Great video dave, that's another one added to the list
Well worth adding to your collection.👍
I love the confidence of your videos and all your spider and how well behaved there are. A true pro
Thanks buddy really appreciate your support 👍
Dave got his little beasties out 😂😂😂 (toes)
Beautiful spider 🥰🥰🥰 thank you Mr and Mrs Dave ❤️
It’s blue leg baboon is such a recommended first old world T
It all depends how you react 😂👍
Man not mine 😆 mine is extremely defensive and it's only about 3 inches at this point, it threat displays and slaps wen I just touch the enclosure as soon as it feels any disturbance whatsoever it's in a threat posture
hi dave, i was gifted one of these recently so watching your vids on em so i know how to take care of them, beautiful spider, thank you for another awesome video 😍😍😍
Hi dave n camera lady, i went out and purchased one of this species 😂 only a baby but i got the last one in stock, sweet that mate😊
You always make it look easy :) I just got my first sling, my first OW. Really happy so far, great eater and pretty active.
Thanks enjoy your nw spider 👍
I’ve got one these, fantastic species, only time a T has escaped from me was when I was rehousing her as a baby, she bolted but I found her 2 mins later, down the side of the bed an radiator🕷🕷🕷🕷
HAHA they are pretty quick 😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties my mistake was she was on the enclosure lid I stupidly thought it was safe then bam she disappeared😂😂😂
I have two of these and they’re definitely one of my favourite species. Always out and always eat!
They are very cool Jen
very informative and a beautiful species,.
Very beautiful spider! The coloring is outstanding. The young ones are adorable.
Thank you so much 😀
Totally love your channel Dave! You really know your stuff. I have learned so much from you. My daughter and I have a great interest in tarantulas, we have only 8 right now. We are beginners at best. Definitely no old worlds yet. Once we gain more confidence we will move up, slowly. We do love our spiders!
That is awesome!
I really like this setup. Really nice.
Thank you 👍
So well behaved. After the last molt, mine has become rather defensive.
I saw the video on how you maintain the collection - specifically with keeping the class clean on the Exo's with the front opening doors. How do you go about cleaning the glass for the enclosures which open from the top (like the Komodo in this video) rather than the front? With some species I can see putting your hand in could be risky and trigger a food response. For example, say you have a Poki in an enclosure that opens from the top
I still do them the same , if the spider is out and in the way I just gently move it round so it hides behind the bark , if its a terrestrial spider I sometimes feed them first or just move them , occasionally I screw up a wad of tissue enough so I can hold it in my tweezers and clean like that .
Lovely video! Thank you 👍
Your very welcome my friend 👍
Lovely spider thanks
Beautiful 😍
Thank you 👍
My favourite species
There cracking jo
And decision sealed!!!
Have you ever thought of adding a little sand to your mix for the spiders who like it really dry?
Awesome T's seem to be a half and half mixed bag on personalities and if they stay out alot. bought a bunch of slings a while ago and 1 died and the others all matured out so i shipped them off. But i managed to grab a juvenile female that is coming tomorrow. So I will have something a bit hardier and that i can enjoy for a while. Lets hope I get a calmer specimen as i love the genus and the H.pulchripes is the most stunning of the harpactira.
I think your enclosures look great. How do you keep the plants alive? Mine always die off in a month or so.
I have started using grow lights , I have done a video on them 👍
I was always told that H Pulcripes was a good starter OW because they're not as high strung as most baboons.
They are pretty calm but flighty and dont show much aggression rather run away 👍
Stunning species. What plant have you used in the tank ?
Now you got me I don't know 😂😂😂
Lol
Have one we just rescued from a bad situation. She was hidden for first couple of days, but now hangs out on the side of the enclosure. Kind of strange.
Would love one of them, but since they are native its illegal for me along with quite a number of other genus's.
Thats such a shame mate
Update dave n camera lady, my pulchripes has only 6 legs 🤷♂️ how?? So im just waiting for it to molt again
This sometimes happens in a moult we dont yet understand why ?
Would really like to see an update and possible feeding video of this species. To me this is my ideal T but I've never owned one, how do you think it would be as a beginner species as I've heard mixed reviews.
I am going to do a rehouse and care very soon on these spiders 👍
A beginner species for someone who is new to tarantulas? Absolutely not bro it's an old world and a baboon at that, defensive and has potent venom, mine is about 3 inches only and it is extremely defensive and threat postures at the slightest movement
👍👍
i can never manage to keep those ficus plants alive. do you water them often? do you let the soil dry? great video as usual!
Lighting tends to be the downfall of most vivarium plants they need very good lighting.
Does she hide a lot or always out on display?
As they mature there always out
Been looking at some old world species lately. Would you say this are a great old world starter
These or balfouri are good starters 👍
These are perfect as a starter, the slings are bit harder to keep.
I like the fact that you put live plants in your inclosures ..seems more naturel. She is nice well camouflage beside the moss.lol don't worry its ok if they don't pounce every kid as made liars out of us parent one time or another ..lol
😂😂 She has settled nicely now and is out a lot of the time too .
Would you keep them semi arboreal like your OBTs?
I have done yes
Many spiders seem to feel secure in homes that are not very large.
Hey hey uncle dave!! Ok so I need a bit of ur wisdom! I noticed in ur other vid on these guys that u had one set up arboreal and one set up terrestrial I'm curious what you found u felt was better which one got on better or were they both just fine and they adapted?! I haven't found any specific answer on if they are terrestrial or arboreal or somewhere in the middle I'm currently waiting on a sling in the mail as I type this and I have a few diff types of enclosure ready depending but I figured who better to ask!!
As a sling I would house terrestrial but once they are juvies they will adapt well to either style of enclose
Oh u freaking rock thank u so much for responding so damn quick u really are fuckin awesome much love from new York lol Id love to send u some pics I mirrored all my enclosures based off how u do things so I truly appreciate ur help I went from 0 to 7 in a few weeks and I want them to all have the best possible care I got lucky all my reptiles are in brumation which is allowing me to basically only focus on the spiders and learn a good bit before having more on my plate
@@daveslittlebeastiesidk if u have an email but I'll look on ur utube ands have to send u some pics unless ur on Instagram or something I can send it there
@@daveslittlebeasties ok I have another random question do u use ur ground cover moss in the enclosures where the t will dig or no or yes but only on one side??
So I have a pulchripes and before it’s last molt it was a bright blue on the legs like a female but now even months after molting it is still a dull brown and certified male with hooks
Was just wondering if they end up losing their color or what
Yes the males change with their last moult into maturity 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties thank you sir your my favorite and most informative channel without doubt
@@theshader3897 ❤❤❤
About how big do the males mature?
Its more about growth rate and feeding I have seen males at 1 1/2 inc and 3 inc ?
Anyone know what brand of enclosures they are? Been looking for some like that
Hi there, it was housed in a 20x20x30 Komodo
Got to rehouse mine soon ,do you still keep yours like this
Ye although I am about to rehouse into a terrestrial enclosure ready for pairing 👍
Is it easy to tell at a young age what sex they are because of the color difference?
Not really you a moult to be sure 👍
Lose a finger?
🤎💙🤎💙🤎💙🤎
Shave your hole head man I keep looking at that grey Friar Tuck…..get rid your videos awsome👍🏻
You kind of defeat the purpose of trying to create a dry environment when you put a living plant and moss in there 😂
We can still keep the environment dry and maintain the plant becouse these spiders to appreciate a little humidity 👍
