The absolute best tutorial I have ever seen on CZcams, she got right to the point and explained it perfectly. Thank you very much
Welcome!
I have owned this little sewer for a few years and have not been able to get it to work right for me never thought to look on CZcams thank you so much for clearing things up for one confused female lol
singer
Michelle Allman by not been able to work for me, do you mean when you pulled on the seam the thread pulled out?
Got this as a bday present yesterday for my 11th
Thanks so much!!! This was most helpful. I couldn’t understand why the thread kept coming out. I took home economics and sewing years ago and forgot everything! You’re the best
I've worked at Joann for over a year now and finally got into hand sewing pillowcases, bought one of these the other day to branch out to blankets (gasp!) and this video helped me so much.
Tech angel, thanks for the demo. Just a note: before threading the needle you should thread the eye on the bottom side of the arm that moves up & down, which will help pull the thread along as it goes up ‘n down.
My wife couldnt figure out how to rethread the needle. This is the first thing I clicked on. The day has been saved!
Thank you so much for this video. I bought one of these for $6 at a thrift shop, and it was complete (even with charged batteries) but there was no instruction booklet. Your video is all i need to get started.
Thank you for taking your time and effort to post this for us. It is nice when people (like you) post videos when you actually know what you are doing... versus...
... I dont understand people who post "unboxing videos" or people who make/post a video of the first time they are doing/using something and they are clueless to what they are doing. What is their objective? They show nothing useful. Why dont they wait until they have done it a couple of times?
I also like your style of getting to the point... no useless long introduction and no dumb back gorund music.
Thank you to all people who make/post "to the point", useful, helpful videos with no distractions or pounding bass beats and/or sounds/songs which 76% of the people watching will not like.

7777jayhawk Quick and to the point,I like it!!
7777jayhawk hear hear. My first handheld sewing video I watched was exactly what you described and I almost felt dissuaded to use one. I don't sew, so this little machine will jumpstart my new ventures into this hobby. I found this video extremely helpful.
How do you stop this from skipping stitches
OMG I purchased my stitch sew quick back in January of this year and I didn't know how to use it. I'm a beginner sewer, I became frustrated and just boxed it up. Today (8/25/17) I decided to blow the dust off of it and give it another go. Because I you I figured out how to thread the needle. Let's just say you're the reason why I'm on the way to Walmart to buy up fabric and start some projects this weekend!!!!! Thank you soooooooo much for this video my personal life saver 😊 love from Atlanta, GA and a new subscriber
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! I have never known how to sew but have always wanted to learn the basics. This device fits my needs precisely, and I'm excited that it is really this simple!!! Thanks so much for this demo!!!
you truly are an Angel!! thank you for the help! I've had this machine for a year now, asked for it on my last birthday and had not managed to figure it out! thanks again!!
I love my quick stitch machine got it at Joanne's Fabric store for like $20. It saved alot of me and my daughters clothes that would have gotten thrown away otherwise. It's cute and easy to carry a d use. I had no sewing machine experience prior to this. Nice to hear of so many guys sewing with this machine. Read about them in the comments. Suzy
I have owned this for over a decade now and never figured out how to make it work, good thing I didn't throw it out.... thank you for posting this video, much appreciated!
Great instructional video! Yours is the first video of its kind that I’ve watched that actually show how to tighten the thread and save your work!
U are LIFE ... I bought this Friday ... Tried to use it ... But i got so frustrated ... Then i decided to come on u
utube ... Your tutorial is VERY DETAILED ... SO HELPFUL and SUPER SUPER INFORMATIVE ... this company needs to hire you as their
SPOKESWOMAN ... THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I bought one of these to shorten my jeans bu for the love of ada I couldn't work it out from the instructions but now it's easy thanks to your excellent video. Many many thanks
As a dude who hasn't touched a sewing machine in 20 years since grade 7 home economics class, I really appreciate this tutorial. The manual that ships with this thing is garbage. And this is coming from a guy who finds IKEA manuals make total sense, so I don't exactly have high standards.
Paul M This wouldn’t be a bad find on Fallout! 😉
So glad I found your video. I just opened mine up after the box was collecting dust in my utility closet. I'm really intimidated by sewing machines, but your instructions make it look pretty easy!
