Worf’s response to Riker’s comment was priceless:
“It was like fighting Klingons. No offense Mr Worf”
“None taken.”
Honestly I can imagine most Klingons would take positively to the comment.
Hawking's appearance in the episode originated with a visit to Paramount to film an advertisement for the documentary based on his book, "A Brief History of Time. As a Trekkie, Hawking asked for a tour of the sets. On the bridge, he requested to be helped into the captain's chair. Afterwards, Hawking commented, "It is rather more comfortable and a lot more powerful than my wheelchair." Later, Hawking was interviewed on the engineering set. Referring to the warp core, he said, "I'm working on that." After the visit, Hawking asked if he could appear on the show. Brent Spiner referred to the opportunity to appear with Stephen Hawking as perhaps his favorite moment in the entire experience of doing Star Trek.
I always loved Dr. Hawking appearing on ST:TNG. My nerdy teen self was very enthusiastic about this crossover

Leaving Beverly in charge of the ship instead of Jordi has to be worst decision yet.😊
@@hackman669 Nah, the worst decision would have been, if Troy stayed on board and they gave it to HER. We all know how that's likely to end ... and not just once 😂
RIP Franklin, we hardly knew you.
I knew of Franklin.
He cheated playing poker.
I wonder if Franklin was related to the Franklin that died in the NG Scotty episode. Maybe being a Franklin is the new red shirt curse.
My favorite Franklin moment was the one where he was phasered by the borg.
or when the

his still smoking corpse
Kind of strange I finally got to your current video and I can't just click for the next one. Interesting videos.
A big Federation-wide thing: even Data says he and his brother will destroy the Federation! And then… that doesn’t even get close to happening…
New reverse angle and I am HERE FOR IT
Crusher does use that forcefield in another episode....the one her Ferangi buddy invented.
Can we get a quick, "In the arms of an Angel" montage for franklin. Play the song on a kazoo or something and show every frame of his existance.
expendable crewman lol. you reminded me of a star trek parody in an episode of Adventures in Odyssey
Interesting fact Stephen Hawkins died on pi day😢 2018
Another interesting fact, he is the only person to ever play themselves on any Star Trek.
Don't forget about Mick Fleetwood in Manhunt.
I wasn't ready for those rowdy borg. 🤣

Great slow piano music in this one Nick. Any way for the rest of us to listen to it? Keep up the great content you guys
That particular music wasn't mine, it was from CZcams's audio library: Rain Fuse by French Fuse.

Wow, you're finally through Season 6. It's hard to believe that after you post the bloopers and season summary episodes, you'll only have 29 more videos to get through (26 reviews, 1 more bloopers, 1 more season summary, and a series summary), and then you'll be completely done with TNG. So long as you keep this schedule, you'll be done on April 24, 2023.
Voyager next!!

I think he was pretty good at math.
If Data could only find pleasure in senseless violence, well, I'd make a pun about Bad Robot and Spock. Anyway, I can't wait to see Beverly live up to her full potential in part two. I'm hoping she destroys the whole Borg. But then she can't stop at the Borg. She'd've devolved into a savage, and it wouldn't be ethical to stop her. Thank you all for entertaining me.
I've always cringed at that "Sons of Soong" line. That's like WWE levels of ham writing. Like, what are they gonna do? Body slam a political organization?
I'd watch them participate in a title match against Riker and Worf. I'm sure the Holodeck could load up the Hell in a Cell ring...
@@TheInfamousBob314 Sons of Soong vs. The Starfleet Slammers!
Good review. Love the somber music and epitaph for the death shirts! Classic. If I may make a suggestion, how but some Kansas in the background, but instead of "Dust in the Wind" how about "Yellow shirts in the vacuum"?
I almost forgot what episode this was until you got to Lore. The episode was intriguing until they got the reveal and yep then it hit me, it's the Lore returns episode. In just reviewing this episode and this episode alone a C+/B- seems like a fair grade. Not one of my favorite characters, but the suspense leading up to the Lore reveal was done well.
I'm surprised at the positive review. I remember watching this episode as a kid, denying to myself that TNG was running out of steam, and actively disliking this episode possibly more than any other in recent memory. The worst part is I knew the first episode of Season 7 would be similarly unwatchable after the long summer break, and I was right. It's even stupider than this one and really sets the tone for Season 7 in the worst way. Gambit gets bagged on a lot but in the context of S7 it's a welcome reprieve when we finally get to it.
Genesis. That was the moment.
It was kind of like the later seasons of MacGyver, where he's in the ghetto helping turn the lives of gangster teens around. It's nice and all, but Mac was basically a spy-of-all-trades at the beginning of the series, not a social worker. Kept on downhill from there.

