Paint protection film (PPF, also called clear bra, clear film or clear paint film) is a thermoplastic urethane often self-healing film applied to painted surfaces of a new or used car in order to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatters, and minor abrasions. This film is also used on airplanes, RVs, cell phones, electronics, screens, motorcycles, and many other areas.
What other mistakes would you like to add to the list?
use quality and CLEAN microfibers to remove residue / prep. Otherwise you scratch the surface you just polished. Also, always work out of the sunlight
Time polishing per section. RUPES often talks about 1-minute to keep product at its best before diminishing
How dare you put this content out for free and not charge me $300 for a video course!!! Kidding. Thank you Brian, you're always my go to for looking at products and techniques.
Brian one important thing I’ve learned is organization. I’ve learned the hard way to have everything ready for what I’m about to do. Otherwise you waste time looking for stuff. Where did I put that brush. Where is my extension cord. Do I have enough supplies to finish the job. Great advice as always.
It’s videos like this that made me wonder why you don’t have millions of viewers. This should be mandatory watching with a polisher purchase.
I’ve been detailing for 5 years now I have learned most of my techniques from you Brain and I highly appreciate your videos. Nice refresher ( if that’s even a word) class. Thank you again.
Brain is pretty cool, huh? 😜
Love your teachings. No matter how skilled I become. I always watch every video to learn more from you
Yet another amazing video and content good friend
For some of us , it’s a gentle reminder , for some it’s invaluable information. Always a pleasure to watch your videos, informative and entertaining sometimes as well. Have always loved your no nonsense approach.
Protecting the car with tape as well as tape on sharp edges as an extra precaution.
Another great video,so much knowledge shared by you brian,I've learnt more from your channel dealing with.imperfections enhancements, and honest product reviews!
Good one, Brian. In my experience I've probably bought too much stuff. I find myself going back to what works for me and all the other stuff just sits there wasted. Can be expensive. That's why reviews are important for me. Thank you.
As someone who has never done paint correction/polishing (I don't even own a polisher) I find your videos give me confidence for when I actually attempt it. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Excellent topic and video for discussion Brian. Always appreciate everything you share with us truly a delight to watch and learn from.
Great info. Even if some viewers already knew these we all need reminders
A very excellent tutorial Brian. Keep up the great work.
Something I did when starting was not cleaning/changing the pad(s) and continued using the same one on 2 panels while adding more polish. Big mistake, and I had to try to see what I wasnt doing correctly. I was doing and learning all on my own and then figured out to replace/clean the pad per panel. I was 13 years old when that happened, practicing what I saw doing my uncle but forgot to take notes on all I saw from the paint shop.
Another excellent video for the video library Brian. I learned a word of knowledge from you and so can anyone else. They can watch your videos and practice on some panels from the body shop. That’s how I learned years ago.Great to have been involved in this channel for many years 💎👊🏼
Its amazing how you share all this for free to the beginners etc that then sont habe to learn the hard way. Video is as always on point 100👌
Thanks for the great lessons Brian. Over correcting on the thin paints these days is crucial!
Very informative thanks Brian! 👍
Haha. Really enjoyed this one B. Felt like an old school video. Classic B ❤❤
The ego part was spot on, very serious and on point, all of us probably did it more than once, doing much more than what it was paid for, chasing as better result as possible, in order to leave a better impression and to make sure that the client is happy...
I haven't watched any of your videos for a while, but it looks like you have stepped up your game with a much better camera/resolution!
Great video Brian ! Always learning no matter how long I have been doing this. THANK YOU !
Another informative video Brian. Learned something new about using panel wipe too soon. Thank you.
Organization always have everything you’ll need, and also go in with a plan
Great video. I learned a lot from watching you threw the years. And I keep learning
Brian is a superb teacher with a wealth of knowledge. I’ve learned and continue to learn through His excellent channel. Thank You!
That was a fun one!!
Like this kind 👌
Excellent class tutorial, thank you !!
That was an excellent video. Excellent info. Thank you
Excellent video, thanks Brian 👍😁
Excellent tutorial! You just taught an entire lesson on "Do's and Don'ts".👍🏾
Great advise.
Thank you Sir 👌🏽great information like always.
some more great stuff.👍👍👍👍👍
Great tutorial 👌
I like to use lighting the same way you do. One source
Great tips!
Great video and you gave us a lot of real tips. I have learned being in a good mood is very helpful for staying methodical. I have tried to speed up the polisher on really hard paint but looking back just grabbing the rotary with a wool pad would have been a better choice. As far as lighting I prefer to dark box too. Thank you for a video we all needed to hear.
Great tutorial. Thanks Brian!
Thank you for another informative video. What One-Step polish do you find to be the easiest to work with?
I would like to see a segment for us people that don't have real garages that live in Phoenix area which extreme heat
There is a channel that has their own product line that constantly brings up that they use ZERO pressure and runs the polisher around one handed. I’ve never seen you do this.
I have polished my car seven times with three polishes but I have not been able to remove the holograms I put there - they have gotten so bad. I can’t polish anymore because I’m afraid of destroying the paint because it has very thin clear coat. So now I enjoy detailing through watching videos.
That is so sad😢
Which polisher did you use? DA or Gear driven? With both of them you can get the holograms out. Good luck if you give it another try
Hey Brian ,
Very informative video. I just started a detailing business and just placed a large order for products and a 5in DA polisher ( 9mm throw) and a 3 in polisher ( 8mm throw) from a company here in 🇨🇦 called Carzilla. Anyways I just wanted to ask if you've used any polishing compounds from Carpro and if so what's your opinion on them? The compounds I ordered were Carpro's Ultracut, Reflect & Essence with a mixture of Micro fiber pads and medium cut and finishing foam pads. I am hoping that those start me off in the right direction.
Thanks for your videos 👍
I perfer leinier lighting over the octagon type, just watching video’s with that type of lighting seems very hard on the eyes
Good video, is there a reason why you can only upload on 720p?
This is why your Yoda at jedi temple......
Awesome stuff as always man! Q: do I need an air compressor to blow out MF pads while polishing? Or will a brush work well enough to clean them?
Question please: Once clear coat is ‘melted’ (blurry, cloudy, etc.) can it be brought back to its original clear state?
No panel prep needed if you’re using the NPS line of compounds/polishes. 👍🏻😁
Quick question. Is a repainted panel treated differently than OEM paint?
Brian, where d you get the stand for the panel?
Are you saying that once a two-stage paint correction is done, that process should not be done again? What to do if the paint became swirly again after a couple of years?
got a link to the paint thickness gauge you reference at 5:17?
I’m still polishing beyond what people paid for. It’s given me a good reputation, but it’s not sustainable.
Do you use a paint depth gauge that can read plastics/carbon fiber?
I am always confused when you say you clean the pad after each pass compared to panel. Can you do actual video to help us ?
Great video dude🤝
Kckity Klack I always come Back👌. I had to watch this twice because listening is a skill and always be. It’s the words I live by🫡👀
