Checo can't get the car to perform like Max does. He's an okay driver, but even with a perfect setup, he can't quite keep up with Max's skills.
The qualifying times are now super compressed. The other teams are catching up. The next 12 drivers were within 1 second of Max on a 75 second lap. Checo was only a bit over 0.5 seconds behind Max but was 10 places back. That's really incredible.
Record 8 poles and if he wins tomorrow he will have a higher win percentage than Lewis 😂😂😂
He is a better driver
Great report Nick and Ian.
Max dipped his rear tyre in the gravel in the last corner which lost him time
He did that a lot through all the sessions, it was a calculated move. He decided to push a lot through the first two sectors at the end, logically the tyres lose grips at the end. But still what an amazing lap!
@@chriswilly1960Verstappen matched Piastri for almost the whole lap, with that slipstream Max was about 1.8 tenths ahead of the McLarens in sector 1, but he had lower speed on the run toward the finish line because he had a slightly poorer exit.
Isn't it obvious to Everyone that the entire reason F1 has given Pirelli an exclusive contract is because without any competition They can control the racing with the tires?
Unless some bs screwup by f1 like Miami. I think a super close race but Ver wining by 5-10 seconds. He would have won in Miami as well, but McLaren are right there!
Cheko like Alonso had a momentary slip in FP3 and both therefore didn't have their car right for qualy and suddenly Cheko is about to be turfed from the team.
Give it a rest.
Max is the reincarnation of Senna 😎
It's the same fighting spirit!
Yuki will win this race !
Your optimism is infectious.... Nice
But the Australian fans think otherwise.
Wat r u smokin bro ....can share
MacLaren team boss needs to shut his pie hole, NOW AND QUICKLY.. MV was the ONLY one out of the top 3 that has improved his lap time on his final qualification round.. I just about had it with Zak and Team MacLAren that have been talking MV down since the very lucky win (talking about lucky) from LN.
Maak je niet druk man.
Agree totally
Or maybe nyuki if he goes well all year 😊
One of the Sky F1 commentators mentioned just after Checo had his moment in P3 that there was only one spare upgrade kit and they might set it aside in case Max needed it later on. He might have been doing Qualiy with the old package.
Oscar at back because Ferrari home race yes😮
If Perez goes Lawson will come in 😊
Max is going to win, just to spite everyone.
Piastri so unlucky
Max's front tires will be dead very fast...
Are red bull hobbling Checo ???? Or is his bad luck his own doing???
The thing is. The both have their own engineering team to setup the car.
I think Max is obsessed to get the car how he wants it. Stays up late with his team to find the problem.
They have the same car but different ideas how they want it.
@@pimjcb9964Since a couple races ago, that’s no longer the case. Checo was experimenting too much and when they just copied the settings of Max, he was doing better. Now they just setup both cars the same.
Checo made a mistake in FP3 when he ran over a curb and got air, messing up the landing and taking out a wing. That was repaired but it's possible the car just didn't feel right after that. Also getting the softs to perform optimally on all three sectors was problematic. Note that Checo was only 0.5 behind Max but that dropped him 10 spots. The other teams are catching up.
He only needs to be off on his braking by a tenth and he’s toast.
I’d say max was just testing the track the day before he made history.
FIA should have slapped Sainz with 10sec penalty in Miami which is normal practice but they fined only 5 sec when Sainz hit Piastri and destroyed his points chances. This is purely unfair as Alonso also hit back FIA for being soft when Ferrari or Redbull is involved.
they had different setups that is why perez was off. They experimented and only nailed it for stappen.
😂😂 funny guy.
You're from Mexico I think?!
Cheko isn't halve so good as Max.
An that had nothing to do with the car.
@@fatabeestje yeah, you sure ????? I'm sure max gets the better of every thing..... Yes Checo under a lot o pressure and seems to crumble under it and Max....... Well.... He 3 time world champ, I suppose says it all
@Dlweta57 if checko want his own setup he is standing far behind of Max but the last few races they say you have to take the same setup as Max and he performs better.
Max is a perfectionist in every sense of the word. Cheko just aint it.
