  • The 2020 presidential election cycle features incumbent President Donald Trump, a Republican, and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee. This debate was meant to be the third and final of the election season, but was canceled after the president became ill with COVID-19 and refused to participate if it was held virtually, as the Committee on Presidential Debates had decided to do. The final debate was a 90-minute discussion focused on a variety of topics. Moderated by Kristen Welker of NBC News, it took place on October 22, 2020, in Nashville, Tennessee.
