As a Punjabi living in Canada their no point in coming to Canada. It is better to set up shop in India and with this kind of money you can open a business and be successful. Millions of Canadians ar struggling because cost of living is too high and we can't even afford a house so what is the point in coming to country. Atleast in India you have a house, a family to take care of you.

I have always encouraged young people against going to USA,EU,Canada and so on because these countries have great employment crises and future is bleak.In India there are great opportunities and it's upto the individuals to harnesses success.One is himself responsible and can't blame society or government.India has plenty of jobs and youngsters should grab it rather than complaining.Every young people have wonderful opportunities in Bharat.

Why do affluent Punjabis go through this Dunki route, life is tougher in western countries, and if you're well off in India, you live like a King. Moreover, If you really want to live in one of those countries, just do your Bachelors or Masters degree there and then start working. If they are able to raise 40-60 lakhs money and take such risks to seek employment abroad, why can't they spend that money on education/business in India? They are better off searching for jobs in other states - South India, for instance. Even 15 lakhs that is needed for European "DUNKI" can be spent well on a sound education and look for jobs in India - There is shortage for skilled workers in India too.
Contrary to popular belief, countries like Canada, US, UK etc aren't attractive anymore as they were 10 years ago. Real estate, food prices, cost of living has skyrocketed and made it difficult for their locals too. Please don't waste money on illegal immigration. You can get a better chance of living your dream by launching a startup in India than going on risky adventures like this.

As a Pakistani where we don't have a consistent supply of gas , electricity or water so we opt for lpg cylinders , solar panels & ground water (aka boaring) . The govt is now proposing additional taxes on all of these. If India is anything like this then i understand why these individuals despite having money wanted to leave.

but you are not factoring in inflation into this, with reported inflation at 6-7% you would be just maintaining your money's purchasing power also consumer inflation is said to at 11-12%. 1 cr=50lacs after 10 years with 7% inflation

I had admission offers from 5 of TU9 universities in Germany to study MS in CS.
I also knew the places where I had to search for part time jobs upon arrival in Germany.
But still I changed my plans of migrating at the last moment. Reason?
-I got my third job switch since graduation 5 years ago.
-My salary crossed the dream package of 15 LPA.
-I got married to a local lady in the coty of my job who was not crazy about moving abroad. Infact since she is a doctor here, she encourages me to start a business.
-I am already working towards becoming a product manager.
Overall, I am living the life for which I would have gone abroad. May be if our child turns weak in studies, then we might send him/her abroad to study in less competitive environment.

Yes I agree everyone has aspirations to be rich and you get limited opportunities in India but this is fate accept it and move on. You can’t change destiny because god has already set it before you took birth. Look everyone can’t be so lucky to be born rich or born in a western country. Rich people can take legal routes as well either develop contact with someone living in those countries insist them to start a business and get invited through sponsorship visa or encourage someone to take up education there as it’s easy to get student visa.
