  • In this video, we visited Tim from Ken Miller Supply in Reno, Ohio to show us how to tear down, clean, inspect, and reassemble a downhole rod pump. We see all the major components and learn how to take special care when transporting, cleaning, and reassembling them.

Thank you. We just converted our cable pumped well to rods. We also replaced all the tubing. The tubing was mostly original from 1895. Your video helps me understand the pump operation. I'll save the old fiber valve cup traveling and stationary valves etc for our history. We kept the chevy motor belt and pulley steam endine belt and walking beam for sentimental reasons. My Great Grandfather drilled it in 1895.
I believe our partner bought the used rods from your Wooster location. We are in the New Martinsville, WV area.

Glad it was helpful! How cool that you got to be a part of the historic storyline. Also, even cooler that you're from New Martinsville. I grew up right across the river! ~Derek

Tim should relocate the pipe on the floor next to him to avoid an accident. Excellent video.

Basic Scenario: SE Ohio shallow and deep oil wells from the 60’s with controls (timers) that are connected to a gas pipeline.... Can you make a video and talk about the ways to align production controls with the well (formation) production? It would also be great to hear about the science behind how different gas and liquid pressures at different wells impact oil production.

Thank you for informative content! By the way, does this entire assembly (including the orange barrel) fit inside of tubing, or is it screwed on it?
