She's literally a live action Chel
Best compliment🥰
exactly
That's not what literally means dumbass 🙄
Ayo
I literally came here just to say that 😍
So Chel is going to sit up here and review her own movie?? 😭😭😭
Yup🥰
I was thinking the same thing! She looks just like Chel!
😂 for real
That's exactly what I said. 😭😭😭
@@Obsidiana_99 Rukiya is gorg and I’m loving the Chel inspired outfit but pls remember with these comments (serious or not) if Chel were to be compared to a real person it would and should be an indigenous woman. She’s one of the few characters we have as south/central native representation and it seems that the comments on here are forgetting that. Saying “ I love her Chel inpired outfit” is fine but these types of comments are not okay even if they have harmless intentions.
did you know that miguel and tulio's voice actors actually recorded in the same room together? most voice actors record separately, but they wanted the characters to really gel on screen, so they recorded all their lines together, that's why their chemistry is so good!
I literally agree
Fun fact: you know that this movie is based on a village called “el dorado “ in Colombia, but people thought the village was made out of gold.
En realidad se supone q es tenochtitlán y todo el tema de la conquista de mexico
Y el gordito ese que sale en el principio es Hernán Cortés?@@mariareneemorenocastaneda6416
Bro is based of Mexico and Aztecs
@Ramhtx Nop, is based on Suramérica not Mexico.
Wow, nice to see Chel watch her own movie. You must be proud.
Yes I am🥰
Guys, she’s not Chel.
Shh 🤫 yes I am

The Chief figured they weren't gods along the way, but he likes them, so he played along.
Ohh okay! Makes sense. I really like the Cheif
I think it was because of the blood.
@@entertainmentlife430 I think he figured it out a little before the blood but Chief the man!
@@bluewolf6323 I didn't notice it before then but you're right from the very beggining he was great.when do u think he figured it out?
@@entertainmentlife430 It was either when they first came and the Priest was hyping them up, when Chel shifted the gold throwing ritual for the Gods to bask in it, or when Tulio and Miguel asked for a boat to leave even though like he said, he expected them to stay for thousands of years. I wouldn't be surprised if it *was* at the very beginning where the Priest was hyping Tulio and Miguel to be the Gods but he didn't see it that way but played along.
i watched this film way too much when i was little and i went back to it recently and noticed how DIRTY it can be 😭
Here's how it works. There are "Kid's Movies" which are aimed entirely at children, and which adults will find tedious. Then there are "Family Movies" which are full of humour aimed at adults, as well as slapstick or toilet humour for the kids. Both are suitable for children, with no profanity etc.
Dreamworks tend to make Family Movies with adult themes, like Prince Of Egypt, Shrek, etc..
Same with Pixar. Disney leans a bit more to the Kid's Movie end of the spectrum, but they are aware that they have a lot of adult fans too.
Truthfully, there aren't all that many Children's Movies in theatres these days. Family Films are much more lucrative.

IKR SHE REALLY LOOKS LIKE HER OMG INCLUDING THE HAIR LIKE WHA-
😊
Yyyyyyyyep you knew what you were doing… and I appreciate every frame… you also lowkey give natty npc vibes…. 🤌🏾
Huh...I never noticed the way Chel's lips tremble a little when Tulio invites her to come with him to Spain. Like she's trying and (obviously) failing to hold back her smile. I like that. It's a really small detail that they didn't have to throw in, but I appreciate it.
I know. She acts a bit tough most of the movie but when the guy she likes wants her to come with she has to turn away so he doesn’t see how happy she is. I love that trope. It’s so cute
Ahhhh! So I am part Muisca (the culture the real legend of El Dorado was based off). Even if this movie kinda mushes all of the Central and South American cultures together (the temples are very much Aztec based but the gold work is Muisca) it makes me so happy to see people enjoying this movie cause it is so fun 💗💗💗
So fun fact, El Dorado actually means Golden Man. How our tribe used to crown our chief was he would be covered in gold dust and pushed out on a raft in the middle of a scared lake with a bunch of golden tributes (called tunjos) and sacrifice the gold to the gods. Then he would wash the gold off himself and be recognized as the new zipa (aka chief)
@nuez yo wtf. I am literally descended from that tribe. I know these stories from my grandmother. Who was helping revitalize mysk kubun. Our language. Like obviously the movie has issues but…it’s a fun dumb movie. Why come at me with this energy?
@nuez I never said there was a golden city….but the zipa ceremony DID happen at Lake Guatavita…
@nuez ïe cho but somehow I doubt you will
@nuez bullying and name calling is not tolerated at all. Your comments have been deleted. If you can’t state your opinions without being insulting then you will be blocked from the channel.
me and my sister loved this movie as kids but now i'm realizing a lot of the adult jokes just went completely over our heads lol
I love the voice acting for Tulio and Miguel, the two VAs actually recorded their lines together and would act out some scenes so that's why they have such natural chemistry whenever they talk
I love it too!! The movie didn't need to verbally tell us they have been friends for years, the acting is just that good!!🥰
@@RukiyaReacts Hiii
Miguel is my classmate for Grade one
it's actually Julio not Tulio.
just wanted to correct your mistake, NOT trying to cause any offense and sry if i did.
@@solromeroconsultantbusines6901 it's fine and I agree about the voice actors they round like yhey had this type of connection for years
Unfortunately no sequel, I think they planned some but these movies did NOT do good at all at launch, so they ended up becoming hidden gems. Honestly, it's one of my favorite animated movies of all time, it's just so beautiful, witty, and unique. I would be a lot happier if it was a full trilogy, but the open ended ending still works fine.
That's so tragic.😭 A sequel or tv series would have been amazing!
I would’ve loved to get a sequel with Chel learning about the new world. Have her get a modern outfit in Spain and then cut it so suit her. Modern with a little bit of Chel spice. It’d be so hot. 😂
@@RukiyaReacts tulio and his friend were going to be a gay couple…. oh well