Thank you for this video. Quite easy to follow. I wasn't sure how to get it together due to thinking it was setup like the traditional sewing machine. Now it can finally come out of the box for good. lol

2 years after you posted, this video is still so helpful! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for your video! I just bought the Sunbeam version at the 99 Cent Store for $5 and I was so confused on how to start... now I know thanks to this detailed video 😁
Really??? Are you in NV? I need one of these and we have a million 99 cents stores
Thanks!. I wasn't sure how to stop the unraveling at the end. Much appreciated!
Being a man I was never taught a thing about sewing...
Excellent demonstration. Your step by step instruction on this product was the perfect motivation to use this for projects I really need to get started on. I definitely see the value of using this sewer for the going purchase price, because I really do not need the bulk of a practical full-size machine, so I am thinking of buying another one handheld one soon. Thanks so much!
This was great ! Thank you so much for showing us how to use this lil baby!
I just purchased this at Walmart for making simple stitches around borders of paper craft embellishments. I don't have a sewing machine and did not want to purchase one for the sole purpose of sewing on embellishments. I read the instructions for re-threading this machine but I just didn't get it (and I am a technical person so instructions are important to me) so when I found your video I finally got it. I must be a visual learner lol.. Anyway, thank you for taking your time and effort to post this for us. Don't know if it will work on cardstock but at least I can now try. Thanks again.
I just tried it on card stock - works well. I also held it between my knees, turn on the switch, and guided the card stock through so the line was straight...and you can do curves as well. Just don't expect perfection. I got this at a thrift shop with the idea of using it on paper projects.
Bought this so I could sew two exactly the same blankets together and make a bigger blanket for my baby very helpful thanks
Great review of how to use the machine. I need to use it about every six to 12 months and having a review is very helpful. Thanks!
This was very helpful, I had one of these and I was lost how to finish the stitch when i was done xD Super simple explanation at the end.
My wife and I have owned this for years. Neither one of us had much sewing knowledge (although I got an A+ in home ec 25 years ago, lol). Whenever we used this, we could never get a tight stitch or even one that wouldn't pull out. Your tutorial is amazing! I'm a maker, machinist, woodworker, etc. And the only thing I've wanted to do that I can't easily is sew sometimes!. Thanks so much for saving our little machine!
I know this video is 3 years old but very helpful when it comes to finishing the last thread! Thank you so much!
I just gave you a cyber-hug. I have had one of these for a while and could not get it to work! Hopefully, I will have success after following your tutorial.
Dankeschön, das war eine grosse Hilfe. Die Firma SINGER müsste dir etwas zahlen, weil du alles so gut und langsam erklärst! Vor allem das Sichern des Fadens am Ende des Nähens! SUPER!
Thank you so much for being so in depth and taking your time to explain how to use this cool lil machine. I have a full size sewing machine and can not figure out how to thread it to save my life. I think if I had you to explain it to me, I would get it done in a snap. BTW I suffer from STML- short term memory loss. New info. is very dificult for me to grasp sometimes. But your way.....I get it! Thanks again and many blessings to you and your family. Much
THANK YOU!!!! I was so confused and this makes perfect sense now.
Thank You so much for making this video! I just used mine for the first time. After watching your video, I knew exactly what to do to make it work.
My wife has been trying to figure this thing out and you were very helpful!
This video is so easy to follow! Such a great tutorial! Thank you!
It can't sew thicc fabrics/projects but for little things, it'll super helpful. I'll still be keeping it as well as getting a bigger machine 💖 thanks for this
For Me, this is the most brilliant and clear quick tutorial on the use of these handy Singer machines! Thank You Tech Angel😇🎁🎇🎆🐞🐝🍀🌹
You explained it much better than the instructions it self. It was very helpful and now I know how to use mine. Thank you!
I've never been able to get mine to work properly. I've done everything exactly like you. So sad! This seemed so handy.
Machine is Love me too mine is still not working.....😭😭😭😭
Mine too! 😫
THANK you! Your tutorial was hands-down much more helpful than the tutorial from the manufacturer!
Thank you so much for explaining everything so clearly! I have gotten the same machine and it works beautifully now that you explained it.
