normally it would tell you to take it to a pay n spray before you get the "Don't damage the car" instruction
Well, it makes sense - you're supposed to fake an accident, so the dude stops and gets out, then you have to repair the car and not damage it on your way to meet up so nobody's suspicious. Fake accidents, breakchecks, boxing in are all "strats" for real life car theft (aka grand theft auto, used in the United States for motor vehicle theft).

I remember I spent more than 4 days trying to do that Zero's airplane mission where you need to destroy certain objectives around San Fierro and come back to the store before you run out of fuel. That was one of the most difficult missions I did in my gaming life

I used to play this game all the time when I was a kid. Unfortunately I never finished it due to missions not appearing. Thought my disc was broken. Tried fixing it with toothpaste, never worked. Never found the answer. Until now. Decided to pay attention to the last mission I remembered. They talked about soft locking the game when you blow the car up too fast (1:03:15). I was like 10 years old when playing this lol I'm kinda proud of myself for being such a speedrunner lol

still my favorite san andreas speedrun i've watched. i love listening to these 3 just shoot the shit about this game.
Rewatching this in July of 2020, feels weird seeing a run of this length called "Any%" now, and not "Any% no AJS"
More weird is Josh talking about the whole game skip in Las Venturas
@@felipe.23 You mean the boat school? From what I know the town it's located in is accessible from the very start of the game, and with careful manoeuvring you can get there without getting 4 stars. I don't remember if the school itself is accessible at that point, or do you have to first get access to driving school in SF first, I also don't know if it's changed in mobile/Windows Store edition.
That being said, there were some shenanigans with it and mission scripts in mobile/WS edition that were looked into before AJS was found and optimised.
@@rubbers3 He alluded to Vice City any% being completely broken with SSU (taking WR from 50-something minutes to under 10) in a way that's not fun or entertaining to do, hence why most Vice City runs at marathons are in the "Any% No SSU" category. San Andreas any% was broken in about the same way less than a month after this run (now taking 20 minutes instead of 4 hours) and just like VC, true any% isn't popular and "Any% No AJS" (essentially what Joshimuz is unning there) is what people actually compete in because it's way more fun.
I've thought for a while that when speedrunners say "game is dead", it means that the WR has been perfectly optimized and there's no way to improve on it, but what it actually means is the fastest way through the game is no longer skillful or engaging. That's what happened to both VC and SA.
