1964年、トヨペット・コロナの3代目として登場したRT40型は、「アローライン」と呼ばれた傾斜したフロントノーズのデザインが特徴的であった。
1966年6月〜1967年6月迄生産された中期型は、格子状のライト一体型のフロントグリルとなった。
駆動方式はFR、ミッションはコラムシフトの3速MT、搭載される水冷直列4気筒OHVエンジンは、1490ccの排気量から70psを発揮し、最高速度は140km/hに達した。
★ Toyopet Corona Deluxe (RT40)
The RT40, which appeared as the third generation of Toyopet Corona in 1964, was characterized by a sloping front nose design called the “arrow line”.
The mid-term model, which was produced from June 1966 to June 1967, was a front grille with a grid-like light.
The drive system is FR, the mission is a column-shift 3-speed MT, and the water-cooled in-line 4-cylinder OHV engine that is installed demonstrates 70 ps from a displacement of 1490 cc, and the maximum speed reaches 140 km / h. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My father bought a RT40 Corona in 1966 and it is still in a perfect condition.
My father bought the same 1967 Corona, brand new in red color. We still have it. All original and its a beauty..

Love it! I had a 1500cc '69 Mk 1 truck. Loved the column shift - gave me a lot of happy miles on the gravel roads of South Africa until I sold it. Enjoy!
Beauty car, we had a '72 Corona, drove it for 30,000 miles, died by deer at 167thou., very sad, love these old toyotas, easy to work on, dependable (at least in my experience and I've had several Tercels and a Carona wagon), these cars need saving, not crushing. The '72 was one of the most dependable cars I've ever driven, and I liked the lines, regular maintenance was easy, back when things were simpler. That is a fine example imho :)
I have a 1975 Corolla, 1977 Toyota Pickup, and two 1987 Tercel wagons. Extremely reliable cars. I drive them all very frequently.
My family had one of these. I never thought I'd see one again.

I was stationed at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan in late 68 and 69 and these were like the iconic Mercedes diesels used as taxicabs.
Nice car. Some interesting cars were coming out of Japan in the late 1960's. We had a Skyline Prince which was a fun car to drive then.

最近RT40はテレビCM に出てくる機会が多いと思います。阿部寛が出てる銀行系CM や
ビートたけしのワンダのCM 。
ここまで色んなCM に起用されるのはコロナの持つ嫌みの無いデザインと独特なクラシカル感かと思います。
昔々は、がんばれロボコンのパパさんの愛車だったり、
ぼくが印象に残っているのは
宮崎あおいが主演の三億円事件を題材にした映画｢初恋｣
です。白いコロナが出て来ますが、これがすごく物語の中でいい仕事をしています。
トヨペットコロナ。大好きな車です。いつか欲しいです。

Wonderful car
Back when the cars were simpler, no power windows, doors, it had an overhead cam engine, the engines were sumpler easy to work on, no fuel injection.
This Corona had an overhead valve but not an overhead cam.

乗るならセダンの１５００ＤＸ１６００Ｓも良いんですよね ハードトップも
「がんばれロボコン」でロボコンが居候するお父さん役の大野しげひささんが前期型に乗っていました。ちょっとボロボロでしたが
これは驚きました。始動時も走行時も室内エンジン音、今の車に負けない静けさ。あとこう言う動画で初めて「ETCカードが挿入されていません」ではなく「挿入されました」と言ったのを聴けて今までずっとイライラしていたのが、肩の荷がおりました。こう言う古い車は現代の車の過ちに気づかせてくれますね。まず室内が広い。

I have a 69 4 door and a 1970 2 door coupe my 4 door has a 2000 miata drivetrain in it including front and rear subframes and steering column 2 door is 1 owner car with only 9,800 original miles

ISO USA 1971 1/2 Corona MKII wagon. Must run and have 8RC engine. Prefer running driving decent example. Reply if you know of one here in the US. I understand only 400, 1971.5 were imported.
Would seriously consider a 1972 if it were a very good example.