No but the fact that there are SO MANY adult humor jokes in old dreamworld movies, make it the best 😂
This movie gives such huge polyamorous vibes, I love it
I know right?! Major poly vibes. I need a sequel with them 3 officially together
@@RukiyaReacts Ugh me too! I feel like had it been a modern day production and a different company, they totally would've went for it!
People gotta remember movies aren't necessarily made for kids just because they happened to be animated.
Very true!
True. But it was always marketed as a kids movie. Lots of kids movies have sexual innuendos and horror stuff to keep the guardian’s entertained as well. But they are still kids movies. As adults we rewatch these movies and out immediate reaction is that it isn’t/shouldn’t have been a kids movie. But as kids we did understand any of the jokes so it didn’t matter at the time.
This my friend, is the difference between a children’s movie and a family movie.
People often get them mixed up but children’s movies are solely for kids, family movies have a little something for all the family.
@@KaiTheTyrant ^^THIS! family-friendly does not mean “for kids only.” El Dorado is a family friendly movie, which means there can very well be mature themes or scenes in them that you would not exactly market to kids, but it’s vague or subtle enough that it isn’t straight up R-rated. it being animated or not does not affect its rating, only the content itself.
@@KaiTheTyrant Exactly! "Children's Films" don't have sexual innuendo or horror.
"Family Films" are the ones that are designed to entertain adults too.
Dreamworks films like Road To El Dorado, Sinbad and Prince Of Egypt push the concept of family films.. They are suitable for kids, but are really intended for adults.
ElDorado wouldn't be the first film that was improperly marketed for a younger audience. Maybe that's why it didn't do very well.
The Blonde-haired guy is my favorite. I felt he enjoyed his time with the people of El Dorado more than the other guy did, he was basking in the gold more than the people and the girl. But honestly, Blondie because he showed true heart of caring for the people's lives even though he was posing as a God, but he did protect them from the wicked Priest more than his partner did. Blondie, I liked his heart for his sense of adventure more the richest.
Fr!
I luv Miguel ❤️
*hold up my glass* To Blondie!
@@soontobechannel743 i know his name. I just forgot for a moment. But I have always called him blondie.
I love how she's always doing reactions to really original movies, like the old stuff. I feel like the movies were much better back then tbh
I absolutely LOVED this movie as a kid and was surprised you hadn’t seen it
This is what happens when the rogue and the bard wonder off from the party.
But I also quite like the theory that the chieftain and the armadillo are real gods who enjoy watching these two himbos save a culture from the conquistadors.
Himbos lol...
Hmm that's an interesting theory 🤔
@@RedRoseSeptember22 They're more hunks because they're not really big and dumb and I love this!
@@RukiyaReacts speaking of theories, in this case conspiracy theories, i bet you are ready to capture something else, besides of hidden gold, right? oh and regarding innuendo theories, just think the lucky6 god part as something that she was just kissing him a lot that made him love dizzy
"Saved from the conquistadors" boy do I got something to teach you about the Aztecs.
"I hope there's a sequel."
BOX OFFICE BACK IN 2000: Yeah.....no.
That’s tragic😭😭😭 A sequel or even a tv series would have been so fun
About the gold being thrown in the lake, that is a tribute to the reason the legend of el dorado began. There was a tribe that sacrificed gold in a lake for their moon goddess, and had a similar ceremony to crown their king, where he'd become the golden man and jump in the lake
the part where the guy slapped his friend is so relatable bc one time me and my bff were playing among us and there were 3 people including me and her, and 1 imposter. she had told me she was a crew mate so I trusted her and she trusted me we already knew who was imposter so we pretended like we were fighting the imposter was acting like my bff was the imposter and he was “on my side” we all voted. AND GUESS WHAT HE ACTUALLY GOT TRICKED 😂😂😂 me and my bff voted him and he RAGED so bad 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree
I would definitely watch a whole franchise of their explorations 🙌🏼
Same!!!
There is when the spanish conquistadors took over the "city of el dorado" killed the leader, killed a lot of mayan for over 400 years until miguel hidalgo y costilla fought for mexico's independence in 1910 or somewhere around that year.
My sister and I used to watch this movie on repeat as kids lol and shockingly, we knew something naughty was happening during the Chel and Tulio scene lmfao.
FR THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN A KIDS MOVIE
14:05 is actually a game the Aztecs (in Latin America) would play. The ball would actually be 9 pounds, and those holes on the sides of the walls are barely a centimeter bigger. And if you won, you would get your head cut off for the next game that would be played, apparently you wanted to win and it would be an honor for your head to be in the next game.
Facts!
I love her hair when reacting to thisssss I mean who am I kidding her hair is always ate!!!
Looking very Chel today, Rukiya 😍
I love Road To El Dorado! Possibly my favorite American 2D animation. Branagh and Kline have incredible chemistry, every song from Sir Elton is a banger, the art is gorgeous, and Altivo is top 3 animated horses. I will never get tired of this little treasure.
Thank you!🥰 I couldn’t agree more! Everything about this movie was done so well. I can’t wait to watch it again and again❤️
Great reaction. The only thing I'd like to say is that, when you questioned if it would be a bad idea for Miguel to stay in El Dorado ('cause he'd start aging), the Chief kind of hinted in his discussion with Miguel on the ship that he knew both of them were human. So, I'm guessing that if he did know & Miguel had stayed in El Dorado, they would've figured out an explanation that would've made sense to the locals why "god" Miguel was aging/dying. To keep his cover.
I mean, the easy explanation would be that while they're gods, the the bodies they have are human, because humans can't survive in front of pure divinity.
Ohh okay!
@@AZDfox I just thought when that happened they would tell the truth but no one would care because they love Miguel to much at that point.
It would be quite easy. Just say “Yeah, I am a god, but this physical body I am inhabiting will still age and die.”
Or just tell the truth and by that point everyone likes him too much to care
This is one of those movies that gets overlooked but is amazing.
You and Chelsea look like perfect twins, beautiful.
You know how kids will fixate on a movie and watch it everyday? El Dorado and Jumanji were that for me. EL Dorado is magically and funny
I don’t know why, but Jumanji scared me as a kid so I never watched it fully😭
@@RukiyaReacts understandable the those damn plants scared me the most, and the spiders ahh. Watching it back now it's not as scary bc it's 1995 effects lol I actually think it would be a fun reaction video because it has some great jokes in there and it's generally unhinged
Me too.
@@RukiyaReacts I wasn’t scared, when I first saw it on Cartoon Network 16 years ago.
@woooudo lol ok
I think DreamWorks was one of the first studios to prove that animation doesn't have to be just for kids. The first movie they released was called Antz (which kinda started their rivalry with Disney), and it was one of the most vulgar things I have ever seen in my entire life.
is nt ants still ownd by disney ? DreamWorks left disney long time ago now ownd by Comcast Universal
@@RedKnightArts DreamWorks was never owned by Disney. Jeffrey Katzenberg co-created DreamWorks Animation with Steven Spielberg and some other guy after Michael Eisner fired him from Disney.
And, like I said, Antz was the first movie DreamWorks released (a month before Pixar's A Bug's Life).

