quejío", that way of singing in which it seems that the singer cries and expresses pain ("quejío" is the Andalusian way of saying "quejido", in English "moan" or "whine").
