DIY RAINBOW SPIRAL RHINESTONE TUMBLER // How to Bling Custom Cup Easy Step by Step Beginner Tutorial

- In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to make your own rainbow ombre rhinestone tumbler! This is one of my favorite rhinestone projects to date. The pattern is beautiful and following it throughout the tumbler is kind of like a puzzle. It’s very satisfying! Bling cups make a great DIY gift - this one is a christmas present for my mom.

How many bags of stones did you use?

I bought two of the white bags to be safe and I used pretty much exactly one bag haha and the amounts in them are not exact so I would recommend getting two bags in case you don’t have enough in the one 😊
Maybe this is a crazy question but how does the rhinestone stick to the pen?
You mean the thing I’m picking the rhinestones up with? Not a crazy question at all! The tip of the pencil I’m holding is made of wax, so when you press it onto the rhinestone, it grips into the wax tip, but it’s not an extremely strong grip, so once you place the rhinestone onto the glue on the cup, the way it sticks to the glue is strong enough to release off the wax pencil 😊
Is their a particular way you ahaarpen you wax pencil
I just take my box cutter and slice away. Also I have a sandpaper block and what I've been doing is rubbing my silicone tip over it to get rid of any flue that gets on it.
I just use a regular pencil sharpener and it works great!
How do you know if you have enough rhinestones to complete something like that?
You said 48 in a row of white so how many rows?

I had 34 rows of white and 33 rows of coloured stones in this one, but honestly it can be hard to tell how many to buy because the number stated on the rhinestone listing isn’t always accurate! I linked the products I used, and for this tumbler I used 2 packages of the white rhinestones and one variety pack of the rainbow. Hope this helps!!

Could I use 6's and 4's?
You can use any sizes you want, it will just affect the number of stones in each row, so that will affect the colour pattern depending on how many colours you’re using!
Hi Elizabeth. My name is Wendy. I’m in the process of making your rainbow tumbler. It’s my first time. It’s so much fun, but I’m having trouble towards the bottom. I bought the tumbler from the link you had but I think they sent me the wrong one. There’s a logo on it and like I said I’m having trouble fitting the 48 stones on it. Can you help me!
Hi Wendy! Oh dear - sounds like maybe the tumbler is slightly tapered instead of straight if you’re having trouble fitting in your stones only at the bottom 🤔 feel free to send me a DM with photos on instagram @elizabethaveryglitter and I’ll see what I can do to help!
