Holy s__t!! The ONLY reason I went looking for this song from its original production was because of the power in the chorus you’ve given it in this production. I had never heard of it before tonight.
It floored me.
AND, At about 2:20 into your version what happens between the acoustic guitar and the bass is just a little god-like in my opinion.
Melanie’s voice; so full, so clear, so classy, so unencumbered. No falsetto-fashioned over reach! No melisma, no over-dramatization, just a clean clear round head and throat tone that is to DIE for! Unpretentious, so real, so emotive in its sincerity, and SO accurately rendered.
