Elbphilharmonie Explains | ...the zinc

A slightly bent wooden tube with holes like a recorder - the zinc is rarely seen or heard today. Yet it was one of the most popular instruments from the 15th to well into the 17th century. The zinc player Cathérine Dörücü explains the instrument with its unique sound, which early on had the reputation of being closer to the human voice than any other instrument.

Ein wunderbarer Klang, der mich als Trompeter immer wieder fasziniert. Leider ist es doch sehr diffizil, den/die Zinken so sauber zu spielen. Der Ziehbereich ist immens groß, von einem "slotting" der Töne kann nun wirklich nicht die Rede sein. Da sind ein sehr spezifischer Ansatz, ein extrem gutes und geschultes Gehör und eine profunde Stilistik gefordert. Welche Art von Cornetto spielen Sie bei dieser Aufnahme...? cornetto curvo in D, in A, cornettino curvo ?

Würde man den Zink aufgrund der ähnlichen Spielweise zur Trompete, Horn u. Ä. als Blechblasinstrument bezeichnen? Oder ist die Unterscheidung im Deutschen da anders als im Englischen (Brass/Woodwind)?

Zink auf Englisch heißt nicht zinc sondern cornett. Zinc is das Metall.
