I am trying to autotrace text but it just makes the text white. The masks are under the text's properties but the vectors do not appear with the text. It was just working yesterday. Anyone know how to fix that?

You just have to play around with the settings in auto trace and play with the masks add/subtract modes. That usually helps

Just make several copies of it, change the color of each copy, delete the mask shapes that you want, and then set all of the layers to screen

Great Tut so far but.....I have the look I want but when I toggle back to the main screen the logo turns grey I toggle back to the comp channel the logo looks sick again ... I have additional layers with other fonts that are working fine with Saber activated on the main screen as a whole but when I do the trace on a logo it turns grey when toggling back to the main screen.

Yes it works with AE 2020. All the steps are the same. You have to select the option in auto trace to add it to a new layer.

You may have to switch between alpha and transparent. Or delete some of the masks that make up the interior of your logo

Try switching the channel in the auto trace settings to luminescence. The alpha mode usually traces the solid when there is a white background.
