This is the first time I have seen plane spotting video from Istanbul IST
Do the authorities there not have a problem with this?
Do you need to get authorisation?
Are you outside the perimeter?
I hope you can manage to do more of this, Istanbul is the most connected airport in the world with over 300 destinations. So very good for variety.

Thank you for your comment! The footage was captured from the official spotting area at Istanbul Airport.There is an online application page for spotters, scheduled to reopen in April 2024: www.istairport.com/en/airport/iga-spotter/?locale=en
Upon approval, IGA contacts you with details about the spotting day.
There are other locations around the airport, but I haven’t been to those spots yet. Many of them are mentioned in this guide: www.spotterguide.net/planespotting/middle-east/turkey/istanbul-new-ist-ltfm/
Using my basic video equipment (tripod, mic, etc.) makes it difficult to maintain a low profile, increasing the risk of issues with authorities. Hence, this official spot has been my safest choice so far. However, I'm interested in discovering other vantage points for future videos and add some variety to the angles.
