- Hi guys, in part one of my transition tips series, I cover the basics of drop mixing &juggling/scratching beats on time. I was asked by a DJ with a year or so's experience for some tips/advice on some transition techniques for R&B & Hip Hop.

That song actually has 8 bars of the instrumental in the beginning. You could loop that over the end of one track and cut over to it right at "Pack it up pack it in".

what are the settings you use for the x-fader curve & for the turntable speed/brake? also, do you use A thru B setting or keep it on either side? do you recommend slip mode for this? thanks for the help & informative vids, keep 'em coming!

I tried mixing Hip-hop and i find it difficult! I'm use to progressively bringing up the volume fader. I usually mix house, tech, and trance!
To me "throwing it in" isn't correct. I guess it's okay for hip hop! thanks for the tutorial!
Matthew Scarpetta ive mix house, tech and you can throw it in on the one, you just have to know when and also work the eq on both tracks.
Sweat setting do u have setup go get the scratching going good on your pioneer do sz and what setting do u have set in sera to to scratch?

DJ Blighty TV for example playing a build up one one song and then playing the drop of another and make it seems as if its one song
Umm just drop it after the build up. one two three four etc. and then drop it on the one. Basic mixing.
2 ways Drop or Blend Drop just Drop the new song after the rise of the earlier one or if you good with counts Learn the timing of the songs. you blend the 4 bars of the rise with the 4 bars before the new songs drop.