Chief knows Miguel isn't a real god. But he knows that his people believe Miguel is a real god, and that because of that he removed a lot of the crazy psycho high priests power and influence and that because of that and because he enjoys spending time with the regular people, Miguel has made the people of El Dorado happy. He also can tell that among man, MANY other things, Miguel is a good man. So that's why he's letting him stay even if it's under a lie.
It should be easy enough to explain why he's getting older even if he's a god (had he ended up staying), they'd just say that to put the people at ease, he was giving himself the appearance of a mortal man and so would age and change like them until he was ready to return to the other world in his actual godly form.
The first ‘bad guy’ was Cortes. Voiced by Jim Cumming (voice of Winnie the Pooh and many others). Cortes was a Spanish explorer who led the conquest for gold in Mexico and modern day Central America.
You put "bad guy" in quotes and called a colonizer an "explorer."
🤨
I think this movie is the life of every chaotic child, teen, adult, and elder. And Chel... Too Perfect.
BTW: I call dibs on being the Horse!
This movie reminds me of Emporers New Groove which came out the same year as Road To El Dorado
Ah Chel. She's slick, can play tricks, but also, she dummy---
Also, nobody gonna talk about the line Miguel says when they fear they will be sentenced to death in their arrival to the city:
"Tulio, I just want you to know, I'm sorry about that girl in Barcelona."
Miguel, Tullio and Chel, the original "This is my boyfriend Tullio and that is Tullios boyfriend Miguel"
He’s so sadistic, because during that game it was normal to sacrifice people to the gods and sun gods as well. This was also known as the Aztecs
Would’ve loved to see you react to the dice scene, “Where was she keeping them?…” For me, the best line in the movie, still makes me chuckle.
Sadly though, there’s to sequel,
Chel is a baddie, she's so naughty 😂😂. Obviously Tullio had no intentions of being naughty but Chel kept seducing him
13:03 was kinda sus ngl but I will not talk much about it bcuz it's weird 😇
I am pretty sure the chief actually realised they weren't really gods, he just didn't care, because they got rid of the High priest
I only discovered this channel today and I absolutely fell in love with her humour!!! SHES SOOOOOOO SOOOOOOO SOOOOOOO FUNNY!!❤❤❤❤❤
He said "Forget Miguel" because he meant that it was really him that wanted her to go and that he loved her. Miguel heard the wrong part and assumed they cut him out of the plan because Tulio was clearly smitten.
Chel was lowkey my bisexual awakening 🥰 loved this movie & rewinded certain scenes with “no clue” why
Your Chel cosplay is very much on point 👍🏿. I would love to be able to watch this movie as if I was seeing it for the first time again. I wish 2D animated movies like this were still as common.

