Thank you for the video! I have a question. I started making the bag and could not get gauge no matter what I did. I bought 2mm cotton cord but it appears slightly thicker than yours and was difficult to work with using a 3mm hook. So I changed to a 4mm hook after I completed the base. My base,53 rows, was 33mm. Anyways my bag is going to be really big. My question is do you think it was the type or brand of cord? I'm generally a tight crocheter so I am stumped. Any suggestions?

Your bags are beautiful😍Thank you for the tutorials. I’m not sure what are where to purchase the 2 mm soft cotton roping. I’m wanting to make a market tote. This look strong and durable. Wonder if putting grommets with a cording are webbing crochet around them would make them firmer 🥰🥰🥰

When a pattern calls for 2mm cotton roping, I usually just purchase Macrame Cord. Try looking for that in stores or online. You can usually find 2mm or 3mm.

I want to say thank you for such a good video. It is so clear and I look forward to making this bag. Right now I have a 3.00 mm hook and using 2mm cord, but for the life of me I cant get the width to be 8cm. I tried the first time and was too tight and even then it was 10cm. when you are done doing your 53 rows, is your actual width really 8cm?
Yes, It is. I pull the rope quite tight and maybe my rope size is smaller than that a little bit around 1.8 - 2 mm even if it's written on the label 2mm. 😊😊
