    Thanks for the great tips! I’ve been collecting vintage glassware, candle holders, small decorative bowls and tin cups with the desire to create pincushions with my counted cross stitch or vintage hankies from my grandmother. This was very helpful:-) Shelly

    The glass dish with the metal ring is a shrimp cocktail server, the ring is to hold small forks, and it probably had a small glass bowl to nestle in the larger dish that held ice.

    Hi Laura, I have been watching your videos for a couple of weeks and I have to tell you how much you have helped me with lots of different tips and tutorials. For example, yesterday for the first time ever, I confidently sewed binding around a table runner!
    Thank you for all your great efforts! You are helping so many of us.......Love from Australia.

    I have made multiple pin cushions from some of my nick naks and one of them is a small teapot that was a toy of my mother's. I never thought of double sided tape.Thank you for showing yours.

    I use steel wool in some of my homemade pincushions - helps to sharpen the pins every time I put them in. 😉

    Good way to use those decorative ashtrays that are no longer needed for their original purpose. (Thrift store finds) Good to make a pin cushion of a nice height to set beside the sewing machine. Make appropriate height cushion & glue it into the ashtray. I like the idea of double stick tape, as some of the Depression Glass ashtrays are quite collectible.
    Same principle would work with coffee mugs, music boxes, small Valentine candy boxes (makes 2) and more.
    Thanks for sharing the idea and how-to. Always appreciate ways to reuse, repurpose, recycle.

    I remember back in 60's we had cloth baby diapers with safety pins, I was told to drag safety pins through your hair several times before you pin the baby cloth diapers as hair will sharpened it. I have not tried that. I wonder if you put hair in or not? Also I was surfing the net and saw something like the amazon selling bags of grated nut shells for that as it says it will sharpened your needles. Huh what?

      The dish is for shrimp cocktail I think it's missing the inner glass cup/bowl to set in the biger dish with ice, the ring was for the small forks. Restaurant supply stores would have them or Ebay.

    Hi if you make place mats what batting can I get

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy Před 6 lety

      You can really use any batting, poly will be better to wash, but hot things don't like it as much. Cotton always works best