Thank you sooooooooooo much for uploading this! I’ve just been hand sewing everything and decided to give myself a project, a gift for my brother, recently and realized how helpful and faster it would be with a machine. I haven’t used a sewing machine since I was a child and can’t remember how to use it. And the instructions that came with this hand sewer isn’t very helpful! Your video is awesome and greatly helpful!
Just wanted to say thank you so so much!!! You are proof that not all heros wear capes!!! Just got one of these and when I said I would try pillow cases first my son asked for some cool shorts. So thanks for your videos and lessons so I can keep my sons thinking I am extra cool! Lol!!
So a year later and another huge thank you is in need for sure! Hadn't had a chance to use mine for a while and tried to use it again today... I was struck by instant stupid and forgot everything... 😆 lol! Being an adult is harder than it looks sometimes!
Thank you, I got one to make masks through this coronavirus, you’re so very helpful. Thank you again I appreciate your video.
Great explanation. I picked up one for 1.99 at Goodwill yesterday but no manual. Being a non sewer (but having watched Mom as a kid) I had no idea that sewing could be done without a second thread. Also showing how the batteries go in helped because the usual idea of a battery bottom towards a spring and tops towards a tab does not apply here for the bottom two. Mind is missing the bobbin post but I think I can make something. Also missing the tension part but I have some ideas for there as well.
Thanks. This was very helpful. Just bought this and the instructions are very vague and confusing. You cleared up a lot. In particular the cut off, getting the fabric out and keeping the stitch from unraveling. Thanks again
Thank you so much for this video. I am elated. I bought this product two years ago and I was intimidated to try to get it to work. Because of your video, I just hemmed my first pair of pants with a sewing machine! Thank you so much. You have wonderful patience. You should do more instructional videos. Or be a teacher!
Awesome.
I’ve had this machine in storage for years because I could never figure out how to use it right. Thanks to your tutorial, I can finally use this for my sewing projects! Thank you :)
Such a great video, will help my wife and I with our cosplays greatly, thank you!!
Thank you so much for posting this. Came in handy because I didn't know if thread went through the back or front. Also like the tidbit at the end about making sure to tighten the thread.
Thank you so much for making this video. I have one of these but have lost the directions. You are a life saver!
Thank you! I’ve been lost! Haha I was like can I seriously not figure out a sewing tool
I had a handheld machine years ago, but don't know what happened to it and I only used it once. It has been so long since I used one of them until I would have to start over again like I am with the regular sewing machine I just purchased new and have to get the supplies, material, and thread for. Maybe the local sewing store will have a handheld machine in house and I can buy it and use it to do patch work when needed using it. I like the demonstration of how to setup this Singer brand and use it.
Lmao i love gadgets too.. i always buy tiny sewing machines that i never use, my boyfriend side eyes me everytime🤣.. but today is the day i learn to use this one 🤞🏾
This gadget makes a "chainstitch" similar to factory seams. Not very strong, but as you say, pull the thread from the back and knot it and it won't unravel quite as easily. Very easy for temporary sewing, both to stitch and to remove!
I bought one a few hours ago. Curious to see what I can use it for. The manual today is well written just the drawings are odd. Don't know what older manuals looked like that people had so much to complain about them. It also says after the tensioning plates you got to guide the thread through the loop on the underside of the arm before going through the needle.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have been trying with this thing for so long. Bless you
This is exactly what I needed thank you I also bought it at a flea market and it didn't have directions I kept doing it wrong maybe the way I thread the needle thank you so much for your help
Great tutorial video, never had a clue with the instructions that come with it but your explanation is indeed awesome.. thank you!
Thank you for taking time to show us how to use this machine
Thank you for this great tutorial! So easy to follow!
When you were explaining the tension, the saying my dad taught me came in handy again.
'righty tighty lefty loosey' lol 🤓🥳 thank you again for this.
Tech Angel , I have one of those too that I purchased alonggggg time ago. Seeing it is nostalgia for me. 😀 It must be packed away somewhere. I never could get it to work. It was so much fun seeing it again. Now I know how it works 😀 That made my day as it was fun seeing you utilize it. Thank you so much for sharing! Lin
Very helpful! I have just bought a similar machine and the instructions were printed in tiny print, not good unless you have good close up eyesight! Was wondering how to thread it etc and saw your very informative video. Thanks for posting 👍🏻👌
I just got mine to work . Thanks for your tutorial x
I had one hand held sewing machine & it didn't work so I got rid of it. But now I thought I would try with another one. This time it works I looked on You Tube to have them demonstrate on how to use it. Because sometime they're not clear on explaining the directions to me.