Hilarious, as usual. 😂
8:18 You only really have to follow the prime directive if it is Data and a borg talking,
non-interference you know.
Gotta follow Starfleet protocol you know.
Besides, the guy can't be distracted from playing space Tetris on his monitor to listen anyway.
Lore forms an alliance with rogue Borg and manipulates Data into helping him by using an emotion chip which allows Data to feel any emotion.
LOL I didn’t know so many people hated this episode. It’s hilarious reading these comments😂. I don’t remember being that upset with this one. In fact, I kind of enjoyed it. I like watching Brett Spiner play off of himself and I didn’t mind getting a followup on Hugh seeing that we almost never get follow ups on interesting concepts/characters. RIP Franklin, it seems like only yesterday😁
Great review as always. ♥
A decent Descent review.
I want to give you a "D" for descent but it's an A+ review.
Great review, as always. You guys are hilarious! But I'm curious: "Ultra" warp?
I think they meant "trans-warp".

He imagines Beverly flying the ship into a star. Funny you should mention that...
Funny how that admiral is portrayed as an antagonist but she usually seems to be right. Well except in her DS9 appearance, then she's portrayed as clueless. But she was 100% right in this episode. Id o wish this built up to something more than what we get. Leaving the doctor in charge and sending down every crew member practically just to find one android seems like a bad tactical decision. Dianna continues to unimpress as a counselor. But the episode was still mildly entertaining. Oh and yeah too bad the federationf orget about this tech after the second part. And that piano bit reminded me of an Avenged Sevenfold song.
I wonder how much time will it take for you to get to the DS9.
They’ve mentioned in a previous video that they may not do DS9.
Ugh, DS9. Hated that show. I don't think I could get bribed to review that series.
I'm Data the War criminal *whistles* maybe I'm just bad. Ugh these episodes.
Who would've guessed the biggest threat in space would be not wormholes or black-holes but plot-holes? lol
Time's asshole. lmao. I feel like I've seen that movie once.
If the Ferengi are an entrepreneurial species, then they would make more latinum by making friends with other species, definitely not by being a threat to them.
I actually always thought the data should get his emotions by evolving into them like the dream program of course the writers didn't go with that and he needed a hardwire upgrade
This is what happens when you have Data do a untested software update. 😉
Data had to know what the feelings chip did to his crazy brother Lore.
I can’t wait until you compare your Beverly comments to what she actually does in part 2
Amazing that Stephen Hawking consented to being in Star Trek since it plays fast and loose with its pseudo science.

Descent... How to make the Borg boring.
First, I can't resist.
LORE'S PLAN has flaws
what if the
BRIDGE CREW
killed CROSIS ?
Thanks again for the review, I enjoy them.
A weak end to a weak season. I always found Lore to be the worst character, perhaps because of Spiner's acting. The idea of compartmentalized Borg is not revisited again. The whole concept of Lore's character is ridiculous: Dr Soong just adds an 'emotion chip' in a short period of time and he's acting human? It is just such a clunky concept. I think that with Data, they needed to stop with this 'character growth' bs and just having him be an android. That's part of the charm of the character, not that he's just a regular guy with silver facepaint. This emotion chip stuff comes up in First Contact, and it's easily the weakest plotline of an otherwise strong movie.
C- Sorry, I just don't like this one but the production value is there, keeping it out of the D range.
neat :)
Ugh..... Probably the worst two-parter in TNG.
The Gambit?
@@Convoy00X Another good choice, and Time's Arrow should be down there too. However none of these have, basically, two Lores twirling their moustaches at the same time and Data drilling Geordi's skull while whistling or some shit. I think Descent is not just a nonsensical, boring episode, I think it trashes the character of Data too. That's why it's on my skip list.
Yeah, the suspense leading up to the reveal wasn't too bad, in fact, I actually enjoyed it a little, and then we get Lore! Boy, big ugh there. That pretty much ruined the chance at a decent ending and the next episode. They should have kept that character in more mystery...it's one character that could have used it.
I'll gladly take both Time's Arrow and Gambit over this. The most positive thing I have to say is at least they used on-location shooting for the planet scenes rather than the beyond tired exact-same-rocks-as-always set.
I hear the episode is Descent... Hehehe
Are You guys going to review All of the newer shows?
You can't describe any feeling without another feeling...just like you can't describe a color without referring to another color... sensory input is simply indescribable to someone without access to that type of sense....try to describe purple to a person that has been blind since birth. What would you do?
Agreed, that's my point. Why does this reviewer repeatedly say ULTRA when it is TRANS-warp (repeatedly) in the episode?
I would love to see you guys on RLM with Mike Stoklasa.
The strength of TNG was the chemistry between the cast. Helps you ignore the many plot holes.
Are you calling it UltraWarp because if it was TransWarp you’d get demonetised 😂🥹
Thank you for keeping this voice over and not making it about you and your life outside of this mission you're on like so many channels.
I don't want to see you.
Just saying.
Descent into cringe. I guess I just can’t stand Lore!
I can't stand when Brent Spiner plays anyone other than Data. He overacts and is so annoying
