He's decided to take on the Tuscany Trail, a route taking in the beautiful landscape of this region in Italy. This is certainly not a race, but a challenge for everyone involved! He has set himself a goal of completing it in two days. Can he do it?

Finland, Norway, Sweden, all have great cycling routes during the summer.
Great places to visit.
Next do the Indian Pacific Wheel Ride in Australia. That would be the longest non race event - 5.500 km - used to be a race. Would love to do that myself.
What about Vätternrundan in Sweden ? My sister and I are giving it a go next weekend . We are keeping our fingers crossed we can make it round all 315 km.
Could you release the full documentary about Simon and James' Himalayan adventure? For all of us to watch? I'd very much like to see that one.
Slow-paced, non-competitive content is great for Conor. His joy is infectious.
I think this is the best type of bike ride to watch.
When you go really, really long, your speed is your speed. Then it becomes mental. So much fun. You train to make your "easy" as fast as possible and that's the best you can do. Because if ride is long enough, anything harder than "easy" will blow you up.
Mate, were we watching the same video? Twenty three hours of riding in two days is “non competitive”? It’s not a race, but he rode it like one. The idea of TT is adventure, sights, and being on your bike in Tuscany. To ride it that fast is to miss the point completely.
It's comes from the trauma of being exploited for his draft.

Please keep this type of content coming 🥰 and ease off on the silly comparison/competition videos (..can Olly swim across the Mediterranean... will Si beat GMBN in a barrel roll down a mountain... what happens to your fitness if you eat pancakes every day... etc. etc )
The click bait stuff is such cr&p. Like making Si do crossfit with predictable (and humiliating) results.

The "clickbait" content is much cheaper to produce, and brings them the money and exposure (for sponsors) to make epic videos like this.
When ever I feel fatigued, I always say to myself, 'I don't have to do this, I get to do this' it changes my perception and gives me that bit more energy mentally and physically. Good on ya Connor, you smashed it 👌

I love these long form features with Connor. There’s something about the way he talks about riding and fun and the journey of the ride, it really brings me back to having my first bike

@gcn yes.. 1990 UK until my Specialized Rock Combo (the original gravel bike?) was stolen in Spain... and more recently 2020, Tasmania. I love love love riding my bike. Next? Malaysia.

Simply so we could all enjoy more of the stunning landscapes and see you take that dip in the sea on arrival. I so wished you had decided to make it a 3 day adventure, while your blood sugars were low prior to your bolognese. Sometimes you need to channel your inner Jack Thurston.

I have to admit, with all the stopping you were doing, I never thought you'd make it in two days. HUGE tip of the cap to you for doing so. And you're absolutely right, it's much more about the journey and not the destination, especially when you're riding through beautiful country like that.

Well his packs were all empty
I did the TT last year,...the only mistake I made was that it took me 3 days instead of 5, or 6. The environment is just too beautiful to rush through it. Sometimes I felt like riding into a postcard...simply amazing.
That's a great point! If we ever go back it'll be a ride to savour, more ice cream and pizza we think 🇮🇹

A friend of mine did the Tuskany Trail this year too, in the usual five days ... he had enough time for pasta, ice cream, staying in Siena, coffee and cake! 😊

well done Conor - good on ya - having ridden in Toscana myself I know the area quite well - it is epic road cycling - it rarely ever rains - no matter how threatening the clouds it all just fades away - the most you get is a dew rolling off the coastal ridge every morning

Maybe you could have a video on how to manage the logistics of doing this on your own (i.e. where do you leave your bike case and other luggage). Not all of us have a team following us in a van. Good video despite Conor not suffering and cracking.

The joy in this is such a contrast to the pain of last year's Unbound! Even when hitting the point of exhaustion with 90k of difficult roads to go, it's a whole different world facing that in a beautiful town with a plate of pasta on its way! I've only even taken a day cycle tour into the Tuscan hills from Florence but it was one of the best tourist things I've ever done. Beautiful!

I love that Conor snuck mention of "Type 2 Fun" into his Tuscany narrative. Any of us who watched and loved the GCN+ documentary "Slow Pro Tour: Canary Islands" remembers when Larry Warbasse defined Type 2 vs. Type 1 Fun for Conor. I even filmed that scene on my phone while re-watching SPT:CI in the final days of GCN+ when i tried to re-watch as many of the films as possible before they vanished into the evil WB void. So glad to see the videos on GCN's current platform approaching GCN+ films in length and spirit. Conor's next bike-packing trip should include Jack Thurston or Larry Warbasse!