Awesome 😎
Thank you for the step-by-step instructions
Thanks for the video. I used to sew alot with my Grandmother. I am trying to do a small project by hand but back stitching by hand is a real pain. I was thinking about buying one of these but I wanted to know how it proforms. Thanks for the video it was perfect!
I agree hand stitching is a hassle. This little machine makes it easier and so much more fun! Suzy
Oh gosh your video helped me tons!! I don't know how to sew, and I grabbed this product for some simple projects at home and was clueless. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Great video! I was just looking at purchasing this item, so your video gives me confidence that it will work. Thanks for posting! Pat Lawless
Thanks for the demo I have one I’m going to try it out today
I saw a video from a popular sewing channel where she tried one of these and couldn't get it to work, I think she did leave the string on the top when she tried to finish it and it all unraveled like you showed. I live on the road and want a sewing machine but have very limited space, maybe one of these little things is worth the chance
Thank you for the help alot of the other videos didnt help I got alot more info from you as a first timer
Thank you. I just got one for little fixes or to hand make cat toys for my kitty. Your instructional was really helpful!
Thank you! I almost bought this today for retail price and Im glad I didnt. It seems like you need 3 hands to really do it sewing justice! But awesome demo and I appreciate the video!
Thank you so much TA, I was not by any means looking forward to researching this intimidating little machine, but 9 minutes in your care, and I’m ready to use the Sew Quick. Video was amazing. Clear, precise, friendly, and extremely informative. You’re doing a great service. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your Holidays are filled with much joy. -Matthew
Thank you for the video! I just bought one and the stitching came apart. I couldn't understand why until you said to pull thru the last loop at the end 😊😃❤️ Viola!
Thank you Very much this is exactly what I need. For minor clothing repairs. I didnt want to buy an expensive full size machine. And my hand stiching is terrible.
Thank you, I did not know how to thread mine :) I have a manual one, without batteries but it works the same way
I Appreciate it because I don’t know how to use it in my mom buy it for me and even uses for two or three months so thank you so much this will
Good quick video. I just bought one of this yesterday at the 99cent store
That is a great deal.
Thank you i had received one of these mini sewing machine and thanks to your awesome informative video I know how to sew with it! ❤ Thank you!
Thank you you so much I have a mini singer and never used it cause I didn't know how and now I know I will be using it now Thank you😄😊
Very helpful. Just picked this up at the local thrift store; unfortunately it did not come with the instruction leaflet. Thanks for this.
Thank you I got one for xmas a few yesrs ago and it was so frustrating I gave up on it. Now I can re try it
Fantastic. I can actually use this thing now as the instructions were of no help to me. Tomorrow I will reupholster my boat. LOL..

I also bought this machine and didn't know how to use this and this video helped me a lot and again thank you
thank you for the detailed instructions,I too purchased my hand held at a yard sale and it had no directions with it. I tried some guess work and faniggling, but no positive results. so thank again for your post.
Bless you for making this video i could not for the life of me figure it out
Thank you so much!!!! I was going to just throw this away after 3 years of not being able to figure it out. Decided to try it again today to finish my sons Halloween costume. Thank you!!!!!
I was frustrated with the fact that couldn't fix my machine. I watched your video and it fix my problem.
OMG! I think I just fell in LOVE with this product! COLORADO FIST BUMP
Thank you great video! I just needed a review and this was recommended and it looks easy to use so I bought it.
Thanks for the review and the help comes in handy for us old timers
Thank you!! That really helped me after trying to figure it out for an hour!!
You’re an angel. Thank you 🙏
Thank you finally I know how to use this little device I've had for approx 3-4 yrs . And unfortunately I lost a couple of important pieces along the way. But I'm sure I can find a spring to fit and healthy f course the little metal connector for the bobbin spindle. I'm guessing that's what it's called. Anyway thank you so much.👍🏼😂and God bless you
🌴🙏🏼🌴
THANK YOU. Now I get how to use this and its pretty handy.
Thanks for the video I learned few things I didn't understand