Elton John (my hero) and Tim Rice were brought in to write the songs for The Road to El Dorado after writing the songs for The Lion King. Hans Zimmer has done the score for both films.
Awesome reaction! This, and Prince Of Egypt are a couple of my favorite DreamWorks films, especially as far as their hand-drawn films go. Also, how could you not love Chel’s sweet, and playful sense of humor? And yes, Tulio, and Miguel have great chemistry, along with Tulio, and Chel’s romantic relationship. And wow, how can you not like Elton John, and Tim Rice’s songs for this film? I’m surprised more people don’t seem to consider the songs as memorable as the ones that they did for The Lion King. Truthfully, and this is likely an unpopular opinion, but as far as the end credits songs go, I would say that I like “Someday Out Of The Blue” better than “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” (the end credits version for The Lion King, that is). Well, great reaction once again! I’m glad that you enjoyed this film.
Whenever I see that movie I cry at the friends never say goodbye scene :'( And girl, you better do a Chel cosplay!
Chel = Queen SLAYY

I dig all these movies you're reacting to. In my 30s, still watch and love them to this day!!😍
I love animations that are fun for both kids and adults🥰❤️
Thank you so much for reviewing this film. I loved the characters, the story, and the songs, especially the end credits song, “Someday Out Of The Blue.” Oh, did you ever see the music video for that song? If not, you should. Elton John turns into an animated character for that music video. Anyway, I do wish that the “h” word hadn’t been in this film a few times, and that Tulio, and Miguel’s conflict near the end had been resolved in a more satisfying manner. Still, I love the movie for what it is for the most part. Anyway, great job yet again!!
Girl, you are so gorgeous in every video! You should be proud af 💞
It's so lovely to read the comments to your video. I was a clean up lead on Tulio and it was one of my favourite films to work on.

@@RukiyaReacts Yes, Any film that had 2D in it :)
Do you still got production art of this movie? @@njc8641
You know, I just realized a major plot hole in this movie. How the hell did Blinkie or whatever the hell his name is, come across that map and where did it come from? I have a theory, but it just doesn't seem logical. The map would have had to come from the new world, but we never get any indication about its origins.
Hmm that’s a good question 🤔 I wished we have gotten a sequel or even prequel for them to explain that loophole
Well, maybe he just got that from a traveler. Remember that Christopher Colombus traveled before Cortes, so he had some interaction with the New World before the hole killing and conquer began. So maybe some random guy stole the map from Colombus and then he got stolen from one of the men that where with Cortes, the same man that was playing dice with Tulio and Miguel.
El Dorado by Edgar Allan Poe
Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o’er his heart a shadow-
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
‘Shadow,’ said he,
‘Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?’
‘Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,’
The shade replied,-
‘If you seek for Eldorado!’
“Are you serious, right in front of my salad?“ I find that funny
