I really like the way you go into the details explaining how you plan on integrating the features you describe. It really helps me as a learner myself to have a second point view from someone like yourself. Another bangger like always!! Lezz gooo!
Let’s gooooo! Appreciate that 🤝
@@JacobSucksAtCode No worries, dude. We need more devs like you. Also would it be kl if you do a short section in maybe one of your future vids, where you talk a bit about how to think about your application's security? Cause I am having so much doubt whether the code I am writing is safe etc. Thanks dude!
Bro this is what we want....amazing coding motivation boosters...
More to come!
Yo Jacob, you have one of the most realistic and relatable day in the life vids for devs man. I can almost predict what most day in the life of software devs looks like. It goes wakeup, gym, breakfast, tiny bit of work no real insight then dinner then gym. But with yours, the code and the insight is the highlight. I love it keep it up ❤
Feels like in a CI/CD discussion watching this video, very nice Jacob!
LOVE the details you dove into this video!🙌🏼🙌🏼 this type of real engineering is so useful for the community 🎉
Appreciate that legend 🤝🤝
Man as a web developer myself I absolutely loved the way you were thinking out loud. Loved the video and the thing is that this video just randomly came on my feed and I am glad I watched it and subscribed as well 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Awesome, thank you!
I don’t have a clue about coding but love these videos ahah
The thought process and design so clear and concise I'm sure anyone who doesn't suck at code like Jacob can build along
Awesome video, keep up the great work 💪
Hi Jacob, another awesome video!
For the UX you can try and copy what is done on the mobile side.
With Paywall we usually have up to 3 options os subscription one bellow the other with just a little bit of detail.
Usually with tools like revenuecat we can select the main option/subscription, the reason is to reduc3 friction, we want the user to have the least amount of taps/clicks to purchase something
hope it helps
Thanks mate!
Even though I don't understand everything you say because my English is not very good, I still love your videos and feel motivated to be a successful programmer...so thank you
If a creator decides to remove a subscription
1. Remove it from the list (hard or soft delete)
2. I would recommend setting up a from job to run on an interval that would perform any clean up related to lingering subscriptions after the delete takes place. Maybe a daily job that makes a user inactive once they’ve reached the end of the current subscription and haven’t updated to a new one.
Great video also!
As far as the "Deleted Subscription" model would work - I would suggest doing it like all big companies do it when they change their subscriptions - sent out a notice of the new pricing - after a certain amount of time the user would would be switched to the new subscription and plan (let's say 30 days) they can go in and downgrade if they want - and then once everyone is transferred that old subscription could be deleted - or you could have them automatically transferred to the new subscription and be "grandfathered" in - have some kind of indicator saying that they are on the new sub but paying the old price - that might get too messy though. (prob why a lot of big companies stopped doing that)
Waiting for PNG to be added to the payments section. I know it’s not a priority feature considering the list of features you need to build. But can’t wait when you can have a bit of time to look into that - I’m pretty much stuck at this stage of setting up the subbb. Thanks Jacob! Loving the build series!
Hey! What’s do you mean by PNG?
@@JacobSucksAtCode my bad Jacob. PNG - Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬
love the vid!
"So we actually need to refactor the entire build. I don't think it'll be too crazy.." lol, good luck my friend
😂
Man, subbb's on its wayyyyy 🦄🚀
Another great video!
Enjoying your videos.
Love your content, Jacob. The videos you make are very interesting and educational. I have a question about how you deploy your projects. Greetings from Belgium!
I feel like this could have been an email 😂
Awesome video and loving the series of you building out the app. There's an amazing balance of showing code and getting technical whilst also getting across the high level view of what it is
Hahahah
love the vid!!!!
Yoooo thanks!!
Gooood one bro!
Great Video like always!
But could you make a tutorial video on how you creating a nest js app with next js authentication?
To create a user, receive a user in nest, and then into next js?
could give content creators the option to set a "'recommended" subscription which would prioritize/display first the option they choose (free trial, $8.99, etc)
can you describe your routine more like at what time do you wake up till what time do you work , (when do you microwave coffee)😁
How's your startup hosted? Some serverless platform? AWS?
Good stuff as always! A few thoughts…
Does Stripe handle free trial duplication? In other words, could I sign up multiple times for a free trial of a sub, or is Stripe handling that as part of their astronomical fees? If not, something to consider in the next 30 days after going live on free trials in order to protect your creators
Another thought - have you considered what the mapping is for different tiers within each connection? I’m not super familiar with roles in Discord, but I imagine in Slack you might tie specific channels to certain subscription tiers? I would imagine it all maybe more tied to channels (even within Discord, unless you need roles to view/post in certain channels vs. simply being invited). And maybe as part of a super streamlined setup, creators could simply setup their channels, assign tiers to specific channel access, and then you create all those channels for them. Obviously you also invite certain members to the respective channels whenever they subscribe to a specific tier
And for the future evolution, provide them a simple way to view/post messages across all their different platforms all in one place 🤙🏼
Leeetttssss GOOOOOOO!
I would suggest making a private/public, make the creator decide if he wants to publish his plan of save/move it to the drafts
Do you write any tests for your code?
What about if you put a row of boxes at the bottom that have different subscriptions and plans - maybe limit it to like 3 - 4 tiers so that it doesn't get out of control. the ui box could have the subscription price and a little select indicator - kind of like glorified radio buttons
Maybe a more info button so that it could have a modal or tool tip to explain what they will be getting for that price.
I also think that the creator should be able to select the default tier - maybe have that one in the middle and a bit bigger than the others.
¡Gracias!
Thanks!!!
For free trials there should be a timer feature that would build an anticipation of loosing a deal.
Like there should be a scheduled free trial feature.Kindaa (Flash sale)
Btw amazing content🎉
Thanks for the video. What software stack do you use in your project?
Next, typescript, tailwind, nest, prisma
solid work mate all the best!! loving the vids
Thanks!!
Hey, Jacob. Wanted to ask, how do you contact big influencers to try your product?
Normally dm
where do you get your hoodies from?
Nike
Super fun, super amazing. I enjoy your board sessions. Why not you make some tutorials, huh
Maybe one day!
Hey man! Just out of curiosity: What DB provider/BAAS are you using? Love the vid, btw. It's always so chill and entertaining to watch.
PostgreSQL & railway
@@JacobSucksAtCodeThx so much! Have a great day!
@@JacobSucksAtCode Are you also hosting your app on railway?
Very odd question but please can you provide a link to the red pen you were using @6:00 . Thank you.
It’s from MUJI!
@@JacobSucksAtCode Thank you :)
bro i just find a bug on your website i can tell you where get in touch

Are you freelancer or have start up?
I am Really eager to know🔥
Today saw your video for the first time and really loved it
Startup
@@JacobSucksAtCode Just saw your vid, what application are you developing or providing?
Jacob ❤, give me the main road map to be a full stack developer in web please 😞❤❤😊😊??
Start with the link in the description!
Show greyed out deleted subscriptions, and after all users finished the sub time for that one, don't display it on the dashboard at all, only in archive section or invoices
🚀🚀
استمر❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
do you have a discord?
Yep! Link in description
