This is the most interesting, practical and real field tests that I have ever seen. The 'adjustments' to the crown and the loose moderator were very good. Well done
I doff my hat to you Stephen Higgs, 'put your foot on it to take it off' was comedic timing genius, I am still laughing. Quite interesting on the moderator stuff and shows the strength of Mauser actions in particular, well done.
Good day team, glad to see this video as many people asking me about shortening the length of a rifle's barrel, will tell the to watch the video. The drop at 300 or so meters is more the a meter or so,, thanks team and regards,, Tony.
You gentlemen are evil! This video was the most terrible horror movie I've ever seen! I'm an American certified gunsmith and avid owner/hunter. My heart is bleeding tears. But its proof that quality guns are tough. Nice informative video in spite of my heartbreak. 👍
My thoughts are, when the barrel is over heated then it expands and so making the caliber of said barrel slightly larger then the round will rattle way down barrel and upsetting the harmonics and distort prussure way of gas expansion of barrel.
Parker Hale & Midland guns also goes slow and cheap here in Denmark. Solid working guns though, not much fancy or nice to them, but they get the job done
Interesting. I stick a tiny bit of electrical tape on the end of my barrel when I am hunting. It prevents moisture & debris getting in the barrel. No need to remove it to shoot.
I have seen a revolver with several bullets stuck in the bore. Don't know how drunk or stupid the owner was! Forgetting powder can be a problem too, especially with revolvers. The primer by itself can get a bullet past the forcing cone sometimes.
There is several tests out there regarding the importance of the crown. And most people find out that the crown is not nearly as importaint as people make it out. What is MORE importaint is a good barrel really, the crown is just going to tive you the last few % and the shooter is always more importaint.
@@johnstacy7902 I have 22 inch on a .375, with ligtweight scope and Rhodesian Sling its following a bit of the Colonel Cooper's Dragoon lines. And i got a 20 inch .458 which will be good for steep hills with short to medium ranges after moose and red deer with a 400 grain in front of.

I went back to watch that over about 5 times ahahahaha
My old man always said Mauser actions were pretty strong, seems he was right!
The test I would like to see is, what would happen if you accidentally put your 22/250 suppressor on your 308?
Everything i ever wanted to experiment in One single video!
Big Thanks!!
i suspect the mod being loose was down to barrel harmonics and not pressure at all .

That was an awesome production guys. Fun and informative. Keep up the great work.

i thought having a gunsmith would make it easier to damage guns but obviously you need someone who understands logic
If you ask me them rifles and that silencer stood up to a good battering .
One of the best series 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

It hurts to see these gun destroyed. But very interesting to see how some damage or weather can impact the gun.
Yes the Parker Hale Safari still seemed a half decent rifle!🤭
Boys and toys.
Fantastic
That was as others have said, an excellant informative video. Well done chaps.
Taking gun "safety" to a whole new level!
A bet you could learn a right lot of tim. Plus good laf
Good test, would be nice to get some new rifles to see what they do, as you said David.
Well done grandad
Not what I expected , mazing.
Another great vid thanks all
Great video, a good laugh and educational. We've done it so you don't have to as they say.
17hmr with a round stuck in the barrel from split casing, then a second shot fired after...
Best comment ever. put your foot on if to take it off.
Fantastic! 👌
Why didnt you test a 6,5 moderater on a .308 gun?

Great show guys keep them coming
I wondered what the teat was for on the end of the condom.

Great show very interesting
Great job, thank you Sir 👍💯💯💯🔥
A very interesting video/ experiment.
Still didn’t burst the Mauser breech!wow!🤭🧐🤗
Your old man was absolutely right
Can I ask what happened to the light tests that was mentioned at the end of the previous field tester?
Please can you remind me - what were the light tests about? / Charlie
We're working on a foxing theme for the next show so we'll bring lamps, lights and torches into that. 👍David
Wow lads that was cringy to watch but baffling.....see what I did there🤣 the condom joke ....pmsl
It just goes to show that a lot of those exploded rifles you see on CZcams are likely faked for views !
.375 or .338 with long barrel and cut down would be a good one to do later.
I've seen guys in both Alaska and Africa with 375 h&h with 20" barrels. Stop a brown 🐻 or a lion no problem
